Julian Weber is an officer in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and a graduate of Westpoint Military Academy with a degree in civil engineering. As U.S. involvement in Afghanistan comes to an end, Lt. Julian Weber finds himself involved in a terrorist attack by the Taliban, which claims his life.

    I have a sneaking suspicion that im reading a story about/ written by, a homophobic, misogynistic/patriarchal, nazi sympathiser...

    It's not spelled out in obvious fashion (like some Chinese novels) , but there are some parts that makes you go, hmmmm.....

    Like That creepy feeling u get when you watch a leader of a hate group who dressed like a gentleman & talks in 10 dollar words say, something eerily similar to supremacist ideology. He makes it sound very tame & justifies his hatred under the guise of protecting ones family, heritage, identity... while completely omits the part where ppl who are different from him would suffer because of his ideas.

    There are a lot of subtle messaging throughout the novel.
    And Chapter 248 has only deepened my suspicion, and raised the Nazi factor to Joseph Goebbels levels

    We'll see... how the story develops. But as if now the story is pretty SUS

      Ah yes, German Imperialism = Nazis. Learn the f#cking difference before commenting.

      The author is writing a story about f#cking middle ages, where the MC is now a f#cking emperor. Power corrupts, obviously the MC will act like that when there's nothing stopping him. Preaching equal rights for women, different races, and sexual orientations will do him no good and will instead just be detrimental, so why should he bother and doom himself. You'd just be a big moron to do that.

      Even Byzantines act like superiors to everyone. He's born a german noble, it's a pretty easy and obvious choice to unite germans and create a sense of german superiority in his domain. It's great for propaganda and maintaining unity. All countries used to do that, go read history, it's called nationalism. Just because it's done in Germany doesn't mean it's nazi.
