This novel is relatively light in tone which is odd to say because it also gets quite dark in other ways but the mc is OP and a coward he and the author are more interested in developing new things than fights and such by like orders of magnitude and that’s okay I think it’s a lot of fun as long as you understand what the story is interested in

Mc is stupid. Author is stupid. Author completely forgets one of mc's most powerful abilities which are illusions and just never uses it. Author doesn't even try and hide mc's plot armor. Whenever mc gets stuck on anything something just happens to fall right into his lap. Not only that but you know the whole water bears gu? THE THING THAT IS IN THE NAME OF THE NOVEL? Over 70 chapters in it finally gets created and the only thing Author mentions of it is "Over these past 2 years the water bear gu formed." That's it with every single other gu he made it was detailed and every gu had some sort of divine ability that mc wasn't expecting. The water bear gu? It got a short sentence about it's creation. And even then it was being hyped up so much about how it's gonna give immortality but the very same chapter Author mentions that even with the water bears gu mc might die swimming in lava...this novel is a f#cking joke I'm dropping this shit. What a waste of such a good potential.

Kinda finding this a bit boring. MC just seems to be treading water... No real goals, no wishes, no real antagonists (this is also a good thing I guess as looking at the average Chinese antagonist...). His cheat and abilities feel arbitrary, we constantly get author bragging about his 'creativity' which is just basic modern knowledge or copying from anime etc whilst ragging on other peoples 'intelligence', missing that MC comes across as a bit autistic. His creativity just ends up with some super generic skills anyway. The whole cultivation system feels very rickety and not well thought out or put together. Very slapdash.

I feel hesitant to give the lack of the usual bad cliches as a 'pro' but I have to considering the current novel situation. It's why I managed to make it to 80~ chapters. But I just find myself drifting off as the story is finding it hard to hook me. Overall the story is just lacking a lot of polish and direction.

On the plus side, translation is mostly decent.

Man I'm so glad the translation of this novel is good because so many novel's especially xianxia one's are just getting bad and broken ai translation nowadays.

Of course it's a harem, but neither the tags nor the genres say a single word about it.
