The person whom the world revolves around.

The person who defeats all of his opponents, and ultimately gets the beautiful girl.

The sole existence all villains fear.

That is the protagonist.

What about me?

As a failed author who had only one success throughout his whole career, I had reincarnated into my late novel.

«This is it»

I thought, as I tightly clenched my fist.

Did I just get reincarnated in my own novel?

Is this where I reincarnate in a novel and become the protagonist?

No.

Sadly it’s not that kind of novel, as I reincarnated as a mob.

The world doesn’t revolve around me.

The girls don’t come flocking towards me.

The cheat items don’t come to me.

«Phew»

I let out a sigh of relief.

«Thank god I’m not the protagonist»

I joyfully shouted as tears streamed down my cheeks.

Wait, are you curious as to why I don’t want to be the protagonist?

I did forget to mention the most important thing when I was describing a protagonist.

That is…

They are calamity magnets.

I just died. If I learned something from that, it’s that it really isn’t a pleasant experience.

If possible let me live a long stable life.

Thank you, whoever reincarnated me.

I would later come to regret these words…

Reader Disclaimer:

There are two MCs in this story.
1. The original MC of the novel
2. The author that transmigrates in the novel
In the beginning, the author plays the role of an extra with no ambition other than quietly waiting for the story to end. He is almost like a babysitter that watches over the plotline, however, this will only be in the first 40 chapters or so as he will soon be dragged into the plotline regardless of how much he doesn’t want to.

The MC may come off as someone that has no ambition in the beginning but as the story progresses it will change

Also, there may be a bit of info-dumping at the beginning of the novel (at least the first 30 chapters), but there shouldn’t be anymore in the following chapters. Well…being a new author I may end up doing it again. If I do so please do criticize me and scold me. If you don’t scold me how am I supposed to improve the story? What’s great about writing web novels is that I actually can hear your advice and opinions. You are just as much invested in this story as I am, so please help me out.

Well…I would appreciate it if you don’t leave a one star…not that I can stop you

Also, yes, the novel is inspired by TNE (The novel’s extra) you may see a lot of similarities in the beginning, but for future chapters the differences will start to become more apparent. I hope you manage to stick through it. Also, don’t come reading this expecting it to be another TNE. In fact don’t compare the two. If you do, the flaws of this book will become more apparent as you read ruining the whole experience Collapse

author asked something about this pretty sure, if he should stop daily uploads so he can think more about the plot (one chapter per 2 days) or keep the current upload speed. He most likely chose the latter

I feel like the synopsis put me in the wrong mindset about this novel causing me to drop it after 51 chapters. Despite that I think its well written and, if you go in with a different mindset than me, you'll likely really enjoy it.

With the Author MC literally writing and also knowing everything about the world he is in, he makes some pretty unbelievable choices/mistakes which cause the timeline to change almost immediately, meaning his advantage will be less and less going forward.

He also doesn't act at all like someone who wants to avoid all the Main Characters and stay low key. He literally choose to go interact with one he knows is Sadistic and will mess with him and even joins an elective with another main character as well as a Villain teacher.

He made a smart move and invested in stocks based on his knowledge and earned millions...so why does he need to make a deal with the Sadistic one for Potions? As long as he keeps doing this or even exploit his knowledge about treasures and sell them, he can easily be rich enough to just buy all the Potions he needs.

He claimed that no other elective would accept him and so was forced to be in this one with a main character and a Villain, but then we're told that it's one of the most popular electives there is.

He also mindlessly sprouted out future knowledge about things in class. He was attempting to just barely say the right stuff, but then goes on for 2 long paragraphs worth of stuff. That's really not believable at all tbh.

As I said, I think its well written and even though the author MC doesn't really at all follow what he says about avoiding all MCs and being low-key (his sword training already brings attention to him, but then he goes and buys an ancient mp3 player to use. Ofc that's gonna draw attention to him), if he DID follow his thoughts I'd defo stick with it.

I guess I was expecting more of Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint or The Legendary Mechanic in terms of knowing the future and exploiting/changing things only to your benefit whilst trying to keep the majority of the timeline intact in order to make your advantage stay the longest. Whereas with him changing things almost instantly its much more like being a typical reincarnation novel, just that he happens to know the location of things as well as the red book.

That being said I really like how the author (the real one) writes things and how he acts in the synopsis bit. Wish him all the best for the future!

