I've only read first volume so far, and this is really good. I especially love MC and his relationship with his pets-cum-disciples. Only fault in first volume i felt was that the relationship btw mc and MeiMei developed very fast, but I guess it can be chalked to suspension bridge effect when you've overdose of loneliness having someone you can talk your heart to would be good to be around albeit she isn't around MC for all that much. I honestly feel human interactions to be kind of forced where MC is acting more like joker but it's alright, I just love interactions of pets and their inner monologues. Gonna wait for author to release volume 2 on amazon to read.

A really relaxing read. I really liked how each and every character has depth. Story does revolve around the mc but appropriate focus is give to characters around the mc. Each and everyone of them is endearing in some way.
World is similar to that of xianxia but is shown in a different perspective to the templates, that there is ruthlessness in cultivation but it does not need to be justified. Story is slow but engaging with its heartwarming moments. Sheesh I feel a bit jealous of Jin yet at the same time happy for him and every other character.

This is the perfect novel if you're tired of young masters, face-slapping, and many of the common stereotypes found in cultivation novels. I will admit that the first volume while great, can feel slow at points. However, if you stay strong and keep reading until the second volume then I promise you that you won't regret it. The story gets much better in the second volume, especially the last twenty or so chapters.
