Jin Rou wanted to be a cultivator who defied the heavens, and surpassed all limits.

Unfortunately for him, he died, and now I’m stuck here. Arrogant young masters? Heavenly tribulations? Cultivating for days on end, then getting into life or death battles?

Yeah, no thanks. I’m getting out of here.

In which a transmigrator decides that the only winning move is not to play. Collapse

It's just a light-hearted story with a good comedy. Yes, it's Xianxia! Yes, it's about self-improvement! But these tags do not mean that this is a book about how to defeat young masters and become the strongest. If you have a feeling that actions, enemies or troubles are not enough, read a couple dozen more cultivators and come back.

They are just waiting for a reaction. Classic trolling.

If they genuinely did not like the novel they would have dropped a comment and moved on. Like anyone who genuinely loves reading, go find your next fix! Their constant reaction and retorts means that the content of the novel is not more important than what other people think about their comments.

If you feed the flames, they just burn brighter and they will just keep pouring more oil to attract other people... Just ignore.

Y’all, this book is a masterpiece. The words are used perfectly, the formatting is immaculately implemented, and the plot is simplistic yet so full of life.

This novel is extremely overrated. At first, yes, it was quite interesting, but then everything turned into nonsense, the main character is the unjustified Gary Stew. The thickest armor in history that I have ever seen. His quite ordinary girl turned out to be "magical". There is absolutely no plot, no conflicts, etc. The only thing that confuses me is the praise of such a bad work, which directly copies a mediocre Japanese novel with everyday fuss.

P.S. English is not my native language.

Well done, what can I say? The level of intelligence of my interlocutors, as always, is high. Even in a mediocre Japanese novel about everyday vanity, there is some plot, conflict, at least something interesting, but there is absolutely no development here. The world revolves around the main character, he is always right, he is never wrong, and all his "enemies" are excessively stupid, although in fact there are not even enemies here.

It's just a chill dude farming, having fun, and growing his family whilst being OP. He lives in the calmest region of the continent. If you want conflict read Desolate Era or The God of Slaughter. And how is animals turning into humans, a tournament, building a house, growing the property and having a FUCKING BABY not development?

I do not deny that at first it was quite interesting and fun. But when the plot begins to repeat itself, it is terribly annoying.

P.S. The novels that you recommended are also mediocre, although they had an intriguing beginning.

Desolate Era mediocre? Then what, pray tell, do you consider a good book? And Desolate Era's plot repeats itself a grand total of twice in 4500+ chapters.

I consider Er Gen's works to be a masterpiece, especially: "Renegade Immortal" and "Pursuit of the Truth".

Here are a few more masterpieces: "Reverend Insanity", "The Legendary Mechanic", "Lord of the Mysteries", "Mother of Learning".

And here are some more fairly good novels: "Ze Tan Ji", "Player who returned 10,000 years later", "Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint", "Kingdom's Bloodline".

P.S. There are still a lot of fairly good novels that I can't remember at the moment.

No conflict? Sure for the main character but thats why the novel focus on a lot on side characters so much and conflicts in the story are internal in nature. You know what the characters think and how they are struggling. No plot? The plot is the character intetactions and character growth. If your not into this type of story that's fine. But saying there in no conflict or plot shows that you are very limited in what you think of as conflict and plot.

You mentioned "The Legendary Mechanic" as a masterpiece yet I could say the same thing about it. Any Jap isekai with game mechanics can offer the same thing as it. See how that's poor criticism. The Legendary Mechanic is great because even though a million isekai novels do the same thing it does them much better

There are a lot of jap slice of life that do try what I described but very few do it well. The reason "Beware of Chicken" is getting high ratings is because even though is just following a laid back slice of life format it does it better tit better.

From how shallow your criticism has been it seems to me that you just hate the genre type slice of life. Or can you name a slice of life that you think is a master piece that crushes this novel?

I've read a lot of everyday novels and I don't have a negative attitude towards them. For me, masterpieces from a piece of life are: "Evil-like Duke Household", "Grimgal of Ashes and Illusion".

And here are some good everyday novels: "Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku o", "Oregairu", "The King’s Avatar"

Now about the legendary mechanics, although it contains most of the Japanese stamps, but the implementation of these stamps was beyond praise. And, this work, although it implements some cliches well, which I liked at first, but the subsequent plot began to repeat itself, there are no new events (except for the even greater depravity of the main character's wife) and all this is supplemented by the "genius" of the main character, who NEVER makes mistakes. Volume 2 was the worst sequel to this story.

The novels you mention that I know are great but mostly different genre. Kings Avatar is a closer to a sport novel with only a bit of slice of life. Kono Subarashii is pure slapstick comedy. grimgar of ash and illusion is more action tragedy, mystery, action then slice of life. Only Evil-like Duke Household I would put slice of life as a main tag.

No new events? Your obviously only thinking about Jin and his wife. But your forgetting every other character cause there are new events happening for them that's why book 2 has been like 50 percent other characters. I think you hate these two so much that your applying your critique of them to the story as a whole even though it doesn't work for the rest of the story.

