With the rising tide of steam power and machinery, who can come close to being a Beyonder? Shrouded in the fog of history and darkness, who or what is the lurking evil that murmurs into our ears?

Waking up to be faced with a string of mysteries, Zhou Mingrui finds himself reincarnated as Klein Moretti in an alternate Victorian era world where he sees a world filled with machinery, cannons, dreadnoughts, airships, difference machines, as well as Potions, Divination, Hexes, Tarot Cards, Sealed Artifacts…

The Light continues to shine but mystery has never gone far. Follow Klein as he finds himself entangled with the Churches of the world — both orthodox and unorthodox — while he slowly develops newfound powers thanks to the Beyonder potions.

Like the corresponding tarot card, The Fool, which is numbered 0 — a number of unlimited potential — this is the legend of «The Fool». Collapse

Damn, my brain is going to explode at this rate. ohno
    There's too much infodump.....
    I'm in chp20 and here's an example::
(The author's description of five pounds)
He received the notes and discovered that two of them were in five pound denominations and two of them were in one pound denominations. All of them had a gray background and were inked in black. The four corners had complicated patterns and special ink to prevent counterfeiting.

The former notes were slightly bigger and in the middle of them was Loen Kingdom’s fifth king, George III’s direct ancestor, Henry Augustus I. He wore a white hair band above his rotund face. His eyes were slender and he had an abnormally serious expression. However, Klein felt an indescribably sense of closeness to him.

    This was a five-pound note!

It’s almost equal to four weeks of Benson’s salary!

In the middle of the one-pound note was George III’s father, the former king, William Augustus VI. This mighty figure had a thick mustache and a firm gaze. While he was in power, he freed the Loen Kingdom from the shackles of the old order, allowing his nation to regain the pinnacle spot.

    Seriously?? frost
Please someone tell me it has been solved in later chps, if not I'm dropping this...

The first arc is a bit slow and very descriptive (210 chapters), but it just gives a detailed explanation of the basic understanding and logic of the world. It does get lessened later on, especially to give readers their own opportunity to guess or infer about the plot/world around them. If you can hold on for a bit, you should be able to come out loving this story and the world, especially with how cohesive it is to what the author mentions as a foundation in the first arc. boast welldone

          A little advice from me,
Everything in this novel, I mean literally everything that happens or is portrayed has a meaning to it, yes even that 10 pond note description, how? You might ask, I won't spoil it for you, eventually you will come accross the reason as to why.
Though it may take a long time and you might have forgotten it so don't take note of these small details.
Besides, when I say this I mean it, when you will be nearing the end of this novel, you would wish that it won't end and somehow more chapters just get added, believe me on this one.
          Anyway, happy read to you~

              Endure my friend!

It gets exponentially better as you progress through the novel. The worldbuilding is gradual but you'll regret it if you skip the beginning. Not to mention, the ending of the first volume was pretty epic! Worth it just to get there.

OP, as in over-powered, then no. Extremely powerful to the point of having few to few opponents capable of opposing him, yeah. But he does struggle at every step of the way, even when he's at the end, it's just the level of the struggle and its impact on his surroundings keeps getting elevated.

I've been trying to read some reviews since people are hyping this so much but the amount of people saying "You should just read rather than me spoiling it" is insane, I'm completely clueless about this novel and wanna know more about before I regret but it seems nah.

The reason was actually pretty simple spoiling it takes away the fun because discovering it yourself is more enjoyable rather than hearing it from others though the volume 1 is slow because it ends in 210 chapters and if you manage to read past it you will be in for a ride because the entire volume 1 is the build-up/framework for an epic adventure that was about to come in following chapters.

As a supporter of the novel and decency i hope you never comment again and go take therapy for anger issues.
You sound like someone who defends celebrities who do shitty stuff and spends thousands of dollars doing simping. because that's what you're doing - being a brainless simp and insulting someone who just wrote what he felt the book was like for him.

BE WARNED, to those who haven't read this yet and is here due to both hype and recommendations. The first book (around 200 chapters) is VERY SLOW, almost glacial. Don't get me wrong, this part is both important and still engaging as you see the world open up before you, BUT, it can't be denied that this part is very slow.

At around chapter 180, it starts to pick up, you feel it, then it ends the first book with a BANG! Even now after years, I still remember the first book's ending.

After that though, it ramps up EXPONENTIALLY that you'll find it difficult to put the book down.

Great series, be warned about the slow beginning so you know what you're getting into.
    Enjoy.

Hate to sound like a broken record but, obviously "one of the best web novels ever read!" AND similar books to fill the void as you wait for LOTM2&3
--I'm really not the demon god's larkey
    --Release That Witch.
Ps: I'd appreciate it if you gave me more suggestions. Preferably, negligible-zero romance would be nice.
