          VTB became a shadow, stole from Sunny, escaped, and left the shadow of her child in his soul.

          When Sunny gains a regular shadow, the spell says his shadow has become stronger, but when he gains a Shadow (Serpent, Nightmare), the spell says he gained a Shadow. I don't think VTB became a full-fledged shadow creature that quickly, and Sunny only gains Shadow by killing shadow creatures. So it must be Spawn.

Perhaps the Spawn won and was just waiting all this time. Perhaps the Spawn and Ananke found common ground. Perhaps the Saint simply killed the Spawn, and the anomalous nature of time dictated that it happened now. In any case, VTB escaped and left Sunny with the child.

              It depends on how many and what kind of shadows the bird stole. But I think Sunny lost this battle, or reached a fair draw. Giving him a big reward would simply be unfair.

    Okay, so what was VTB's plan? Did she steal the eye, go mad, lay an egg, and fly off to Oblivion's tomb to forget what she saw? Then she accidentally met Sunny, stole his destiny and her child, and decided to wait for him in the tomb to cleanse herself of the taint. And the Weaver manipulated all of this.       How Sway?…you telling me the spawn was with them the whole time and not fighting Ananke? You telling me the spawn survived Nephis and Sunny’s assault without being found? You tell me it survived that entire battle and the killing intent of Nethers echo/reflection and made it into the future with Sunny, watched its mother die, was killed by Sunny to get into his soul but the spell didn’t announce it? Or are you saying somehow the VTB in the space of a few thoughts went out of Sunny’s soul sea, snatched the spawn from god knows where, put it in Sunny’s soul sea and is now somehow making it a Shadow without Sunny’s consent?
