A Regressor’s Tale of Cultivation회귀수선전

This is simply the best cultivation novel I've ever laid my eyes on. It's quite a glaze and statement to make but there are several points to make.

Firstly, it isn't brainrot about slapping young masters into oblivion at every turning corner and the characters actually feel like true characters or people.

Secondly, the worldbuilding. The worldbuilding is one of the best I've seen. Excluding the first world, the middle realms each have unique worlds that have strange rules. Not that I'm saying that the first world is uninteresting, it is very interesting with a desert and multiple kingdoms.

Thirdly, the power system. Unlike other Chinese cultivation with heavenly bodies popping out like they're random trash on the road, the cast of characters with those bodies are far and few given so far. I think only two come from the actual world itself and the rest are the main cast who 'fell' into the world (Also the two who are actually from the world have the same exact body so expect for the main cast we only know of a single unique trait that someone could be born with). So it's quite few. It focuses on the actual parts of daoism about 'the path to immortality and life itself' by giving insights about life and how that translates into power through their heaven and earth energy and their breakthroughs as well. For example, (spoilers for the arc containing the evil guy and his blood arts) . it is not some hotchpotch of things put together and break its own rule every other chapter, it has meaning and is well crafted.

Also, this cultivation novel is in first person so it is much more emotional and shows the insights more as opposed with other cultivation novels in the third person which feels distant which (I find this next part funny) contradicts the teachings of daoism to a certain extent as insights about life feel much more like random words than things that it could be applied for in life. (This may not be true, I don't know about the philosophy behind daoism so this statement may be false).

Overall, it one of the best novels I've ever read in the fantasy genre, (this next part may not resonate with people as opinions will vary) the same top slots along with SSS-Class Suicide Hunter, and while I want to put LOTM, I've not read it and others in this list.

Read it, the first few chapters are very long and are a bit of a bore to read but give it at least 20 chapters, you won't regret reading this masterpiece of a cultivation novel.
