On the way to a company workshop, we fell into a world of immortal cultivators while still in the car.

Those with spiritual roots and unique abilities were all called to join cultivation sects, living prosperously.

But I, having neither spiritual roots nor special abilities, lived as an ordinary mortal for 50 years, complying with fate until my death.

That’s what I thought.

Until I regressed. Collapse

Good novel, but it’s just not my cup of tea. The MC suddenly becomes emotional starting his 3rd reincarnation and becomes a dramatic cry-fest with tears in their eyes every now and then. However, this is a weird Korean Xianxia following Chinese plot devices. The plot is only advanced with three things that are repeated over and over again:

1- MC dies and reincarnates, saving the memories/understanding of the cultivation he did allowing for quick cultivation.

2- Using his friend to cultivate a manual, which he’ll pass on to his friend at each reincarnation to improve it.

3- Dies a dramatic death trying to break through; “somehow” this struggle will give him the enlightenment he needs to cultivate further in the next life.

The switch to drama and constant repeats killed this novel for me, especially when we know for a fact that the MC could use a lifetime to find a heavenly fruit or records of it, then use it to improve his talent in cultivation, solving this cycle and the waste of time. But no, our MC is against using immortal alchemy because they use people as ingredients. Had to resist rolling my eyes whenever this was mentioned. Let alone we are just looking for heavenly fruits even if he did use people as ingredients no one will be hurt because you’re actually in a cycle; you’re already cultivating by exploiting X or Y for their cheap labor, just stop being a f#cking cunt and cultivate properly.

Not consuming people for power is called having a bottom line, the moment one breaks that line they create a precedent for such things, falling into a hole of no return.

No. It's called getting pedantic. According to your logic every reincarnation he needs to save all humanity twice over before his natural death. The people are already dead, the medicine are already there. That's like saying we should burn all the research results made by the Nazis after WWII, that would've set us back CENTURIES.

Pedantic POV IRL and novel and is used to moralise stupidity.

You need to understand that life isn't a maths problem, if it is not rational then it must be irrational, besides that did you even read my comment? i literally said that not consuming people for power is the bottom line, if he breaks it then that means there is another chance he will break his bottom line in the future, that's the reason why people value consistency over talent, if you are willing to take a break from your goals once, what prevents you from doing it again and again and again?

And don't try to use the fact that he will regress to say it doesn't matter, you are going to die in the future, does that mean what you are doing now is worthless?

Yes "don't even try to use the only thing that will make my whole argument trash!"

Mate wake up. It's a fantasy world and he had all the keys, what does he do? The worst option ever, wasting COUNTLESS lives of people he could've saved, and people he supposedly loved. Heck he could've spent a Lifetime learning alchemy to prevent make a better elixir etc? Does he do that? Ofc not, why not because the plot is like a Swiss cheese, filled with holes like this.

You are not even reading my comments properly, i GAVE you the reason why that argument is senseless as to not waste time of either of us.

The worst option ever, wasting COUNTLESS lives of people he could've saved, and people he supposedly loved.

How? What did he do or didn't do that wasted countless lives of people?

Heck he could've spent a Lifetime learning alchemy to prevent make a better elixir etc? Does he do that?

Yes, he could have done that, but mind i tell you what he did instead of that? He solved the problem that was plaguing him
in literally the next regression by doing something that had already been done instead of trying to create a magic drug that could increase his lifespan that doesn't need to kill humans to be made, we don't even know if that's possible.

Yes, I did read your argument, but that doesn’t mean I’ll accept your flawed logic as law. Heck, I even started my review by mentioning that this is not my cup of tea because of the pedantic and hypocritical emotions the author tries to integrate, merely to pad his word limit. Knowing fully well that this review is not intended for you, you still come here trying to argue with me about why the MC is this or that, even though you fully acknowledge that all these boundaries and garbage are limits that the MC made up to drag on the story.

The MC spent almost four reincarnations doing NOTHING but waiting for death as he just hands the cultivation manual to his friend. Are you telling me that he couldn’t spare just one reincarnation to dedicate his life to alchemy?

The heaven’s rejection was a much later plot device, which is completely unrelated to the author’s consistent and boring use of “emotions” because the previous cycles DO NOT EXIST. They have no repercussion on the past or the present. This is much like the simulator genre, except the MC gets involved, and the novel becomes boring.

Tell me where my logic is flawed.

Tell me why the emotions in this novel are hypocritical.

Tell me how can a REVIEW be exclusive to only people with the same ideals as the review.

I not once stated why the MC is this or that, i told you what he did and why he did something.

I do not acknowledge that, you are acknowledging that for me.

The MC spent almost four reincarnations doing NOTHING but waiting for death as he just hands the cultivation manual to his friend. Are you telling me that he couldn’t spare just one reincarnation to dedicate his life to alchemy?

Saying that he did nothing is factually wrong, he spent every second of those lives trying to achieve his goals especially the later ones, if he did not do what he did then what else is he supposed to do?.

I don't understand why he should spend a whole life on alchemy, he can't do it before becoming a cultivator, after becoming a cultivator why should he waste his time on alchemy when he has limited talent instead of focusing on cultivation? Why do you think that he will be able to achieve something that hasn't previously happened in a method with a history of over 500,000 years as a minimum?

The heaven’s rejection was a much later plot device, which is completely unrelated to the author’s consistent and boring use of “emotions” because the previous cycles DO NOT EXIST. How can you say that they don't exist, does the PAST not effect you, is the PAST not what cumilates into what you are today, defining your very existence?

