With the rising tide of steam power and machinery, who can come close to being a Beyonder? Shrouded in the fog of history and darkness, who or what is the lurking evil that murmurs into our ears?

Waking up to be faced with a string of mysteries, Zhou Mingrui finds himself reincarnated as Klein Moretti in an alternate Victorian era world where he sees a world filled with machinery, cannons, dreadnoughts, airships, difference machines, as well as Potions, Divination, Hexes, Tarot Cards, Sealed Artifacts…

The Light continues to shine but mystery has never gone far. Follow Klein as he finds himself entangled with the Churches of the world — both orthodox and unorthodox — while he slowly develops newfound powers thanks to the Beyonder potions.

Like the corresponding tarot card, The Fool, which is numbered 0 — a number of unlimited potential — this is the legend of «The Fool». Collapse

It's a 9/10 for me. I recommend this novel for all Author POV readers. The first few chapters are boring and info dumps but as you continue reading those info dumps will be very crucial. The world building is awesome similar to World's Apocalypse Online. Mc starts off very weak but he gains strength slowly and becomes OP. Mc doesn't do some random bs Goku power up but insteads work for his strength. I almost forgot to mention that Mc is cunning, cold hearted, and calculative. I won't spoil it for new readers but I'mma just say that this novel is full of twists and turns and everything is really unexpected

Yeah I've noticed and I even know the reason why. The reason why webnovel novels aren't updating is because about 2-3 weeks ago Webnovel updated their security system that blocks others from stealing chapters from novels. There are a few websites like panda-novel that was able to bypass their latest system. Ranobes is currently having a tough time bypassing their system so yeah. It's gonna be rocky for awhile but ranobes are able to acquiysome chapters every now and then but I'll advise you to check the website panda-novel.

yeah they didn't update security features, they simply removed the ability to gain fast passes on browser therefore completely pulling the plug on all sites. also i think panda novel is buying premium and paying for everything seeing that there is only 1 moderator and only a few well known/ popular novels are being updated and many are not even present.

Even though the review is positive it is not accurate and can be misleading... I mean the guy called Klein Moretti cold hearted and cunning.

Your review is not completely accurate. You see, if you have properly read the novel, then you will know that Klein is NOT cold-hearted, but IS ruthless. There is a difference between the two. A cold-hearted is unfeeling and Klein is, in no way, unfeeling.
He is ruthless, yes, as he doesn't show pity and is merciless to his enemies. So, your review can be a bit misleading for readers who do not like cold-hearted characters.

It's just... mind-blowing. Cuttlefish is a mad lad for writing a story of this caliber. It is very slow in the beginning. Trust me, I know since it took me a while to get used to it. BUT! However slow it might be, as long as you can read till the end of the 1st volume, you will most DEFINITELY get hooked to it! Cuz I definitely did! So read it and just like us... come to love it!

Yeah, the first volume almost has the feel of a prequel. It's not, just to clarify. But good god, the story just went from China to Jupiter the moment the last few chapters of volume 1 started.

No, really trust me, it's really fckin good. It's one of the few stories that came off as more than just a fun read to pass time for me. The world build is just amazing along with the plot. A bit slow paced and but for me, it felt like its one of the charms when I read the first chap. Long paragraphs and very descriptive but it makes the world seem more realistic and actually gives you enough info to think and process things on your own instead of having everything spelt out for you. Actually, it was the first time in a while that I felt like I was actually living inside the story. I'm sure you'll start to fall in love with it the more you read.

I tried reading this because a lot of people said it was good. Some did say that the pacing in the beginning is kind slow, but honestly, I didn't mind that, but when I got into reading the Novel....

Let's just say that I'm kind of dissatisfied.

I'm sure this'll get better later on, but in the beginning, there's just too much information being given to us, that's it's getting too hard to process all of it.

    It's just...too overwhelming...

I don't get the "too much information" part? I mean, it's a pretty slow novel for the first volume so I don't know if there are any egregious info dumps?

This is the closest as a book quality fiction you'll ever get by reading Chinese web novels and I've been reading for over a decade now.

    +Dense but good prose
+The cast/characters are well rounded and they mature throughout the span of 3 years
    +Excellent world building
+Explores a lot of themes but never gets too lost with that
+Well researched power system and the best out of all the fiction I've read
    +Good translations

-Bloat and padding as most Chinese novels suffer but this one pads by describing the mundanity of the protag's life making you feel like it's a slice of life novel

Only 3 fiction had left me completely empty after finishing it this one, Mother of Learning and The Wheel of Time. This fic will go down as my one of favourites and I can't wait for my physical copy to arrive.

Sorry if my English is bad, I'm French:

"Lord of the Mysteries" is a good novel that easily fits into my top 10. Here is my opinion, on its good sides, as on its bad:

Positives: An original universe, here our MC will not come back to life in a world that is at the time of the Middle Ages, but at the time of the industrial revolution. The supernatural side of this world is also hidden from the general public, while containing its unique parts. The Tarot Club as well as the secret identity that our MC uses by being its leader also makes it the strong point of the novel. The mysteries of this world are full of secrets that we and the MC will uncover over the course of the story, which is a change from the majority of novels which mostly center on the progression of the protagonist's strength. Humor and also at the rendezvous as well as the horror scenes that will send shivers down your spine. A must read.

Negative: Yes, even an excellent novel like "Lord of the Mysteries" has its errors, which fans don't mind. First, the description of the fights which, at the beginning, are easy to follow but which become more and more complicated to understand as the MC and his enemies become stronger and stronger. Indeed the supernatural powers of this story are original and bizarre, which is both the strength and the weakness of this novel. The more powerful the characters in this novel, the more complicated and bizarre their abilities. That they use this kind of powers to solve certain problems will not confuse us because the author explains their complex abilities well. But this kind of abilities in the fights between powerful are so numerous that they are easily lost, which makes the fights from the middle until the end of the novel very confusing to follow. Secondly, the author gives explanations in whole paragraphs to stuff our heads with theories about the story, which means that we often have to reread the same part several times to understand it. The explanatory parts where the MC solves mysteries are too compact which makes them complicated to understand. The author should have given these explanations little by little in the story so that we take the time to digest them. Finally, third, the Tarot Club is not developed enough, which is a shame because it is one of the strong points of the novel.

Conclusion: Overall a good novel that must be read despite some flaws, I recommend it
