Буквально десятки и десятки глав рассказывают историю мира и она просто забита огромного количества персонажей, которые никак не влияют на сюжет. Сама история мира также никак не влияет на сюжет, но автор очень много о ней пишет, пытаясь создать глубины этому миру.
И всё же самое ужасное, это желание автора объяснить каждую мысль персонажей, каждое их действие.
Выглядит это примерно следующим образом: Ван Вэй сделал шаг. Из-за своего роста он мог сделать шаг лишь на 43 сантиметра, а учитывая его ступню, шаг был твёрдым. С его красотой, очаровывашей всех мужчин и женщин, этот шаг был невероятным. В момент своего шага, он думал о вселенной, о дао, жизни и смерти. В момент этого шага, все обратили на него внимание. Мужчины хватались за мечи, а женщины теряли сознание. Этим шагом он давал понять, что ему нет равных...
Надеюсь вы поняли, что я имею в виду. Тут слишком много пояснений каждому действию и бесконечные возвращения в историю. Я устал от этого.

Although I like the story so far, I think having a different antagonist instead of the Grand Dao, aka “Heaven,” would have made the story much better. I don’t like it when cultivation stories always end up pitting the protagonist against Heaven—everything they have comes from the world, so how could they defeat it?The same goes for showing us his future self. At least for me, it fails to build any tension in the story. It would have been better if we hadn’t seen his future self, especially his transcended version. Keeping him even being able to transcend a mystery would have made the story more engaging.

I’m just ranting, but technically speaking the Puppet Dao is very under utilized and under developed. This world only focus’s on crafting puppet as the Puppet Dao, and no exploration on puppetry of others. Like if you had your main Dao as Puppet, but sub Daos as Control, Thievery, Freedom, etc. You could control others instead of puppet artifacts. This kind of idea also applies to the other production Daos as they are strictly refined in the idea of crafting, the only exception so far is Totem Warriors
