    i think the main problem that most people end up having with this novel, is that they come into it with the expectation of a wish fullfilment novel, or a story that they can feel like they are the main characters.
    This novel for me, is a lot more like a tragedy, just like in LOTM, it involves a lot o themes centered around fate, and how it affects everything about the MC, but in LOTM, Klein, from the beggining is a really smart, basically perfect MC, which is not a bad thing, the focus of the story is not about character growth, but in Shadow Slave, Sunny is just a teen boy from the slums, he doesen't have any real knowledge, he only knows how to survive, the story is about him learning, becoming an adult, and fighting against fate.
    It's a story that you have to aproach with a open mind, it will make you mad, sad, happy, mad again, then even more mad, then really happy, then really sad, then happy again, the novel gets better the more you read and the more you learn about the world that it is set in.
    I think that anyone who actually read the novel, does not have a problem with Sunny and his relationship with the FMC, because... It makes sense, Sunny and her did not grow up a normal life, and in the age that people normally start to have interest in the opposite sex (or in the same no judgement) they were killing monsters 2 times their level, fighting for their life at every minute, without even knowing if there would be a tomorrow.
    I think that you should just read it, if it's not for you, then tough luck, that's life, but everyone should at least give it a try, in my opinion at the current chapters, Shadow Slave is at least top 5 webnovels of all time.

        i mean, most people don't get infected by the spell, and even if they do, at some point in their life, if they don't die, they would settle down and live a more normal life.
        but Sunny and Neph are kind of outliers in that sense, since their first time in the other world, they could not really rest, sometimes you forget, but the novel, at least to this point happen's in a pretty short span of time, they did not really have time to stop and think about their romantic feelings, but as the novel goes they start to address this.

    Before you trust any "good" reviews, may I remind you to look at the "bad" reviews as well. I'm not hating on this novel, but most of the good reviews almost sound like glazing.
    After all, everyone has their own opinions. But please try to form them only after seeing both sides of the coin.

      Most of the "bad" reviews can't look past the fact that he's a "slave" and that there's a girl who's similarly as strong as the mc.They have probably not ready till the current arc and most likely dropped it after 100 chapters or so.
      People seem to forget this is a story!!
      Not every mc has to be a heaven's blessed and an unparalleled genius.
      You can't really review a book if you've read roughly 100 chapters or so out 2000.If that was so,then Lotm would have had no readers by that time!!
      Then again you'd probably chalk this up to "glaze" again
      Scratch any reviews both good and bad and just read it.If you don't like it,move to another story!.Its not that complicated

        Don't forget, not only slave but also the Stockholm syndrome displayed by MC towards the girl that abused him.
        Also, the MC is naive. It doesn't matter if the current arc is good; if I have to wait hundreds of chapters before the novel gets 'good', I'd rather not read at all.
        And don't compare this to LOTM. LOTM was good from the start, setting an atmosphere like no other with a unique concept.

            true. It took atleast half of volume 1 for me to even start reading lotm with any sort of intrigue, before that it was just a read BCS my friend said so. Do I regret it? Fu#k no, lotm was peak as f#ck. Do I agree with what you said before? hundred f#cking percent. People can argue however much they by saying "I don't have time to read 2000000 chapters before liking it" OR "X novel became better by 10 chapters". If one hasn't read at least 1/5th of the novel he has no right to write to review. Especially because many WNs, the writers are doing it for the first time and in the older chapters they were bad but it later got better.

            Of course, I am not denying that one can't dislike or like something but leaving a review about your half-baked experience on the place where people come to find out if the novel is worth reading or not.

    Man, I've been following this novel since chapter 400 and to this day I continue to follow it, so I can say with confidence that Shadow Slave is a masterpiece, definitely not the best but still a masterpiece, there are arcs that almost made me fall asleep and arcs that literally left me glued to the screen for hours, it's not a perfect story (none are) but it definitely won a part of my heart, I invite you to just try to read this story, you won't regret it. swindler
