Gods and demons are everywhere in the Grand Desolate World.

Jiang Lan finally becomes a disciple of Kunlun Mountain; specifically—the only disciple of the Ninth Summit.

Knowing the dangers outside, he decides to stay hidden in the Ninth Summit’s Netherworld Cave and cultivate in seclusion. With a unique sign-in system unknown to everyone else, Jiang Lan acquires several divine powers, Dharma treasures, and other aids to enhance his cultivation along the way.

His current goal is to keep his actual cultivation level a secret, remain a low-key Kunlun disciple and stay out of harm’s way until he is strong enough to take on any obstacles.

Only when he emerges from his cultivation after some time does his Master bring him an important message: Kunlun has found him a fiancée. Collapse

This shit is a complete waste of time, one of the most average and boring shit i've read this year. Bland characters, Unfunny comedy, Peanut gallery, Boring cultivation system. This novel had the most average in everything.

    1. There's comedy tag but even after reading hundreds of chapters there's no comedy worth noting. There's no nothing funny about this novel. Immortals and cultivators all think in the most stupid way possible.

I guess this is why this novel has comedy tag it's basically characters saying stupid and unreasonable things equates to being funny? So according to this novel basically Stupid/Unreasonable = Comedy
    2. It has one of the worst and worthless character interactions in the novel, even characters from Invisible Dragon had more depth and personality than all characters in this novel. All characters are so disconnected to each other their emotions felt so artificial and fake, all side characters don't have any depth even after hundreds of chapters these characters barely said something that actually affect the plot. (MC's master, Summit leaders, Immortal Old man innkeeper & demon child, Human Immortal Senior Brother from 8th summit) all these people i listed up are pretty much the characters that appears quite often and basically the best character the novels can offer but lemme tell you, NONE OF ANY OF THESE PEOPLE HAVE CHARACTER DEPTH and that's the best side characters you can get.
    3. Villains in this novel are only one-time use like tissue, if they appear in the current chapter they basically going to die that very same chapter or the longest they live is basically until the next chapter. Then new one-time villains will appear again and then repeat the same formula. This happened not once, not twice, not thrice and definitely will not end the fourth time. This happened so many f*cking times after less than 200 chapters and i bet all villains appear the same way and will die the same way in the subsequent chapters without exception.
    4. The writing of the novel is very verbose and filled with infinite amount of word padding, they're already longer than they're supposed to be and if that's not enough author will also repeat the sentences and explanation four or five times (it's only been hundreds of chapters so i bet it will be repeated for dozens of chapters later in the story.) For example: MC often chose to walk and didn't fly because he said he is afraid of offending people if he accidentally fly over the head of some cultivators. This part was written repeatedly so many f*cking times.

Tbh i could have read through all these shit if the Cultivation realms are at least interesting. This novel is a worst version of Top Tier Providence, at least top tier Providence have actual emotion. This novel is lacking in emotion and depth.

If you read novels like Forced to Ascend the Throne after Transmigrating or My wife Is a General who Killed Tens of Thousands on The Battlefield you'll basically realize just how bad this novel is. Those novels are not masterpieces but definitely a novel with great character interactions and golden comedy.

To the person who may read this,. Do read or try this novel. In the ruthless world of xianxia and wuxia novels, where warmth and joyfulness are rarely found, this one shines like the jade pool of the Kunlun Mountain. You, the person reading, will love it. All I have to say.

For a cultivation-romance novel, this work spends an astonishingly little amount of time going over the cultivation process or the development of relationship, in my subjective view.

Each cultivation stage is treated as a hurdle, and increase in power feels like an unrelated improvement rather than an increase in quality.

The system is very convenient, and always gives him what he needs when he needs them. It feels more like an afterthought that the author sometimes remember and brings back.

The romance feels very lacklustre. For something that leans towards Slice of life, the author very frequently glosses over development through “they grew closer over a decade of spending time together”, rather than showing the slice of life. It’s only after this growth where author shows the character interactions, essentially skipping the initial part.

I can see people who like fluff novels enjoying this work, not my cup of tea.

Okay, if you like the worldbuilding of cultivation novels but don't care too much about all the fighting and detailed descriptions of how cultivation works, this novel is for you. Plus, it handled the exponential power scaling of cultivation extremely well. Its sometimes funny, sometimes fluffy, and occasionally badass, and I think this is going to be on my list of the best CN novels I've read with how this story managed to wrap everything up into a nice story that literally made me sigh "wow..." when I finished the final chapter.

I finished the novel. It was fun for me, but let me tell you-it's not everyones cup of tea... It is more of a slice of life that cultivation novel. I love that we can see how MC grows as a person and i love the romance aspect... it is a little bit cheesy and sometimes boring, but if you want a story to pass your time - it is a good read. It can be soo much better and i feel that author can do better, but all in all i loved it. 3.9/5

I read this elsewhere and absolutely enjoyed my time reading it. It was a really needed change of pace at the time and ended up being one of the few Novels I've completed, I'd reccomend it to anyone looking for something nice to read.

Some thoughts after about ~12 chapters,
Author's writing sucks, not the translation but the writing style (not saying translation does not suck cos it's not good either). Author provides basically no descriptions to anything, for people, places, scenarios etc. For all readers know, everyone in the novel could be slimes and the world is underwater or in space (well yea I did exaggerate a bit there)

Edit: It improves somewhat as chapters go on, both writing and translation, or maybe I just got used to it

As for your review bro, I will have to read it first because the slimes and underwater analogy went straight above my head, so will give it a try. Thanks for the review. welldone
