    Okay, novel is fine but translation (or just publishment) is kinda disgusting.
    Chapter missing, chapter missing, chapter repeat of previous one instead of new. It's just so annoying. Then there's inconsistency in translation with no void sect becoming Buccin sect midarc and you need to deduce from context what happened.
    I tried reading missing chapters on novel
    but it kinda runs into the same issue. After a while you'll still get missing or repeating chapter. And numeration is different too so you struggle to find it.

    In the end, you need to read from 2 sites with 2 different translations(on each site) to even see all the chapters. Really annoying.
    There are also annoying guys hiding chapters behind daily visit thing or paywall which is even more annoying. Probably better to just read till ongoing and forget it exists until in the distant future someone releases a proper translation with proper access.

    While reading I noticed so many readers criticizing MC in early chapters.
    And you guys stop comparing with Fang Yuan.
    Ning Zhun is only 16 years old, while Fang Yuan is a old man time travelling.
    In this novel, so many plot twists, great character development i'm seeing.
    Like RI, rhis novel is also slow at beginning.
    Main question, is this MC ruthless as FY? NO, FY is father of ruthlessness
    Fan yuan is really really good, top 3 mc, but he isn't comparable to Ning Zhou's treachery.
    Please give this MC some time, he will be brilliant. I'll say he is still brilliant though.
    He is improving fast, scheming ,manipulating way before too.
    Understand that author can't write the same novel as RI, just to get banned again?
    Comparable to RI, its a light genre, whixh heavily focus on scheming, taking advantage of others, sowing traps.
    So many also said, author fall down. RI also wont have been good if you won't have finished act 1. Same here


    I couldn't stop myself from reading after not finding a good novel for last 2 months. I knew i'll regret. This novel not ending before 2028

    Read 235 to 330 in one setting and oh god is this a treasure holy shit this is a must read main character is like a Righteous path Fang Yuan instead of killing he kills then flips the picture into making the public think him as a hero truly amazing

    I have just started reading (RI is my #1 novel after reading hundreds over the years).
    The author has repeatedly said (you can check in MTL prologue) that he is writing this novel to earn money aka "fill the worldly belly" and is disregarding his artistic ideals.
    If you truly understand the implications you do, if you do not then you can ignore it I will just point it out once.
    This shows immediately.
    It is funny to see people being enthusiastic about this novel and refer to RI when, if you read between the lines, from the authors own statements the situation is very different and he just needs to make money for his family and adopt a popular and broadly appealing style.
    The same people who down-vote more realistic reviews here or people who point out flaws, are probably unaware or choose to ignore this. After all for RI fans there is a perpetual novel drought and it is hard to read normal stuff. Sticking your head into the sand can be extremely comforting.

    Novel is likely to be way above average with more logic and coherency and a real plot than what is commonly seen, but nothing like RI.
    I would expect it to be in the same league as an Er Gen novel, though with Outside of Time excluded which is an extremely good novel.
    What holds it back from reaching Er Gen level currently, is the translation which is MTL/AI as others have pointed out.
    Even then it is something to enjoy, especially if you are not a hardcore RI fan.
    In any case this is all very disappointing and sad to me personally. Some have said Gu Zhen Ren has fallen, this is true. Even more accurately: he has given up.

    We RI fans can only hope he makes enough money from this and can let himself free in a later project, or that someone else steps up to that Reverend Insanity level.

    It's just a good novel. I don't think I'd rate it a 4.7 but 4.2 for this site is fine.

    P. S. 102 chapters read, and the journey of the Immortal Puppeteer hasn't even begun yet. I even wondered how many hundreds of chapters it would take for the author to start the story.

      Hm? It’s a goddamn story it’s like reading a biography named “The great hero” and not realize that title comes not from someone going “Wow he’s a great hero!” “Wait… say that again…” and then [Title Card] with 1000 chapters remaining you don’t read Reverend Insanity and go “When does he go insane?”

      My explanation doesn’t make that much sense here so I’ll reiterate it’s called “mysteries” of immortal puppet master this is the story of the main character it isn’t going to start with him as a nascent soul cultivator

    I've read the whole 1st volume(300+ chapters) and I can confidently say that this book is already in my top 10.
    Why? There are many reasons tbh. Let me list them for you:
    1. MC: Truly, one of the best character arc I have ever read. The way Ning Zhou goes from an intelligent boy to a man with unshakeable resolve is wonderfully done.
    2. Foreshadowing: Trust me, there are no plot holes(only foreshadowing)
    3. Charcters: I want to go on and on about characters, but honestly words are not enough. Still, if I have to summarise I'll say you can take at least 10 characters from volume 1 and write a whole book about each of them them and it'll still come out as a good book.
    4. End: The way everything comes together so beautifully at the end of volume 1 is nothing short of... Yeah I don't have words. But just from vol. 1 you can see that author has everything planned and you won't feel you wasted your time when book finishes.(And in my opinion this confidence is one of the most important thing a reader would want in any ongoing novel.)

    Conclusion: Just go ahead and read it. It'll only become better and better.
