    Congratulations to all the Skywalkers who voted POV will stay with Sunny. These are going to take up a few chapters getting sunny reacquainted with the spell and the updates on his runes as well as his internal battle with VTB taming it inside his seasoul. If I'm not mistaken Slayer was saint or sovereign rank when sunny locked her up, but he didn't have the spell's help back then so IDK. VTB is sacred now so good luck with your sacred bird training Sunny, we wish youn the best with getting familiar with that new familiar.

    Looking on the bright side though, you've nothing to worry about Asterion now. Your newest shadow familiar VTB is a sacred thief, a sacred shadow thief that can steal anything shiny. It'll definitely go steal those sparkling golden eyes of that Miniature Sovereign with or without your guidance.

    So the bird took the nameless temple? Seems like an issue.

    Even when he kills it it’s not like it dropped anything. Does this bird have some infinite special storage that just follows it forever even after becoming a shadow?

        Vtb would be a shade not a shadow. And since the chapter specifically stated vtb escaped leaving no traces i doubt thats the case

          - Because of this, he can’t summon his Shadows—time itself separates them.

          👁️ The Nightmare Spell Returns
          - A chilling, familiar voice whispers: the Nightmare Spell.
          - It acknowledges Sunny, calling him by his True Name: Lost from Light.
          - Sunny feels triumphant—he’s truly back in the Spell’s embrace.
          - The Spell rewards him:
          - A Sacred Memory.
          - A new shade for his Shadow Legion (the bird’s shade).

          ⚡ The Twist
          - Sunny, greedy as ever, asks if there’s a backlog of rewards.
          - Instead, the Spell announces:
          - You have lost a Memory.
          - You have lost a shade.
          - You have lost a Citadel.
          - Panic sets in—his gains are being stripped away.
          - He realizes the Vile Thieving Bird tricked him, using him to cleanse its corruption and then escaping with stolen power.
          - The bird absconds, leaving Sunny weakened and robbed.

          🌓 The Final Blow
          - Just when Sunny reels from the losses, the Spell whispers one last line:
          - You have gained a Shadow.
          - The chapter closes with this ominous, bittersweet note—Sunny is both betrayed and rewarded, left uncertain of what this new Shadow truly means.

          If it was the spawn becoming a Shadow the spell would’ve announced Sunny’s kill first, right? Like you have killed the VTB spawn..do you want to create a Shadow? Type shii..like it always did before.the VTB would be way OP if it did all that and got away with it..like stealing his thoughts so he's also confused..the only one with him rn and that can do that that fast and easily is the VTB.

    I can only remember Amon tricking Klein into the abandoned land of the Gods to steal the Castle, well it was too easy to kill that disgusting bird hahahahahahaha well it turned into a shadow, the first spirit of the next Shadow God

          Oh is it any good? Is the writer Chinese? Coz I don't read Chinese novels that steal trending plots from other stories like one piece or Lovecraft's work then pass it off as their own imagination

            It’s not anywhere close to one piece or HP lovecrafts story. It draws some inspiration from the concepts of lovecraftian horror/gods but it’s a very unique story with impeccable world building

              That's nice then, I’ve been hearing a lot of hype about Lord of the Mysteries, but from the outside looking in, it kind of feels like a massive "copy-paste" job of better-known stuff.

              Does it actually have an original bone in its body?

              From what I’ve gathered, it seems like a total mashup of:

              * Bloodborne: It’s got the exact same Victorian "top hats and industrial smog" vibe, plus the whole "potions that make you go insane" thing. Is it just Yharnam with the serial numbers filed off?

              * The SCP Foundation: The "Sealed Artifacts" with their specific grades and dangerous side effects sound exactly like SCP containment files. It feels like the author just scrolled the SCP wiki and turned it into a magic system.

              * Lovecraft: "Great Old Ones," "Outer Deities," and the idea that knowing too much melts your brain that’s just Cthulhu 101.

              * The Tarot Club: A secret group meeting in a dream world to trade info? That sounds like every "mysterious organization" trope from Naruto or Hunter x Hunter.

              For those who’ve actually finished it, is the story just a clever remix of things I’ve already seen, or does it actually do something new with all those "stolen" ideas?

              Would you say the magic system is the only thing that’s truly unique, or is there a plot twist that makes all these parallels actually make sense?

              BTW are you sure it doesn't have a "one piece" pirates of the Caribbean type volume copied in it? I heard German sparrow was a pirate too. Even sounds like captain jack Sparrow

              What about the movie "IT" and Chucky? Have you watched that? That was one scarry regenerating Clown and doll that did a lot of acrobatics. The movie gave me nightmares

                Ehh, well… I’d say it’s actually a pretty well-crafted copy-paste.
                I’m someone who really enjoys Lovecraft-style storytelling, and personally I liked it even more because the power system and the overall consistency of the world in LOTM are quite solid. But if you’re a hardcore fantasy fan, there are definitely some aspects that might drive you crazy (in a bad way).
                For example, there are so many names taken from The Lord of the Rings that I genuinely got tired of it after a while.
                Still, I think it’s worth giving it a shot. Or at least you could check out the anime—it only has one season so far. It’s Chinese, but there should be an English dub available.

                  Someone who actually knows what he's talking about got any recommendations for me my friend? Have you read "Gideon the Ninth" pub 2019? It's about a melee nicromancer and I was wondering about the similarities of it with Shadow Slave released 2022

                  The writer Tamsyn Muir also released 2 other books Harrow the ninth 2020 and Nona the ninth 2022. The dates really make me wonder if Shadow Slave was somehow inspired out of these books

                  Also they're about the ninth house and Shadow Slave has its own version of the nine

                  PS Gideon wears a deamon or skull mask only difference is Gideon is female lesbian..... come to think about it that's another parallel... Gideon is a man's name on a woman where's Sunny is a woman's name on a man
