Jacob Steve, an Old Man, died at 116 after living a whole life.

But Jacob always had a dark side, which he always suppressed and hid from others.
However, in the later years of his life, when death was inevitable, he understood there wasn't any point in having wealth, knowledge, or desires if you couldn't have a life to enjoy them.

He became obsessed with fabled immortality and devoted his reaming life to extending his fleeting lifespan, but just like any other failed.

However, he mysteriously got another chance at life and found a way that led to fabled immortality.
But he was also forewarned that the way led to it was filled with blood and darkness!

In the end, Jacob chose it anyway with no way of going back, and it was also the start of his suffering and his icky, brutal journey toward the 'Immortality' he wanted so badly! Collapse

Everything about This novel Is amazing, literally...
(4.8/5) Characters are very good, world Building is phenomenal, MC is smart and he can be ruthless when needed. Power scales are good too but the pacing is Slow, very Slow. You can't really consider that as a bad point, cause the novel would be lacking in other aspects if pacing was Fast. So i really recommend you to read this novel, but you can Bookmark this and read it some time later too...

I just realised that this novel has an average of 1000+ words per chapter; WTF, I don't think there is a single chapter with 2k words.

It's really wierd but I only realised it after reading the whole thing and seeing the newest (290) chapter. As it was even shorter from the past ones and I compered it with the other ones and voila!

The book itself is great. The translation may be a bit difficult to read, but it's still better than your average mtl.

If you are hyped about magic, then don't start it yet. Till this chapter (285) Mc still hasn't awakened his magical affity. What makes the book great is rational and cautious mc. He thinks logically and has a lot of knowlage, expecially when it comes to modern weapons.

The world was made into a few sections. The larger the section the higher is technology level and the stronger are the species living in there. The race he was born into were humans. They lived in the smallest section. The story goes on and so does he go on to another section. He uses modern technology like rifles to kill enemies stronger than him.

As I'm too lazy to continue I will end this mid review.

    5/5

Read all existing chapters here (284). It's pretty good imo. The basic premise is an old guy who was obsessed with Immortality before dying in a version of the modern world gets Reincarnated in a fantasy world.

The fantasy world is a blend of Bloodlines, Technology and Magic, with the level of everything increasing depending on what region you are in.

The MC himself is definetly smart and calculating. He does his best to learn and study things he deems necessary, but he's not all-knowing and makes believable mistakes due to his lack of knowledge.

It's clear from the start that he cares about being immortal over everything else, hell he spent the last few years of his original life in a medical room just trying to prolong things as much as possible. And this is made even clearer after he accepts 'Cursed Immortality' and makes it clear that he will happily sacrifice anything for immortality, so of course he will prioritise living longer.

There are some parts where he acts a bit like an asshole, but it isn't all the time and he isn't arrogant or annoying all the time either.
We are told at the start from 'Cursed Immortality' that his starting region is extremely weak and shown there are multiple phases as well as stages within those phases he needs to go through in order to actually become immortal. We are also told of multiple different rarities and that those are just the tip of the iceberg. Of course he is going to get stronger and go to stronger regions. As his body gets stronger, the requirements for the next stage will obviously increase as well.

So far he hasn't spent an extremely long or short time at any stage. The longest was definetly the first stage, with the second being completely quite a bit faster.

MC is established fairly early on as being an absolute genius with weaponry as well as being obsessed with Immortality, so some things (such as him studying martial arts when he was younger in order to keep his body healthy) makes sense. Sometimes though things about his past life feel a bit too convenient. The main one being about some secret manual that he traded for in the previous world (which as far as we know was like earth) that somehow has an incredible effect when practiced in this world, but that strangeness was noted by the MC himself, so it could potentially be explored later on.

There are some small issues with incorrect words etc. And some parts which are kinda confusing to understand, but overall, I'd give it a try. I was pretty much interested throughout reading it and am looking forward to continuing reading it.

One of the underestimated novels here, I read a lot of things here, some novels I gave up after 20-50 chapters, but this one dragged me in, rather unusual "cultivation", there is intrigue, there is a good world-building, as for the "cliches", I didn't even notice immersed in history if you have nothing to read highly recommend to try this 4/5.
Sorry for the grammar, english is not my native language

MC prick like attitude will start rubbing you the wrong way. He just exist to add number to his lifespan (kinda justifying the title of the story). Story starts off good but MCs being a complete asshole is off putting, I gave up at chapter 260. Story is kinda repetitive like Chinese cultivation novel, MC starts off weak, lay low, grows fast within 50 chapters, becomes peerless in that place and then moves on to higher power level places, and then cycle repeats.
Also you need another brain to keep up with naming of power levels as author sucks at naming them (as seen in eternal thief).

    Totally forgettable novel.

    Rating 3/5
