This novel, I really don't know how to feel about it. The best mc you could ever find is right there, a ruthless and consistent mc that doesn't turn good or change, an original and good story, very interesting side-characters, a clear cultivation system, a calculative and cunning mc, all of those things in one novel so why is it so frustrating to read. This is probably the worst novel you could read yet it could of been so much more. It has everything a novel needs to be one of the best novels to ever exist, but it's not. The amount of disappointment I went through reading this novel is unreal. This is the top novel to ever exist with this many amount of fillers and dragged story line. In almost every chapter they have to bring yet another filler to the story, honestly more than half of the novel is fillers and I'm not even exaggerating. To sum it up this novel to me was like reading all of the backstories of every character in the novel, after chapter 1000 you will even be confused who is the main character in the story. I'm just writing this out of frustration for this novel and how much time has been wasted in hopes that the story would be magically fixed in the later chapters, but unfortunately I dropped this novel at the 2003 chapter. I could only blame myself for sticking through for that long to finally crush my hopes at the end. This has been by far the best mc I have ever seen which was the reason I was here for that long, but unfortunately things don't go as you hope most of the time and I can't do nothing about it. I couldn't help but right this down just to let off some steam cause I've been here for so long, goodnight.

this is actually a bold review and very justifiable. so far, I am currently in chapter 40, and my first criticism of this novel is that some phrases or descriptive phrases make the chapter just long and make it rather unnecessary. but all in all, it's a very good read. also, I appreciate this review so much because I'd rather listen to personal yet supported claims than objective yet unrealistic ones.

Bro, if not for half of your comment praising the novel, you’d have been swarmed long ago by RI’s rapid-fire fans. Lol.

My experience with Reverend Insanity was pretty similar to yours... at least close enough to where you dropped it.

the author started a new novel that he has to finish to resume writing RI, so we have to wait 2-3 years.

He was banned from writing any more of the novel by the Chinese Govt. I'm pretty sure.

I haven't read the novel fully and I don't remember exactly what the reasoning I read about was so take this with a grain of salt, but iirc it was due to the prominence of a gay character in a positive way.

Thinking back on it I might be mixing up the reasoning with another popular novel that was banned.

Yup it was due to "cultural issues". My guess is that it was because of the fact that the novel revolves around a character that takes down governments and disregards the systems and laws. That is a dangerous idea to spread in china.

Yea its because of that it got banned, also around this time, the legendary mechanic's author was going to put in thag silver revolution arc where a group of guys revolt against the government but he changes his mind, and that arc was never written in the novel cuz he was afraid his novel might get banned too, some of the characters and moments of RI also had uncanny resemblance to names and situations happening in china, probably also why it got banned.