And you still did not answer the question i asked previously.

It's a difference in mindset. I consider yours to be boring and dull and I have made that abundantly clear, similar to the differences between Confucianism and Buddhism. You like Buddha, be my guest. But I prefer MCs that are mature and act like people would in the real world.

That told your outlook on me, and your preferences, but you didn't answer a single question of mine.

Besides that, nobody in real life would spend a whole life practicing alchemy or anything similar, people in real life are mostly lazy, they have the power the completely change their lives but they don't do it, they can exercise daily majority don't, they can stop eating junk food majority don't, they can leave behind addicting things like YouTube, Instagram, tik tok behind majority don't, we, the people, naturally crave comfort and happiness.

Most, majority, of the real people would not do the things you stated.

I don't agree with your first statement , but the second, that is true, I am simply frustrated that he kept deflecting my questions with statements that had no reason given with them or repeatedly misinterpreting my comments in a way that is not possible by simply reading it.

Besides that i believe you have not gotten the full picture of his beliefs, yes he is with improving yourself and moving forward in life, but he doesn't consider having a moral compass, he believes that the MC should do anything to improve his strength as time resets, but how can the MC know that every regression isn't the last one, we know because we are the readers, can he deduct it by considering that he has experienced multiple loops? No, because before nobody ever looped before, looping for him is an equally unprecedented phenomenon it stopping would be.

Simply put, he knows every loop can be the last one and he lives as such.

There is a book, that describes the perfect world of cultivation for you.
      "My Longevity Simulation".
Mc has no bottom line, the whole world is revolving around consuming and not understanding for cultivation.
And there is no drama. Mc is cold and old.

    This is peak;

peak emotional aspect, a sprinkle of unknown and mystery, with perhaps the best comprehensions and enlightenments, top tier story telling, peak world building, peak story telling and character growth, with a heavy emphasis on fate. The combination of these result in a work that can go past the boundaries of 'fantasy' and sometimes raise questions in our minds.

I myself read this, thinking a mere 200 chapters would be finished in a day and then I can read two more novels before reading a 'peak' ( in this case, the oracle paths) and I legit got stuck in this one, the lengthy chapters took me by surprise and the characters and their interactions with each other made me emotionally invested in their stories and I had no choice but to click on the next button time and time again.

Note: I would highly recommend this book, if you have not read it, this is as far as you should go; since I will delve into the book now.

However, there is one main problem and a number of minor problems.

The main problem being his 'time' of ascension; I believe there was still much more to explore in the head world. Here are some examples of matters that should have been addressed:

    1. Kim hyung: The timeline mc ascended was the first time that Kim Hyung was guaranteed to get a longevity fruit, basically quintupling the time mc and him could spend together. At the very least, one life should have been spent here to find out his limit. Not to mention that since Kim Hyung can create and master multiple techniques during combat, he can be used create counter techniques to every single technique that mc would find difficult to deal with.

    2. Colorless glass sword and artistry experience: As we know this artificact is still incomplete and 600 more needs to be made for it to get completed. But what if instead of glass swords, mc creates bronze swords, iron swords, gold swords or treasured swords; ( I don't remember the exact numbers but combining a number of these glass swords would create each of these swords, for example, if all 3000 swords combined together, it would become one single treasured sword)
so like what will happen if 3000 gold swords combined?
Matter of fact why even stop here, what if mc creates 12 960 000 and condense each 3600 to make one treasure sword, now it would be 3600 treasure sword each with the 3 forms introduced for the glass swords... like 3600 heaven? And if they can be even further condensed...
Which is why I think he should have either raised his artistry experience or made tons of glass swords and actually see the limits of this artifact.

    3. Serving command space, fate and exploration (hopefully I didnt butcher up the name but I mean the artifact that Yuan Li was after)

It doesn't seem smart to leave the head realm right after getting a golden goose that lays eggs, mc should have explored the whole realm and basically trying to get all the opportunities, then try to find ways to get those in his next life within the time limit. Seeing the 4 wonders was a must. Perhaps, there were still more 'ender cutscenes' ... .

    4. Knowledge and techniques : MC should at least understand every technique Song Jin has to some degree; even if they are devilish, he should at least understand the concepts behind them and perhaps there are still some techniques that mc could actually learn. If mc pushed himself, he could live for 1300 years and this time can be used to find and cultivate talents to get some inspiration out of them. Another life should be spent, affecting the world as little as possible and see which talents survive and which die; this knowledge can be used if he somehow gets back to the head realm within 1300 years.

    5. Challenge everything:
I believe there is much to learn from helping others' attempt at challenging their limits. For example, can mc make his first master achieve golden core? Can mc's wife reach beyond 3 in the creation law thing? Can mortals with varying degrees of talents reach five origins realm? Can Kim Hyung live more even without longevity fruit? The list can go on but to me, these are some of the more important questions.

Thinking about it some more, the minor problems are actually insignificant and unimportant for the most part; perhaps the most noteworthy one would be: mc not teaching martial arts to almost everyone who was of importance to him... which spoilers but he did state his intent to teach in the latest chapters.

    So that is about it.

It's mainly because Korean WEBNOVELS have dogshit prose. It's as if they're writing an outline of the story, a draft, a script, etc. I have spent a fair amount of time reading Korean, Chinese, and Japanese MTL, and Korean novels always give me the biggest headache because some sentences, paragraphs, and chapters sound like actual gibberish, even in the demonic realm of MTL. That's saying something, right? Even in most translated novels, if done faithfully, have this problem of bland, or outright bad prose.
