The person whom the world revolves around.

The person who defeats all of his opponents, and ultimately gets the beautiful girl.

The sole existence all villains fear.

That is the protagonist.

What about me?

As a failed author who had only one success throughout his whole career, I had reincarnated into my late novel.

«This is it»

I thought, as I tightly clenched my fist.

Did I just get reincarnated in my own novel?

Is this where I reincarnate in a novel and become the protagonist?

No.

Sadly it’s not that kind of novel, as I reincarnated as a mob.

The world doesn’t revolve around me.

The girls don’t come flocking towards me.

The cheat items don’t come to me.

«Phew»

I let out a sigh of relief.

«Thank god I’m not the protagonist»

I joyfully shouted as tears streamed down my cheeks.

Wait, are you curious as to why I don’t want to be the protagonist?

I did forget to mention the most important thing when I was describing a protagonist.

That is…

They are calamity magnets.

I just died. If I learned something from that, it’s that it really isn’t a pleasant experience.

If possible let me live a long stable life.

Thank you, whoever reincarnated me.

I would later come to regret these words…

Reader Disclaimer:

There are two MCs in this story.
1. The original MC of the novel
2. The author that transmigrates in the novel
In the beginning, the author plays the role of an extra with no ambition other than quietly waiting for the story to end. He is almost like a babysitter that watches over the plotline, however, this will only be in the first 40 chapters or so as he will soon be dragged into the plotline regardless of how much he doesn’t want to.

The MC may come off as someone that has no ambition in the beginning but as the story progresses it will change

Also, there may be a bit of info-dumping at the beginning of the novel (at least the first 30 chapters), but there shouldn’t be anymore in the following chapters. Well…being a new author I may end up doing it again. If I do so please do criticize me and scold me. If you don’t scold me how am I supposed to improve the story? What’s great about writing web novels is that I actually can hear your advice and opinions. You are just as much invested in this story as I am, so please help me out.

Well…I would appreciate it if you don’t leave a one star…not that I can stop you

Also, yes, the novel is inspired by TNE (The novel’s extra) you may see a lot of similarities in the beginning, but for future chapters the differences will start to become more apparent. I hope you manage to stick through it. Also, don’t come reading this expecting it to be another TNE. In fact don’t compare the two. If you do, the flaws of this book will become more apparent as you read ruining the whole experience Collapse

LOTS of people in the comments are not helpful at all, literally EVERY1 is saying bad stuff about this novel. Let me fix it up.

If you are a person who hasn't read The Novel's Extra, you will find this novel pretty good, but if you indeed read it, then the first 200 chapters will just feel like a chinese copy of that novel. Although I do not know whether this was intentional or not, this novel does keep getting better and better.

Yes, this novel had a bad start, and although this novel had quite gaps here and there with lots of room for improvement, trust me it gets better in the middle and by the ending it becomes a great novel. There is a reason people call this novel a "Hidden Gem". I personally liked the most about the MC being trapped in monolith, and everything afterwards was also good.

I would rate this novel 8/10, simply because of the story development. Though people may argue about it, it's fine

The ending is actually peak, well the ending MIGHT be too common or too rare depending on how many novels you have read. Anyways, it isn't a disappointing novel, so go through the journey.

This novel is largely a disappointment. It lacks emotional depth, narrative coherence and memorable characters. The author relies on coincidences and plot holes, making reading a frustrating task, which is only redeemed (and badly) in its final moments. It's a narrative that fails to convey the emotion and complexity that the reader clearly found in its "extra" reference material.
It wouldn't be so painful if it weren't for the huge praise about this work.

And a good read if you turn off your brain and just want something like "the extra of the novel", the difference that this one doesn't have a plot as big as its counterpart, seems to me very much the worst of several other novels with forced twistsAnd a good read if you turn off your brain and just want something like "the extra of the novel", the difference that this one doesn't have a plot as big as its counterpart, seems to me very much the worst of several other novels with forced twists.

    World background............. 4/5
    Story development......... 4.5/5
    Character design............. 4.5/5
    Writing quality.................... 4/5

    1) There were quite arcs when story seems similar to Novel's extra. So I recommend very user that don't read The Author's POV & Novel's extra in succession. Let there be gap between each other, so atleast you can enjoy both novels. Although in this novel MC doesn't have unique system similar to Novel's extra, but it does cover up some annoying issues which were their in Novel's extra like that misunderstanding caused btw MC & many FC.

    2) The twist that that was introduced regarding MC, like how
Which I liked it very much and it seems quite refreshing idea to me.

    3) At start I didn't like how passive MC was but as time moves on it starts get interesting and the character growth was also good. And when MC started using his skill Monarch indifference was when I like the most.

    4) Story starts little degrading afterwards when MC wents to previous world of elves. Even the ending was not that much hyped compared to middle& early section of story.

So overall although this novel doesn't offer or have some unique system or world background except the mystery of MC & his past was quite unique, plus the storyline is quite decent. So overall I do recommend this novel for reading. welldone

Every plotline regarding a certain recurring demon antagonist are forced, cringy and nonsense. Author really dropped the ball there.

When I came here an hour ago I thought, is it worth it? peepo013 Synopsis didn’t really hook me and comments were not helpful, so I in my supreme wisdom went on wiki and read novel in record time. Last act was kinda suffocating even in summary btw. Overall fine.

I feel like I could binge it a few more times because I did.
It is a masterpiece, in my opinion, full of all the twists and turns you will need in your mind, as well as its own thrill, excitement, and charm. It was a pleasant experience to watch the character development unfold gradually, with subtle clues. To be honest, I skipped a few of the dull and repetitive chapters, but after reading most of it, I can say that it is worth reading—especially if you can make it to the end.

The beginning is terrible, not at all inviting to the reader to see, it seems like more of the same. Then it gets better and the story starts to move forward and get really good when he leaves school, that's where the novel starts to develop.
