Gods and demons are everywhere in the Grand Desolate World.

Jiang Lan finally becomes a disciple of Kunlun Mountain; specifically—the only disciple of the Ninth Summit.

Knowing the dangers outside, he decides to stay hidden in the Ninth Summit’s Netherworld Cave and cultivate in seclusion. With a unique sign-in system unknown to everyone else, Jiang Lan acquires several divine powers, Dharma treasures, and other aids to enhance his cultivation along the way.

His current goal is to keep his actual cultivation level a secret, remain a low-key Kunlun disciple and stay out of harm’s way until he is strong enough to take on any obstacles.

Only when he emerges from his cultivation after some time does his Master bring him an important message: Kunlun has found him a fiancée. Collapse

The pace of the novel is really not my type... It is like classic cultivation novel, filler paragraph just to describe one small event. Like fighting to kill, there's so much bullshit before final move. Just picking treasure there are mob mocking him. And the mob is flat NPC, doesn't add to story or anything. For example "Hmpph, MC weak..", "Hahaha, his just qi cultivatior..", etc...

And my type of pace is little bit faster like 'Journey of the Fate Destroying Emperor'. For the newer viewer of Cultivation Novel, classic pacing is fine. But it gets annoying when you know already know most of the trope. And the novel will not be enjoyable to read.
(I'll just finish 20 chapter. After seeing other review, the chapter becomes good after 100 or so chapter. I might be change this review in the future.)

If you're not into romance then you can probably drop right now because it won't change that much in other aspects

Since I started reading this novel, I didn't expect much and thought it was just another Chinese formulaic novel. But I was very wrong. This is the most interesting xiangxia (cultivation) novel in my life. Although the beginning is a bit formulaic, it's a great piece overall. I am very glad that I read this masterpiece. whether it's a description of the characters or the world, everything is done very well. Even the humor here is not annoying and complements the picture. The characters are not disposable and logical (which is rare for xiangxia) I advise everyone to read. (English is not my native language)

5/5. Sure, the ending was fast, rushed even. Sure, the names might’ve been hard to remember. Sure, maybe the fights were boring.

But in the end, that’s not what this story is about. This story is about one’s emotions. It’s about emotional upheaval, about character change, and about finding love in an arranged marriage. This is not truly a cultivation novel, nor a romance novel, nor a system novel.

In the end, this is about change. It is about how time changes the best and worst of us, how we seem to change little day by day and yet we are so different when we look back.

It has been a beautiful time following the Main Character, Jiang Lan, on his journey.

    Thank you.

First review. Not gonna say much, ending was a bit fast, but not bad. I loved the story, probably cause it was my first sign-in novel and he is actually low-key so it was interesting. I loved the mortal life part. I'm sad now 4

If you haven't already read, i'd definitely recommend "Ave Xia Rem Y".

It's xianxia done right - competent characters, meaningful motivations, super worldbuilding, awesome dialogue & good romance.

The only thing bad about the novel is the terrible name.
