    Fellow daoists i need your help. I recently looked up a recommended novels from one of the comment sections and the tab was automatically closed and i cant find it. I only read the first chapter, and the basis was that the MC was imprisoned and then let free by his old friend who imprisoned him.     Can't believe the amount of love this getting. Its meh, it truly isnt that great. Dont get me started on the gods and such, extremely lame, that was the lore ect ect? Why I wasted so much time for something so underwhelming fills me with utter dissapointment, everything just puts a bad feeling in my chest. Decent world, needed better and more Grand imagination, honestly; the characters just ruin it for me, Kai and effie are cool, the rest including the mc and fmc are seriously subpar.

Whatever you say bud, I just think you want to be outside the norm and just be seen as smart which is okay as I never took offence to it, I'm just saying to keep it to yourself like others do as to create a better atmosphere as this is a social reading site. If you want to post a review, do it at an official site at other places but don't try and over-complicate everyone's viewpoints.

          Though I admit I'm quite cliched in my likes in that I like the tops of the genres like this and Reverend Insanity or LOTM for example but even knowing that you shouldn't criticize a reader's or an author taste/work.

      The novel has VERY good start, almost like a good quality book. Although it have very specific writing style and degradated a lot, all novels suffer from this, its aim many content instead of quality. Yes its childish, but also have adult moments, and still can surprise you with quality moments. By myself i stopped reading after Asterion ark, but i probably will return to it later, and read untill the end.

        Yes I agree. I read because of its promising begining, and I tend to agree with pretty much everything you've said, however, im not sure if you compared this to Reverend Insanity or if it was the fool above but comparing this to novels of such stature is ludicrous and insulting to such works.

        Personally id say this is perhaps a slight bit better than Infinite Mana in the Apocalypse, weapons of mass destruction is far better than this, hell id say the oracle paths with some of its childishness is a notch better than this. These 2 books are of similar genre and makeup, id recommend reading those over this any day tbh.

        Id like to know of your thoughts on this.

          Duh, sorry, i just didnt readed your novels, there is too much of them! I compare with something typical i.e. "Warlock of the Magus World" / "Solo Leveling" / "Release that Witch". I remember Warlock in magus work started pretty good, and then... i just couln't read it anymore.

You read almost 3k chapters only to give this shallow comment, like there is an obligation to fulfilling your perfect useless expectancy. If you read this on webnovel, feels got robbed of your money, then you have all the right to criticize this. This novel certainly wouldnt make it as the no.1, but it's really being subjective as to degrade this just because many people say it's the best.             I have to admit, this feeling, its so surreal; I have so many fans all of a sudden. Like a puppy, but a downsydrome puppy, you know, the ones where maybe one eye is bulging, bloodshot, tongue outside their mouth off to the side, slight drool or even worse, a dreaded foam within its mouth.           Everyone's entitled to how they feel about the novel so all this bitchin and moanin(I mean you and everyone replying)is really uncalled for.

          I'd say you haven't really given Shadow Slave a fair chance if you've only read up to the First nightmare and Forgotten Shore but if the book didn't already reel you in by that point then it just isn't the book for you.

          As a Shadow Slave enjoyer, I can admit that there are times when I had to take breaks cuz some characters were annoying, the pacing was a bit slow and chapters were too short etc. but I persisted and let THE CHEF G3 COOK and G3 for sure delivered every single time. At the end of every arc or volume I found myself feeling a profound sense of excitement for what's to come and a deeper understanding of the characters and how the plot and the world is expanding and thickening.

          As this is the first of the 3 webnovels I've read so far, I know there's probably other stories out there that dwarf Shadow Slave in different aspects but it's unfair and disingenuous to not have even reached the Antartica Campaign arc before calling it "meh" and "underwhelming, utter disappointment".

            I mean you just admitted you haven't read much, once to come to understand how deep the waters truly are you'd understand how shallow the waters you perceived as deep arent so.

            People thinking solo leving is gods gift to earth is the same thing, its most people opinion when its their first book. Everyone, well evidently not everyone, has come to terms that solo leveling is pretty run of the mil and not so great. Its just whatever, fast food, much like this novel.

            As for the "bitching and moaning," my initial comment on this garbage didnt warrant the responses I was receiving; i was not going to let these deluded fanboys say what they want to me just because its online; And clearly people including yourself have a problem with that, as for that, thats up to you.           I have to agree with all of your top five, but many of those have issues just as bad or even worse than those with this book. For example, Reverend Insanity, well, pretty solid all around but like almost every chinese written webnovel it has those problems for others, The Legendary Mechanic, the level of plot armor is truly insane, and theres never a fight that he really struggles in except in the beginning, planet aquamarine arc was my fav. Reincarnation paradise, same this, no struggle for the MC. At least is SS Guilty is willing to actively nerf and have his mc lose realistically, even if its done a little too much for me. I love this novel, and lowky Noctis is my fav Character but Kai is number 2, and Sunny is Num 3.

It's gonna probably them being the new God after the 6th NM, and hanging us with the impending Doom of the void. Not to mention, the 5th NM they gonna do after they deleted asterion from history.               Yeah and a nightmare typically takes 200-400 chapters and the 5th nightmare is special so it would like take 300-600 chapters instead and that's just them getting to sacred and they would also need companions at that rank too so there would be deposition regarding that and everything that sunny desires to be free from so yeah. But I wouldn't be surprised if they end up taking care of everything while they are only at Sacred rank considering they dealt with creatures 2 ranks above them while they were masters and and 1 rank above them while they are supremes but considering that nephis wants to destroy the spell I'd say that they'd need to conquer the 7th nightmare regardless.