If you hate unexplained "genius" characters so much (I assume you do cause you keep bring it up) then you should hate The Legendary Mechanic. He is perfect at everything from acting to economics and finances to playing politics to nation building even though his back story is just a slightly above average pro gamer. His back story doesn't account for his genius at all. And while its a running joke and pretty funny him touching high luck characters and getting lucky is pure plot armor (which I assume you hate as well since that was a criticism in another comment from you)

Against the background of events in the Legendary Mechanics, this is not particularly noticeable, there is also the "visibility" of some mistakes on the part of the main character. I agree that I have a certain dislike for especially "brilliant" heroes who never make mistakes on their way, although there is such a main character in Legendary Mechanics, but at least it is clear that he achieved this himself, conducts active actions and the like, but the hero of the story we are discussing is cultivated a little, and the rest of the time does almost nothing except show his "genius", talking about some technologies or discussing some philosophy. Volume 2, although dedicated to other characters, proves that there are no more ideas for the development of the plot, which is why there was such a sharp transition to secondary characters, it would be easier to finish the story in volume 1, revealing the characters and writing a good ending.

By the way, here is a list of everyday life: "Seishun Buta Yarou Series", "My Youth Romantic Comedy Is Wrong as I Expected", "About the Reckless Girl Who Kept Challenging a Reborn Man Like Me", "Spice and Wolf", "The Daily Life of the Immortal King".

Wow if you dont think the MC isnt cultivating then you completely missed the point. He his cultivating constantly just he doesnt realize because he is farming at the same time. Give to the earth and the earth gives back using all his energy every day that's his cultivation method. Also farming is doing something...

Also what has he done thats so unbelievably genius? Farming? Most things he done anyone can do with trial and error and super strength helps. As for the philosophy it's pretty basic non violence and power stance. If you think that makes him a genius then uncle ben from spider man must be as well cause he spouted similar basic philosophy.

There was no sharp transition even in the first book it had strong focus on other characters like rooster and cat the brothers so book two doing it a bit more is not surprising especially since everyone is traveling.
Saying there is no development of the plot is once again you just focusing on the main MC. Cause there is a lot of plot development it's just for other characters. Fir example I would argue the rooster is just as main of a character and he is going through a lot plot wise.

If you dont like the plot development of the other character that fine just say so. If you said there was no plot devolment for the MC then I would be okay with that as well. But saying their is no plot devolment at all is just false.

Dont think you posted another comment at least I never got a notification for one. Last notice I got was you stating it disappeared. You probably forgot to post it.

Honestly I dont get your criticism. No plot. Maybe you think the plots bad but saying there is no plot is just false. He's a genius and not cultivating. Obviously he is cultivating and not sure why you think he is a genius unless you think zen basic philosophy equals genius for some reason I dont get it. Or you think him farming well equal genius?

Maybe you have valid points but your so vague so you criticism seem to have nothing backing them. And conveniently your answers disappear.
The few times you were specific you were completely wrong for example you stating MC wasnt cultivating.

Hmm... could you please name a novel that this one is similar to? References please.

Though even if you do that, please note that there are so many novels out there now that there will inevitably be novels with similarities. People can use similar concepts but put their own flavor into it and make it much more interesting.

Also, regarding the plot armor, I assure you that there are other novels with much much thicker plot armors... Novels like those sign-in ones for example... Overpowered systems are another... Or plots where they were outright immortal from the start... What's the point of these novels anyways? Some of them literally repeat their plot of kicking the next more powerful villain X every 10 chapters... and goes on for 1000 chapters swim

At least here his plot armor is actually explained.
Besides, he's literally in the ass end of the cultivation world, the "weakest" region and he came from the "strongest" sect. Even if he was only an ordinary disciple, it is mentioned that the people in the "weakest" region are barely stronger than mortals. Of course he would seem like a Gary Stew... Perspective matters.

There is a plot but it takes awhile to develop, this novel isn't even 100 chapters yet and when you posted the comment it was on chapter 60+ but we already get hints of it. I don't know how far you've read to make a strong decision that there is no plot when you posted your comments. No conflicts is kind of implied... it's a slice-of-life and the reason he went to the Azure Hills is precisely because it is "weak" and thus peaceful without the usual cultivator shenanigans. It's actually refreshing not to read "how dare you oppose XYZ sect!" every 5 chapters...

From your comments it is seems that you prefer action packed novels where the plot is explained within the first 10 or so chapters so you know the general direction of the novel. That means slow paced, slice-of-life novels like this is not quite to your taste. I've read your comments on Er Gen's novels and yes, they are great and I have read and enjoyed them. It's just that they are in a completely different genre compared to this novel despite both being cultivation novels.

Anyways, opinions differ and preferences differ. What you like and what others like are not the same, otherwise everyone will be writing the same kinds of novels and there won't be any variety...

Really deserves this high rating. I read it on RR, but man isn't it just way better than most cultivation stories. Here we have a normal guy who finds himself transmigrated into a cultivation world. He gets the hell out of dodge and decides to farm far away from the cutthroat pill addled psychopathic cultivators.

It was implied but never stated that all the "cultivation pills" they ingested may have addled their minds. Due to the accumulation of impurities that make them more emotionally unstable. I think that is a perfectly reasonable explanation for why other cultivation novel characters are so cutthroat. They are literally doped up to their gills oru2x

To be fair, most of these novels just take an existing picture that looks somewhat close to one of the main characters and call it a day. Hell, most authors don't even ask for permission from the artist. So don't take them too literally.

I think this cover in specific does a very poor job at depicting the story. Bi De is not especially big, and no one rides him into battle. It's a slow-paced, slife of life about making friends and building something together.

I even delayed reading this novel for weeks because I thought it would be about some underpowered cultivator or even mortal mc that rides an OP chicken into battle. The saying comes to mind, "never judge a book by its cover".

I think Bi De will eventually gain the ability to increase his size (if he doesn't already).
        .

Also, I'm not sure that the author was the one who chose the cover picture for this one? Sometimes it is the people re-posting on the different websites who chooses a "suitable" cover picture. So I don't think it's fair to assume straight away that the author is at fault.
