On the way to a company workshop, we fell into a world of immortal cultivators while still in the car.

Those with spiritual roots and unique abilities were all called to join cultivation sects, living prosperously.

But I, having neither spiritual roots nor special abilities, lived as an ordinary mortal for 50 years, complying with fate until my death.

That’s what I thought.

Until I regressed. Collapse

I think the point of that is the revelation he gets at the end of some of runs. I mean it's the nature of humans to err and learn from their errors. I wouldn't mind some amount of "real" humanity in a fantasy novel.

Up until the current chapter, the MC has had no more than one lover in each regression. Whether this constitutes a harem is up to your interpretation. The current chapter refers to
      .

Edit: Most of the time, the MC has no lover, and only in a few regressions does he have one lover. The reasons why this happened are complex and cannot be explained without spoiling.

Because they weren't the same people, even if he related to them again, they would be other people and not the ones he had met in other regressions. In addition to the preoccupation with selfishly mirroring previous people in current ones. After all, the one he loved has already died and the one he meets in the next regression is just another person.

So why does he help his friends every time? Also the way you say it proves that MC don't actually love any of the girls as he just left for different girl everytime saying they are not the same people anymore. If he actually love someone he wouldn't fall for different girl and no matter what will always stick with same girl.

First of all, it was never mentioned that he was with several girls during each regression. He got engaged to her once and when he returned again, he chose to let her go and promised himself that he would only love her and no one else, except that there was a certain event and he couldn't keep that promise, but it only happened once and most likely it will only be two girls. sigh

In conclusion, if you want to know anything that happens in the novel, read the damn novel. Asking stupid and meaningless questions only wastes my time and yours. finger sigh

Your wife dies, a scientist recreates an almost perfect copy just without her memories with you, is that the same person you loved?

For your question, he helps his friends because the scientist created the new copies possesing some of the memories he had with them.

Thats not a good comparison thought. If you could go back in time meet your dead lover/child/relative will you consider than stranger and not the same person or will you still continue the relationship you had before? The logic of letting go of someone you love and finding someone else because they don't have a memory of you remind me of the logic of omniman when he said to mark "what 16 more year, I will make another kid"

I didn't put much thought or time in writing that comment so i can understand what you are saying, but i still think that conveyed the spirit of what i was trying to say, that you have changed but your love is still the same, you both don't fit together the same way for love to spark once again.

Yea, i get what you mean but it was disappointing to see him fall for another girl right after his tragedy with his fiance. He went hundred of years without falling in love and he fall in love with another girl in the very next 'cycle'. Author should've given some time for us readers to heal instead of moving on to next one which kinda cheapen everything that happen before.

I have read 50 chapters and my impressions.
The author is trying to squeeze out at least some sad emotions and pity for MC from readers, but this causes extreme irritation.
It is a crime when stupidity and kindness are found in one person, especially if that person is the main character. (At such moments, I was ready to stop reading several times in one paragraph)
    I explain my words:

And yes, there is no need to mince. I don't feel sorry for the heroes who do everything themselves to suffer, and this is not justified in any way. The author just wants to put pressure on the readers' pity.
    P.s. Don't judge strictly, it's translated through a translator.

Your argument is senseless, life itself has no meaning, we give our lives meaning, then how can his way of living be meaningless?

After this logic yours doesnt hold any value either (i actually agree with this thinking(that life has no meaning not that we realy give it or anything that)but dont use it because its stupid to use) he can very well think that these values are stupid, he didnt say that they cant be values, just that they make no sense(in this specific case) (alot of what people value is stupid another peoples eyes) and he dislikes them therefore your argument to discreddit his opinion is completly useless beyond your personal level and people who disagree with him to begin with. Also all the other parts about what makes it bad in his opinion are ignored and instead just combiend into the pseudo point of him thinking that the values of the mcs values are meaningless. (I dont say that you cant disagree with his opinion just that your Argument isnt realy doing anything)

But what infuriates him is that, instead of using all the opportunities to break out of his situation and live a normal life, reach the top, he misses opportunities for the sake of illusory morality and justice, WHICH WILL HAVE NO MEANING AFTER HE DIES.

I was talking mainly about this paragraph, you should be able to understand what I was saying more clearly now.

Well, that doesnt change anything if the consequences of your actions dont exist you dont have to think about them/shouldnt since you would achive nothing that way, doesnt mean you cant act on how things would play out normaly if they still had them but it doesnt make much sense doing so while you know they wont help you or affect anything. Its in a sense like someone is killed in your dream does that actually mean he is dead? Does it affect you? Or change the real world?(Refering to the world that will be the one that goes on) No the only reason a person shouldnt act like it doesnt matter, is if it did/he plans on keeping the reality he is in if he decides to erase it than he shouldnt because its not diffrent from a dream. All to say wasting time to satisfy your vanity(its clearly vanity if you sacrifce benefits for your own beliefs that merely affect a dream) is something someone can do yet its still not nessarly a good idea. ( I think you should only act on your morals in such a case if its the world you try to keep otherwise treat the world like its merely a dream, since thats basicaly what it is at that point) (in essence finding meaning in a dream while possible is meaningless even more so in this case) [btw i do get what you want to say yet in this case its just not realy useful, i dont realy agreee with it either way even more so in this case, also even if it were complety perfect in this case it would still only be removing a small aspect of one point it wont even change that it can still be seen as an annoyence while reading]

I would like to apologize for taking so long to reply, i simply did not receive the message that you had replied.

I understand that you are trying to say that since what happens is not permanent, so it doesn't matter, however, at that particular moment when it's happening, isn't it real? Everything in the world ends, i will die in the future, you will die in the future, however does that mean what we are experiencing right now, the joy, the suffering, the highs and the lows, worthless? At least i don't think so.

Even when the MC regresses, to a time where everything is like the past, he changes, no longer able to 'connect' like in his past life, he and the people he knew become pieces of a puzzle that doesn't match any more.

I want you to imagine if you were regressed in time to the moment you were born, would you still be able to rekindle a friendship with your childhood friends? If yes, then would it truly be the same as it is right now in this world? Would it even be genuine?
