Growing up in poverty, Sunny never expected anything good from life. However, even he did not anticipate being chosen by the Nightmare Spell and becoming one of the Awakened — an elite group of people gifted with supernatural powers.

Transported into a ruined magical world, he found himself facing against terrible monsters — and other Awakened — in a deadly battle of survival.

What’s worse, the shadow powers he received happened to possess a small, but potentially fatal side effect… Collapse

it was interesting, didn't like the romance tough it was pathetic the MC need tremendous character development, being strong alone isn't enough to make him likeable it just makes him useful for whoever want to takes advantage of him

If you don't mind, can you elaborate? Romance isn't a make or break for me but bad romance is.

There is no romance yet in the released chapters, MC having a crush at most. I think the tag's also in webnovel, so likely it's just a future plotline. Idk what's bad/not to like in something that hasn't happened yet, unless it's about the characters' personalities in general.

The book's pretty slow-paced, so I don't think there's gonna be any major development in this area for a long while.

yeah that dude pretty much already explain it, there is no established romantic relationship yet it just the MC one sidely like the girl, but if I had to say it myself that alone already part of the romance because I wouldn't know what to call that mind-blowing drama otherwise

It's one of the best novels I've read so far.

Although Volume 2 disappointed me. But she's back on track. gloom

I can tell you that the background of the world in the novel is first-rate.

    At least that's my opinion.

Could someone tell me approx how many chapters there are going to be in this novel, like 1200-1400, 1400+, etc? Because I'm thinking stockpiling the whole thing and reading it all in one sitting

Kinda stupid question, we aren't author. So far there are ~300 chapters and MC is still in tutorial. If no hiatus or breaks etc. Then probably atleast 2k+ similiar to Supreme Magus i suppose.

I love this novel. I'm looking forward to the new chapters. Anyone who writes that the main character is stupid or impulsive and expects some big and instantaneous changes from him should remember that the main character is not yet 18 years old. This is a fragile, insecure teenager who grew up in poverty. He has a lot of complexes, and his hormones are still playing. Don't expect adult decisions from a teenager. And don't expect him to grow up in just 11 months. It takes many years to form an adult mindset. The narration is really slow. This novel is not for those who want the main character to conquer the world in 10 chapters and attract 15 girls to the harem in 5 chapters.

Realistically, an 18 year old who has lived with hunger, poverty and struggle for survival will always be VERY mature for his age or he would be dead long ago.

Dont come here trying to explain his action like he is a modern teen that spend all his days on the internet and only has to worry if he will eat Mcdonalds or pizza for his meal.

A "fragile" and "insecure" person would have died on the streets long ago. If the author wants him to behave this way then change his origin story.

Alright, I say this. MC is insecure about his looks that shit is common from whatever background you are from, he is not fragile by any means and is also insecure about not being good enough because of his sister's thing. that's the only two. finger

That decisiveness and mature thinking he still has it, we only know his insecurity through his inner monologs/whining and his only has one outburst to nephis who he thought was a good person but was willing to sacrifice many people for her goal.

He is struggling because he is a fish out of water. He is good at surviving and f#cking people over he lived like that for decades. but setting charged now he has friends and a social setting and has to tell the truth (and we all know he caught some feels like a simp) and his ideal girl is not so "ideal", still struggling and surviving as we can see (survives alone in the city)
Everybody has insecurities and it's not like people who come up through struggles have no insecurities right. It didn't matter if he was hot during his street life but not so now where everyone looks like MTV teen drama and has feelings for one or both the chicks.
The setting changed so we see his insecurities come to the surface. Change the setting or MC move past his insecurities. MC is golden again.

Author didn't change anything about his personality. Only some chaps have that f!@@#g drama read past that. When the shit goes down he pulls his shit tougher and acts rationally. Character development welldone

According to real life logic, poverty ridden boys are more decisive. They learn to give up from young age, or they are much more possessive than normal. Ever heard "what doesn't kill you, makes you stronger". Complexes are delusions. Poor has to face real life everyday.

to say that he is fragile is stupid, if that were the case, he would not have survived the favela or the first nightmare.
