Julian Weber is an officer in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and a graduate of Westpoint Military Academy with a degree in civil engineering. As U.S. involvement in Afghanistan comes to an end, Lt. Julian Weber finds himself involved in a terrorist attack by the Taliban, which claims his life.

However, he quickly finds out that death is not always final as he is reincarnated into the body of a Baron’s son and heir in an alternate Earth set in Late-Medieval Europe. In an era of political turmoil and civil strife, the Baron’s young son is named Regent of the Barony of Kufstein and forced to contend with feudal powers. Will he be able to institute reforms leading his Barony into the age of industry?

Or will he succumb to the pressure of his feudal overlords and a corrupt church that seek dominion overall? Collapse

    Surprisingly good.

I loved "Release that Witch" up until the part where
and i always wanted to read similar novels but had no luck so far.

This novel scratches that itch for me. Its not as good as the aforementioned novel, but its very entertaining. One of the better kingdom buildings novels i've read.

The Harem is just a fiancée and a mistress and it is well pieced together. They arent useless or bland characters like other novels often do and they complement the MC in a good manner.

The story takes place in Austria and i assume later in Germany and is well thought and well written. There are many different factions like other dukes, counts, viscounts, barons, also the teutonic knights and the church, the byzantines, etc.

The only aspect i could criticize is that a lot of things happen in a short period of time so it might feel rushed to some of you, but it wasnt that big of a deal to me.

I have read until chapter 157 and definitely recommend it.

THAU

Thoroughly enjoy kingdom building and to be honest this novel reminds me in part of the novel “Release that Witch”. Both stories have reincarnated engineers and both fighting against the church and so forth. Regardless it does have an interesting world building focus of early medieval Europe as the time period. The personality change of the MC is pretty drastic and I wonder if it is a bit to extreme overall. Time will tell if it doesn’t come back and bite him.
So, I’ve read up to the current chapter available (147) and feel impatient I need to await the next few chapters to catch up.

Looking forward to the next ones.

this story is so amazing it was free about3 days ago and then the author got premium??
if i should tell u about the story it's awesome the prtagonist is smart and unlike other novels where the mc just develops tomahawk in few days this novel takes it slow and this is what most interesting
it has a harem but with just two girls unlike others this harem has quite a bit of wholesome and notty moments in it
    to be fair its amazing
u gotta read this if u are into kingdom building

I am into kingdom building and looking for more since it was hard find something good. I hope harem doesn't destroy the story

lmao Americans invade Afghanistan and when they are repelled by the Taliban they are called terrorists', well it's not like it matters that much innit. They've been trying since 2011 but never succeeded.

the military failure and the massive waste of money in Afghanistan pretty much caused the economic downfall of the USSR. It put economical pressure that further lead to political collapse.

That's the opposite for the US. Afghanistan is used purely as force projection in the middle east. The US doesn't really give a shit about Afghanistan. At most it was going to be a puppet state where military bases would be placed to pressure other "hostile" states.

The Taliban hasn't really gained anything from the recapture of Afghanistan as US involvement in the place was already minimal. At most they get broken down military equipment that the US didn't bother to ship back. If the US wanted to keep Afghanistan, there was no chance of losing it.

The funny thing was that the Taliban expected everything to be the "same", where the US would treat it the same way as its puppet government. LUL.

This novel's depiction of war is just that. Everyone uses religion and morals to declare for their own selfish reasons.

Kingdom building is always a sweet plus but I personally feel rather let down by the plot progression in the harem. Its unique yes.. but having the circulated cultivation would've made it for a more intriguing read🤔. pressure
