Warning! Author is a bit of a sadist. MC's arrogance knows no bounds. First 250-300 chapter were difficult to get through, at least for me. MC was tortured and humiliated, but he was still too proud and arrogant even without having any power. It can be frustrating and annoying. After 300 chapters, it gets better. Ryu is still too arrogant, but he gets some power to act that way, so it's bearable. Cultivation system is really detailed and complex, i would say too much. Ryu has ridiculous, heaven-defying talents, but it often seems he doesn't have any control over his body and cultivation. It's like he's a passenger in his own body. Random things keep happening to him, outside of his control, so the plot feels forced sometimes. He's cultivating too many things, comprehending too much, so his cultivation is kinda slow. There are a lot of hype and exciting moments, but the pay-off is sometimes disappointing. It can build up frustration, if you get really immersed in the novel.

The premise of the book is really good. The main plot line is intriguing and genuine. It's a true cultivation novel, with drama and consequences.

The biggest let down is the cultivation system, its way too complex. The levels have similar names and no real explanation.

You cant tell if he is talking about spiritual cultivation, Qi cultivation or body. It is just way to hard to follow. This causes you to fall out of the immersion the book would otherwise give.

If anyone ever takes the time to re translate this novel, as it could be amazing, change the cultivation system to a better one.

The translation isn't the issue. The cultivation system is complicated as u said but if you read everything at once, it's easier.
The most confusing for me is the focus qi and the idea of weapon sovereign/lord or whatever.

It's basically the sunken cost fallacy. If u have invested time into reading 150 ull probably continue to 200 and then to 250 till either it's real bad or it stops

Dont be retarded, it’s because none of you have real arrogance. You don't earn arrogance, you are born with it, what idiot is arrogant of what they worked for, arrogance is only for the talented or those who are at the peak of what they do where it doesn't matter of they earned or had it, they now have a right. To put it simply you have no talents whatsoever, so you hate those that do which is why you hate those that do, and your pathetic existence starts to complain on one of two novels i have ever seen with an arrogant talented mc. Yet you dirty the comment section despite EVERY OTHER FUCKING NOEVEL EVER MADE, EVER SEEN, EVER STARTED, HAVING MCS WITH LESS TALENT THAN THE HAIRS ON MY HEAD

For those interested in this novel, visit this site: https://www.panda-novel.com/details/grand-ancestral-bloodlines(AON)-1161

This is where sites like ranobes get the premium chaps. But if that site has enough views it would release more premium chaps.

This is probably the most average novel I've read till now, it's not bad and it's not particularly good. The first thing that annoyed me was the 30 chapter prologue, with the Information that was provided the author could have shortened the chapters by a bit. The second thing that kind of made the story harder to understand were the power systems and Rankings of things, there is no Ranking whatsoever for the cultivation stages IN the story, only in chapter 0. The author likes to use a lot of info dumps and introduces so many different rankings with unique names that it is impossible to remember even two of them. The tournament arc at the beginning I skipped for the half part cause there was nothing interesting about it, just at the end, revenge. The World building itself is pretty bad, after his Prologe, while I know that there are 4 kingdoms now, I have absolutely no Idea what the surroundings look like, just sometimes they are described. The fights are pretty good. Oh yeah the author sometimes writes about something that was never mentioned or explained like faith/fate or the supposedly "destruction" of the tatsuaya clan. I have not read the book to the end as of now.

I read almost 100 chapter and nothing happened It is basically all world building for nothing I read all the Tatsuya clan world building went for like 30 chapters I swear. Then suicided and reincarnated still had to wait for some plot just to have my can’t later cultivate because of some other things. Basically no cultivation was occurring.

I think the flaw in this story and what makes it complicated for the author to create a story is that our mc is too talented. So when developing a plot he suffers quite a bit and is debuffed to create tension and obstacles. It’s difficult to create a heroes journey for the MC , because I believe there was almost nothing to compete for given is starting point and those bloodlines and talent. However I read other comments recommending this novel because it gets better and to endure I few more chapters and that it’s worth it but I can’t take it I’m dropping. I’ll come back when I have patience pressure

Trust me, I understand your pain, I dropped it no less than 4 times. But eventually I made it through(speed read some difficult ones) and it gets awesome at later stages. There is even the routine going to higher realms part later that i usually dislike and most of the times that's where I drop novels if done repeatedly, but here it was done in a great way but I don't want to spoil it. The world building might feel exhaustive at first but you will find it really interesting later on.
And most importantly the mc has flaws too. This is one of the few novels I know that has actual character development. You can feel him grow from a petulant child to an angsty teen and so on.
