Have you ever wished you exactly knew how to accomplish your dreams? Not feeling the slightest doubt anymore? Being aware at any time how every choice, action and decision of yours affects your future?

That’s what happened to Jake Wilderth, a procrastinating young man without ambition. When a mysterious silver spaceship, popping out from nowhere, delivered to each Earthling a bracelet containing an AI introducing itself as the Oracle, their destiny changed.

From a boring uneventful life Jake began to strive for greatness, treading his Path over the dead bodies of many.

What a blessing it would have been if he was the only one profiting of such a gift! But when everyone became equal to face the future, he soon realized no gift comes for free… Collapse

The novel was good for the first few hundred chapters (first and second ordeal) then the story just took a dive down to the point where i just didn’t care about what was going on anymore. Author also uses boring rape plots to make retarded villains. PS i think author is a cuck

I agree that the first few hundred chapters are great and then it drops off, but let me elaborate why:

    1. Indeed, all of the f#cking antagonists are rapey bastards. Look, I understand rape is a good way of showing someone's an asshole who deserves much worse than the death penalty, but when literally everyone is a rapey bastard, it gets boring and stale. There's many other ways of showing someone is a terrible person, and there are even ways to create compassion for a villain; maybe someone who lost his family to police brutality and governmental incompetence, maybe someone whose child was drafted into their country's army for a war waged for petty reasons like greed, etc. Not every antagonist has to be someone who is one-dimensionally evil.
    2. The progression also gets stale. Lets say he finishes an Ordeal(Basically a trial for strength). The enemies he will now have will have finished one more Ordeal than him. Now, let's say he does another Ordeal. The enemies we see from then on will still be exactly one more Ordeal above him. This gives a sort of monotony to the story, like a level-balanced game; even if you're level 100, the lvl 1 mobs get bumped up to lvl 100 and you never get the feeling of one-shotting the mobs that once gave you so much trouble. This story is the same, it doesn't feel like he's getting stronger even if he is. Everyone else is always stronger than he is, and it's so boring.

TL;DR: The story gets boring and stale because it uses the same plot arc over and over again; Jake meets a rapey bastard who is stronger than him, he does an Ordeal or gets stronger somehow, maybe kills rapey bastard, and he meets another rapey bastard, who is stronger than him. It's repetitive and stupid.

    I'm dropping this novel.

Sad that up to the end of the First Ordeal, things had been damn good.
In the Second Ordeal, it started nice, fell by a lot with silly things like Jake's [Women Alergy] supreme skill and his many 'accidents' to force things... only to end like shit after the Rachel-like sl*t appeared.
After that... wow, it was so bad that I can't even remember anymore, how great \o/

Okay, that's fine I guess. Last question, is the MC bearable? Not a puppet of author's desire/not idiotic/not suddenly losing braincells due to God knows what reason is? I don't mean anything bad but if the MC is bearable then I'll start. (I'd even accept if he's ordinary guy with ordinary way of thinking, just not stupid with random shift of character) I just need him to be bearable and I'll finish it to the end.

Well he does end up becoming a bit bipolar and does very odd and random things but the 1st 100 chapters are good especially the "1st ordeal" so I would suggest reading and finishing the First 2 arcs if you are interested in a mind bending world and universe

Not really. We're told he is, and he ends up finishing pretty strong in each ordeal, but it's more tell than show. The vast majority of his encounters just show him getting punked left and right. You can tell an Ordeal is getting ready to end when he stops completely embarrassing himself against his opponents.

good question but no, the mc doesn't have a girlfriend, he's a f#cking monk, honestly it's frustrating that in the novel, the author always undoes all the mc's love interests, with the distorted personality that the mc has...

I agree, in the beginning it showed that this novel would be incredible, but I think the author chose for money, on the webnovel website, the author said last year that he was in a terrible financial situation, sick and without housing, so maybe he chose to join the populism, so much so that the other novel must have everything a young person wants, action, romance, comedy and pg 18

Is this actually a good story, or is this just a bunch of good ideas mashed together with mediocre writing? Seems like the latter just from the comments I've read, but I'd be happy to get some confirmation so I can either finally read this or knock it off my lists.

The main story is good just extremely slow cause of all the ordeals at about 150+ chapter each, MC gets a little power up each one but the story sees basically no progress at all. That said, both the writing and world building is top tier and ordeals is pretty unique. Just can't get over the fact that the story seems to standstill which is why I dropped it for now, maybe pick up after I know the next ordeal is finished written.

Well the writing is good the idea's are cool the world is AMAZING but the author is sick

with the chinese dragma it when a author drags a single arc for way too long sometimes 100 of chapters while that can be painful it can be good with case like reverend insanity and what not where the whole plot is well thought out. That is not the case here the author also suffer from level retardation where the MC getting stronger does not mean much at all as the enemies become as strong as him in fact stronger sometimes

Started great but the more the story continues, the more the MC looks spineless? in front of his real enemies. I mean he continues to neglect them after being almost killed, just because it's risky. He's got stronger power and even more resources and yet he forgets their threat after not completely finishing them off. Like his first original enemies, the criminal mercenaries. It's almost nearing chapter 800 and he didnt even kill them off, not realizing they're getting stronger too. They're even a threat to him, how much more his comrades. Author just trying to hide it through good words but MC havent really killed his rivals even though their evil and weaker.

Sarah wasn't acting like a bitch. Her bloodline was influencing her behaviour. Jake was the one acting like a bastard and hypocrite. He already has a god send gift to purify and merge two really strong bloodlines. Even then his behaviour was influenced. You would imagine how one less lucky than Jake would be. Instead of manning up dealing with it , Jake decided to act like a little bitch and ignore the obvious problem from the start. Instead he left it to grow worse until he had a good "reason" to not have to deal with his responsibilities. I quite liked Sarah as a character given how she was able to adapt to the new environment and get over her bitchy and snobby character. Too bad the author doesn't know how to write characters and decided to evict every girl that gets close to Jake. As if Jake is any model individual. Even after 3 ordeals he still can't be bothered to act remotely like a leader. We are repeatedly told how factions are important and how Jake will be known in the future as a fearsome leader. Unfortunately the author is all tell and no show. Couldn't be bothered to continue reading the novel of an author the shirks from his responsibilites , lies to the readers and can't be bothered to write two half decent characters.

You're right but still, Sarah leaving the team just because seems out of character and very random, making her look bad.

Like I said I enjoyed her character as she came off from this "literal who side character" to this very spunky and headstrong girl which got dumpstered by the author because reasons.

As I said the author is straigth bad. The only reason this novel has any following is because that interesting idea of Oracle Paths (even though they need a lot of polishing before being good as a story tool). The character development and in concequence the plot development skills of the author are non-existent. I can't understand how this story is still getting so much clout.

I still haven't gotten over it, it was a horrible development for a character that had developed very well in the novel, even in the first popularity poll that came out she was in second place... it seems the author was afraid of that and decided to discard the character, honestly, it was ridiculous.

Wait really, i mean i know why she was so popular even i loved her so much that jake being a neandthrall with 0 common sense telling her "i will buy you another island" when her blew and then not even addressing the problem made me stop reading for a whole day.
And now i find out she get kicked out because reasons? like i swear the author has it out for the other side characters like Kyle was also good i haven't gotten into the 3rd ordeal yet but he really did kyle dirty but i won't be surprised if he mess him up too