I do agree with you on the professor thing
but the rest is just too far fetched
like for the elective thing, it could possibly be something that the person who sent him to the world had done behind the scenes. Moreover, it said 'most popular among lower-end academies' does this look like a lower-end academy to you?
      For the stock thing.
...do you seriously think that major events that fluctuate the stock can happen next to each other? Moreover, he also has to take into account what his actions do to the real world. You can't just manipulate the stock market without expecting consequences. At least with the potion things he has a long-term provider of potions saving millions of U in the process. He loses nothing.
      Also, Ive currently caught up.
      ...and let me tell you.
      He is low key.
In terms of power not attention.
Feel free to disagree, I just came here to check if there was a new update and since im bored im responding.

I could definitely see that being the case of being manipulated behind the scenes to join this elective.
The stock market thing I definitely agree with, especially after reading quite a few chapters of Past Life Returner, but he made a few million from this first deal and he has no specific needs for tons of insanely rare/large quantities of potions at the moment, and since he is in with the Black Market now it would surely be easier to get Potions from there in the future? He already knows one insanely trustworthy guy in there as well as one of the higher ups there. Finding a potion/potioneer for him would likely not be an issue.
From where I stopped reading he just got put in a group with the Sadistic potion chick and she is defo not a fan of him and looks like she is gonna make trouble for him, so it doesn't seem like he made the smartest choice at that point. Maybe he can endure/find a way to make her chill?

Ahhh I see. Generally when I think of low key I think of people trying to avoid standing out as well as hiding their power, like Han Jue in Top Tier Providence, Secretly Cultivate for a Thousand Years.

Wasn't it mentioned that if others knew/figured out that he was practising such a rare sword manual he would be in a lot of trouble/hunted down for it? That sort of thing made me think that he would not draw attention to himself, rather than just not draw attention to his powers.

Either way, like I said I went in with the wrong mindset unfortunately, but it is still a very good novel and I hope you continue enjoying it.

I don't know man, I feel like you're being overly critical of things. It's a great novel, better than most trash out there. It's definitely worth reading. You also should not forget that this is the author's first work. His writing will only get better and he is doing really good work with that release schedule.

Oh totally, none of my problems with it have nothing to do with the style or way of writing and I have no issues with the real author. I can definitely see why people would like and read it.

I just think the synopsis, to me, gave off a different vibe than what I actually read in the story and so wasn't able to fully enjoy it as much as I think I could've. That coupled with the few instances where I didn't really believe that things would make sense/actions taken didn't match up with the motivations or goals of the character, meant that it made it difficult for me personally to carry on with it.

well, as it is a novel written in 1st person, the MC at all times talks to the readers indirectly, something that for me I find extremely unpleasant. The ramance at least in the part I stopped, 85% of the chapter are monologues of the MC explaining something and etc, which most of the time prolongs simple actions like the time he got the apple right at the beginning of the novel,

for me it doesn't deserve the top 1 monthly. greatly overrated this novel.

    info-dump big poopoo spoiler review

I'd give this book a 9/10 so far

-Positive author, listens to readers but stays firm with opinion.

-Good MC's (there's 2, Author and Protagonist): Author MC is hardworking but lowkey, while also using his advantages of creating the book like knowing strengths and weaknesses of characters, or knowing hidden locations and/or artifacts that can power him up. He acknowledges the mistakes he made while writing the book, and has enough common sense to not run around face slapping young master after young master. He has no harem and isn't a womanizer / jade beauty magnet. Overall clearheaded MC with a good personality. The Protagonist is the complete opposite, is a f#cking woman magnet, while having a brain, is, like the actual author says, a full-fledged calamity magnet. Finding antagonist after antagonist, his plot armor grants him cheat items and safety, while also making him get stronger. He isn't arrogant in the least and has a hero complex, which can be decent at times. The contrast between the 2 MC's coupled with the different POV's is a nice experience.

-World building is nice, I personally enjoy the descriptive landscapes lol and it also gives me an idea of what the f#ck I'm looking at. His originality of names is well...nonexistent, but personally it makes the story better, as I don't want to be seeing an MC with a name that makes no f#cking sense.

-Medium paced speed, not too fast and not too slow, he climbs up the ranks decently fast, so you won't see him [SSS] rank after 100 chapters or still [G+] at 500 chapters.

-The actual Author's "info dump" wasn't a bore, it was pretty good to read and also helped kick of the story, it shows of the Author's personality while also shows his knowledge of the book he created.

Overall a great book, I like it so far but I don't have enough info yet, I'll make another info dump review at chapter 300 joy

Haven't check out the novel yet. But the description is amazing. Open minded author. Direct to the point. Although yes the topic of the novel is really not my type. But based of the amazing comments and infos through reading the other comments, it sounds great. I'll give it a shot.
