Jin Rou wanted to be a cultivator who defied the heavens, and surpassed all limits.

Unfortunately for him, he died, and now I’m stuck here. Arrogant young masters? Heavenly tribulations? Cultivating for days on end, then getting into life or death battles?

Yeah, no thanks. I’m getting out of here.

In which a transmigrator decides that the only winning move is not to play. Collapse

This novel needs "Take Me Home, Country Roads" on repeat as its background music as you read.

It goes perfect with the idyllic scenes and character interactions.

Totally true, I think it's even mentioned at some point.

For the fight scenes though you need something else:

It's okay. It has its lulls and it's high points. I'll admit to not caring about the MC too much-- he was interesting at first, but I find the other characters like Washi and Bi De more interesting to read about- partly because MC seems to have this aura of perfection around him; which is fine and all, though it can become a bit dull if you're binge-reading, and partly because not much seems to happen around him except business, which I don't enjoy reading about too much.

The dialogue in this novel is pretty good though- I wouldn't call it laugh-out-loud funny, or even chuckle-worthy, but it's consistently entertaining without delving into misunderstanding or overly wacky, turn-brain-off stuff, which slice-of-life novels tend to struggle with a bit. The stuff with flower-lady (whose name I do not remember!) was pretty good in the beginning, and she's maintained her position as my favourite character throughout.

Overall, a good read. It has its ups-and-downs, but it makes for a good time-waster and is a real breath of fresh air from most cultivation novels, and it never feels too repetitive. I'd give it 4 stars.

Overhyped. The fans of this series are like death cultists and can't bear the slightist critique.

This novel is a clever take on the cultivation genre. It's filled with likable characters, whose nuanced motivations and charming interactions help drive this humble story.

If you consider the qualities that best describe this novel -- clever, likable, nuanced, charming, humble -- It's to be expected that anyone lacking in these qualities won't enjoy this story.

tbh, if a story has such readers, then it must've done something right, no?

Probably. Fan is derived from the word fanatic after all. All I'm saying is that when someone gives valid criticism, or even a simple "it's not for me" and gets downvoted into oblivion, that doesn't sit right with me.

eh, don't think about it like that.
Don't care too much for downvotes and upvotes since it just shows who agrees and who disagrees with what u said.

Slighest* also, it's not whether people can bear critique or not but if you call people death cultists and call the novel overhyped without even giving any argument as to why it doesn't deserve such hype you are basically just being a dick for the sake of it. It's like the idiots that spend their day going up to people, insulting/throwing something at them, laughing at how they get angry, and then just going "It's a prank bro".

Many people have given valid criticism of this story in this comment section, and others. Overwhelmingly, they are disparraged by the majority. I gave no argument, and only stated things as I saw it. If you deem them to be malicious, do with that information as you will. I do, however, appreciate being checked on my spelling. That's one of the most important things to check someone on when having a casual discussion on the internet.
