With the rising tide of steam power and machinery, who can come close to being a Beyonder? Shrouded in the fog of history and darkness, who or what is the lurking evil that murmurs into our ears?

Waking up to be faced with a string of mysteries, Zhou Mingrui finds himself reincarnated as Klein Moretti in an alternate Victorian era world where he sees a world filled with machinery, cannons, dreadnoughts, airships, difference machines, as well as Potions, Divination, Hexes, Tarot Cards, Sealed Artifacts…

The Light continues to shine but mystery has never gone far. Follow Klein as he finds himself entangled with the Churches of the world — both orthodox and unorthodox — while he slowly develops newfound powers thanks to the Beyonder potions.

Like the corresponding tarot card, The Fool, which is numbered 0 — a number of unlimited potential — this is the legend of «The Fool». Collapse

I tried to read this 3 times already and only managed so far, if you want to read a wall of text and pointless descriptions then go read a newsletter, at least there you will learn the news and stay informed on the current news in the world. I genuinely can't understand how other people find this good, and this is not me mocking, I'm genuinely confused as to why others find this good.

Fair. Others find this good bcz it’s matter of taste, some like long burn stories; others don’t.

For their defense, I think you have a little biais. When I started I had that biais too, wondering why people glazing the living hell out of this book.

Yes there are a lot of descriptions but everything makes sense and is used to deepen the experience. I liked it but not everyone does. And understandably.

        Anyway, take care friend.

I am unsure if i ever should retry reading it, but i had the same exp as you, and i also tryed other works of this author same result, i just dislike his writting i guess, ive read absolute bottom of the barrel stuff or even things that where literaly just info dumps^2, but this was hard to read even till ch 60-80 for me as far as i remember. Maybe its just the type thats a problem, like it feels somewhat similar to the god dev novels, they seem quite good, but are beyond beyond boring to read and its definitivly not because they are hard to read/understand, i quite literaly have fun reading math stuff, which is brutal to read(like because it just logic), but this i dont

I'm just saying, but I think u r used to reading webnovels from the start

I'm quite used to reading printed books (novels or otherwise) and printed ones obviously have paragraphs, cuz u wont waste paper by putting a new line with every little sentence unless u have an extremely dramatic scene. Meanwhile webnovels have that one-one line thing.

LOTM fits more with the printed book type (and it has been printed indeed), so it naturally has more paragraphs. Oh and about the info dumps, guess that part's all about taste, cant blame anyone for disliking it, nor question anyone for liking it (I liked it personally tho)

These internet trolls don’t even know how to evaluate properly. They just read the first 50 chapters and already think they have the authority to say if it’s bad or not. And these pieces of shit, in every novel, only know how to criticize as if they could do better. But I’m sure they just sit at home jerking off and commenting on this bullshit, thinking their dad is going to come back home. These abandoned losers, their parents probably left them because they’re just trash who only post useless comments.

What’s so hard about saying something nice to the author or encouraging people to read? But no, they call themselves "poison testers," yet not a single one of them says anything good about the story. They just read 50 chapters and already think they have the moral high ground to criticize, without even finishing the story. And when they do give their opinion, it’s just bullshit.

All I see is people talking bad about novels; no one says anything good. These damn trolls…

There are people who actually make good critiques and put effort into it because they like the story, but it reaches a point where they feel the need to comment on when it started going downhill. However, there are others who speak just to ruin other people's experience for their own pleasure. I feel disgusted by these people...

Sorry for these words, but I’m tired. I can’t even start reading a novel without seeing shitty comments about how bad it is. It discourages me from reading anything on this site. I’m tired of coming here and only seeing criticism. Dude, you’re already reading for free on this site, and you still want to talk shit like you’re someone important? If you were that important, you’d be paying to read, but instead, you’re here, enjoying free content. You can’t even be grateful to the people who upload paid content for free, and yet you still complain about the site for hosting Webnovel novels?

Man, seriously, go f#ck yourself, you ungrateful piece of shit. These ungrateful idiots should be kicked out…

      "Cry some more about that."
On a serious note tho, imo that is one of the reasons i dont have to filter through alot of nonsense novels, sure they on their own dont help but in mass can very well, i rarely see alot of those comments on novels undesvering novels, even if i like them, thag doesnt mean they arent bad or similar, also when exactly do those people claim that they are the authority? Its just a rev, they can say what they want even if they have read only 3 ch, aslong as they dont pretend to have read the entire novel, i couldnt care less, i Personaly make that very clear when i do such revs, imo such revs are about as valueable as ones that have read it fully on average. (A bit less, but not as much as you would expect, naturaly it still depends on if the person has read 3 or 30 ch, but if they have done atleast the latter than it most of the time doesnt matter much)

bro u just went ahead and became one of those trash-comment guys urself.

More importantly, this novel is good, no doubt about it, no matter if the idiots who only read 200 chaps and called it boring. Oh, but I dont get how ppl dont get hooked after reading the ending of the first arc.

No, there's no system in the sense that MC doesn't have that 'reincarnated with system' kinda system, but the power system(of the novel) and it's versatility are peak

Of course it's interesting. people complain that they are bored and have to read 4-5 chapters in a week. it's just f#cked up how much shit did they read before that so that they would have such a hard time reading this novel?. like, I read more than 150+ chapters myself in a week and no, I didn't quit at all.

Well, I finished this a while back. Today I just suddenly remembered a scene from this novel that was hard to forget or easy to remember with a wandering mind, but never mind, I just suddenly remembered and had a desire to share it.
There are many movements that are hard to forget but for me, it is this -

and it is not a spoiler so.......

Average because of the shitty rushed ending and average writing (it didn’t give me the satisfaction of his progression in sequence but gave me worries instead). I don’t know about others but I expect more daily life when mc is at peak. But I liked the story (it was great) and the logic behind every chapter but still shitty ending gloom

The rushed ending is sort of the point. It conveys the sense of urgency - Klein must advance to The Fool as quickly as he possibly can. He is being hunted by basically everyone, and that necessitates rushing.
The worries are also the point. Being a Beyonder means that you are above most of the population - but you will also be heavily targeted by other people of higher strength. The sense of fear is right. Klein, throughout the story, never truly gets to faceslap, because to advance, he must seek out stronger opponents.
