Renegade Immortal - I really liked it. MC is not a sucker and not a good person, but a cross between an anti-hero and a villain. I liked the world and the Tao theme too. But as always, the works of Er Gene spoil the romance. Why? In Pursuit of the Truth and I Shall Seal the Heavens (in the Eternal will of the norms and the World in the palm of my hand I have not read yet) too. The author seems to forget and only at the end remembers romance. My personal rating is 4/5.

After reading so many cultivation novels I fell like these can be described in one word, Infinity. The whole cultivation world is infinite and there isn't a true end to the path of cultivation, the end of one path is the beginning of another, and maybe the mc isn't truly the main character he can just be the side character of some other cultivator who reaches far beyond him. Its like they are stuck in a never ending loop and even though
he doesn't realize he is still trapped in a never ending world. Anyways in the end its all fake sadly, but it was a very good book in my opinion.

He did realize that it never ends, that's why he chose to cultivate in a different way.. Read the last chapter again

    Quote: BRAGO
After mc's pathetic attempt of suicide against Teng Huayuan it got really boring. Especially the emotional instability of the mc, he's like a 3 year old child who will fight a guy 10 times larger than him cause he badmouth his relatives. That's a good character but it also shows how hollow the plot is. Multiple times he survived out of sheer luck and he learned nothing from all these setbacks. Like anything happens, anytime author can introduces new character and countries out of nowhere they take complete chapters but their importance is like dead fingernails from our bodies. After cultivating 200 years and countinous persuasion from old grandpa in the bead he still didn't understand the nature of cultivation world. But When his family's souls were to be destroyed he shouted to the heavens "so this is cultivation world, good, good" like f#ck that's the same thing that old guy had been telling you but you had to suicide. I won't write much but I give 3/10.

You need to read past a certain point (I can’t remember where) for it to start really picking up. The novel still retains some cliches and the author repeats phrases like “slaps bag of holding”, BUT this novel is genuinely one of THE best cultivation novels out there. It gets amazing after a while. Don’t get hung up on the beginning.

Yeah but without the bead he would be nothing... Of course that was a part of his fate, but then surely if he never encountered the bead then...

He wouldn’t be nothing. It would take him much longer to cultivate (probably around how long it takes normal people to do it) and there would be a huge chance of his death at the beginning, but he has monstrous comprehension and monstrous willpower compared to most other people so he has a shot.

God Tier Novel without a doubt the characters are full of emotions, the world building is awesome, the mysteries keeps me hooks and speculating, the plot is seriously good, there's no major plot hole(for me atleast), the character development is one of the best points in this novel even the author himself is developing from the start till the end.

    My overall Rating is 9.8/10.0

The only things that keeps me from rating 10.0 are the same problem the ones below me experiencing like "eyes lits up" always slapping the bag of holding" and little excessive face slapping.

Good so far, only problem is all of a sudden in around chapter 170+ the terminology just randomly changes to Chinese pinyin, the realms are switched out from Core Formation to Jie Dan etc. Spiritual energy is switched out to Ling Qi. It's very annoying after 170 chapters of the English translation to switch it up. Its like the translator got changed and hadn't even read the past translated chapters
EDIT: it goes back to normal around chapter 200. My problem now is getting annoyed because everyone's eyes are being lit up 9000 times a chapter

The beginning (like first 400-500 chapters) is probably the best cultivation novel in existence. but it starts to show some weaknesses. It sadly starts to fall into all the cultivationb pitfalls.
Face Slapping, Plothoels, him not using all his abilty because it would be to boring or he would grow to fast, enemies lining up one by one and never exeding his cultivation so he can easly clap them, completly unrealistic events just so the plot can go in certaint directions, hundred year old cultivaitors underestimating mc because resons and than getting claped, etc...
really sad that it detieriated so much. especially if oyu can sill the genius this novel has now and there.
I hope this gets better agin as I am not throw yet.

The translators got hit by truck-kun and returned to 10 years in the past, allowing them to finish the 5 best chapters that they could remember off the top of their head.
