Saul traverses into a wizarding world filled with eerie mysteries and deadly crises.

Determined to survive, he resolves to overcome all obstacles and become a wizard. However, in this terrifying world, both apprentices and official wizards must constantly face the threat of death. Worse yet, Saul finds himself a prime target for persecution.

Fortunately, he acquires a diary that can predict the future.

But every prediction reads:

[You bled out and died.]

[You turned into fertilizer and found great satisfaction in your new form.]

[You laughed yourself to death.]

[Three years later, you became someone else’s potion ingredient.]

Saul: (╯‵□′)╯︵┻━┻ I don’t want this cheat anymore!

Wait… Saul’s eyes suddenly lit up—Did I just rule out another wrong choice?

Before long…

Diary: (╯#-皿-)╯~~╧═╧ This isn’t what a diary is supposed to do! Collapse

Read up to chapter 140. Highly recommend this one. It's somewhat similar to warlock in the magus world.

If you enjoyed Warlock of the Magus World for its dark fantasy elements, ruthless protagonist, and scientific approach to magic, here are some novel I have read you may or may not like

        City of Sin
Features a cunning protagonist navigating a world of magic and bloodline powers, with a focus on strategic growth and power dynamics.

        Mystical Journey
Follows a protagonist who explores various worlds, delving into different power systems and evolving through meticulous planning.

        Age of Adepts
Centers on a scientist reincarnated into a world of magic, where he uses his knowledge to ascend the ranks of adepts.

        The Wizard World
Combines elements of science and magic, featuring a protagonist who applies scientific methods to understand and master magical laws.

        Reverend Insanity
Presents a morally ambiguous protagonist who defies societal norms to pursue ultimate power, set in a world governed by Gu cultivation.

There are more but these are just the one I can remember some of them you can find on webnovel others I read elsewhere but it been a bit so I do not totally remember

Honestly, Warlock of the Magus World has really cool worldbuilding and concepts, but the excessive use of exclamation marks makes it exhausting to read. Every dialogue or character reaction feels overly forced and dramatic, even when it’s not necessary. I get that it might be the author’s original style or a common trait in Chinese web novels, but for readers who are used to a calmer pacing and tone, it really breaks the immersion. It’s made me lose the motivation to keep reading.

Don't read "Age of Adepts", it has the worst ending I've ever seen.

Btw "Diary of a Dead Wizard" also has quite abrupt ending and feels a unfinished, but it was still a pleasant read.

Give Sword god in a World of Magic a try. It gets really dark at the end but the novel is amazing.

Better quality than "The Age of Adepts", without a system, with elements of horror. In general, I recommend it.

The start of this novel is extremely good. Definitely recommend reading this just for the first few arcs.

There is a huge BUT here. After the Magus Tower arc
things start to go to shit. It seems to me that the author lost his edge and just wanted things to end.

I loved how initially knowledge itself carried weight, and you must be able to carry that weight if you want to learn more knowledge. The whole point of mages is to increase their carrying capacity to learn more knowledge. However, towards the middle and later part of the novel, the author completely forgets this aspect of knowledge and starts to dabble in completely different concepts.

The ending was both rushed and really underwhelming. Essentially most of the world building gets thrown under the bus for no freaking reason other than finishing the novel really fast.

It depends on how much of a turn-off the second half of the novel is.

Personally, if I had known the direction of the novel, I would have never read it. It isn't something unique. Some people aren't bothered by lower-quality writing.

That thing about world knowledge, maybe you didn't understood that one cause of MTL, the world of MC is one of the many worlds, many different form of leveling up exist, wizard system is just one of them, also if you completely convinced someone that knowledge he know from start to where he is, is false, has big problem or us missing, the knowledge inside his brain will completely corrupt him, it's like how a normal person can turn lunatic when everything he believe turn to false.
There are 3 Big courrption in wizard world
