Book 3: Chapter 132 (3)

The lightning faded, and Leon stood quietly in the center of the street.

Before him were the corpses of dozens of large fusion beasts, the air thick with the smell of burnt flesh.

Leon narrowed his eyes slightly,

*“It was blocked, huh.”*

As the smoke cleared, the Dagger Trio emerged from the rubble, supporting each other.

Even with the fusion beasts absorbing Dragon Extinction, they were still injured.

But it was far better than taking the hit directly—just look at the pile of second-stage fusion beasts on the ground.

“An impressive attack. We brothers have truly experienced the strength of the greatest dragon slayer.”

Gini stepped forward, “But unfortunately, that move must’ve drained all your magic, right? Don’t think we haven’t studied you—your limit ends here, Leon.”

Leon remained silent, listening quietly.

Soon, two figures—one silver, one blue—landed gently beside him.

Leon glanced left and right, *Huh? Where’s the third dragon?*

“Where’s Constantine?”

“He’s on his way.”

“Oh… the pain of no wings, I get it.”

“So, what’s the situation now?”

Roswitha looked at the fusion beast corpses on the ground, “So these things really took the hit for the Dagger Trio?”

“Yeah. And they’re also guessing my magic reserves are running low.”

Claudia sized Leon up, noting his flat tone and expression, and asked with some concern,

“You’re not actually out of magic, are you?”

“Nah, I’ve still got plenty.”

The blue-haired beauty rolled her eyes, “Then why’d you look and sound like you were *at the end of your rope*, ready for a last stand?”

Leon shrugged, “It’s to set up my unexpected magic burst later.”

“Huh?” Claudia clearly didn’t get Leon’s approach.

“In Rebecca’s words, it’s so he can *flex on them* and make them feel like they’re getting slapped in the face,” Roswitha explained seriously.

“…Childish! How’d you marry such a childish man!” Even Claudia couldn’t help but roast him this time.

The queen silently covered her face, sighing softly, “*The past is too painful to recall*, Senior.”

Leon stepped forward, slowly raising his right hand toward the Dagger Trio,

“You just said that was my limit, right?”

Gini froze, “You mean—”

Before he could finish, a piercing bird’s cry echoed through the sky, energy rippling outward, dispersing the lingering smoke.

The Dagger Trio was utterly dumbfounded.

This was *not* what the intel said!

Based on magical intensity, that last move should’ve been Leon’s limit.

So how was he casually casting Thousand Birds now?

“Your intel on me probably stopped after I came out of the spatial rift, so your understanding of my limits is stuck there too.”

“True, back then, I could only manage an attack of that intensity. Even when I split Dragon Extinction into four parts, the total strength was still the same.”

“Your assumptions were completely correct.”

“But… people improve, don’t they?”

Listening to Leon’s explanation, Gini still couldn’t believe it,

“But how could a normal human increase their magic reserves so drastically in just a few years? You… you’re just *bluffing*, right?”

“A normal human couldn’t make such a leap in a few years, but there are special methods, you know.”

Special method:

Getting an extra dragon tattoo on his arm!

Not long after the *epic scene of Leon slaying six dragons in ten seconds*, this fated couple had each added a second dragon tattoo to their bodies.

The purpose was to store more magic.

And this was intel the Empire had no way of gathering!

It also, once again, proved the *weight* of the dragon tattoo!

“As for whether I’m bluffing—”

Leon raised his right hand high, and instantly, the sky churned again,

“Trust me, you hurt my master, so every attack I make against you is aimed at taking your lives.”

“So… if I use Dragon Extinction again and you’re still alive, then you can ask me if I’m bluffing.”

Leon’s chilling killing intent was almost tangible, enveloping the Dagger Trio.

In that moment, even they, who had slain several Dragon Kings, felt a primal fear deep in their hearts.

On the land boat, King Kant swallowed hard,

“The sorcerers’ estimates were wrong—Leon’s magic reserves are still plentiful! And we don’t have any more fusion beasts to block his next attack!”

This time, even Elizabeth felt a sense of urgency, her elegant brows furrowed, her expression grave,

“Don’t panic. Didn’t *Lord Shadow* give you a trump card? It’s time to use it.”

“B-But that would sacrifice the Dagger Trio.”

“Hmph, Kant, after all this time as king, you still don’t understand this chess game.”

Elizabeth said slowly, “For the final victory, what’s the harm in sacrificing a few pieces along the way? Do it. The Gini brothers will see it as the ultimate honor.”

Kant hesitated briefly, then pulled a black dragon scale from his pocket.

“*Lord Shadow*… it all depends on your trump card.”

With that, Kant tossed the black dragon scale off the land boat.

The scale silently landed on the pile of fusion beast corpses.

Leon and the others’ attention was drawn to it.

“What’s that?”

Roswitha shook her head, “A black dragon scale? Never seen one before.”

Claudia narrowed her eyes, then gasped, “Oh no, that’s—”

Before Claudia could finish, the fusion beast corpses on the ground began to writhe.

“What’s happening? Dragon Extinction should’ve killed them completely!”
