Immortal In The Magic World巫师世界的永生者

Ok honest review, as an experienced reader. I have a lot of things to say for this novel. All in all, the novel is what exactly it's title. A literal immortal in a declining magic cultivation world. He is not from an immortal wuxia or something, he is just basically a transmigrator who got the body of a boy who had a talent of immortal. The first few chapters focus on the basics, like what's and who is the mc and his relationship. All in all, ideally, they would love the mc as he is a rational person who decides with logic and not a person who instigates or join problems like others mcs. But this took away the excitement out of the novel, as the novel focuses on being a background character who just have to wait because he is an immortal. See, the start was kinda exciting and I expected it to be fun, but as time passes the story goes to lame and stale. It all started when he let the former director to find the ruins of magic. The novel highlights on the difficulties on being an immortal. Yes, it was exciting, as one could feel that time can defeat talent. But one of the main problems is the character development, it's like both the author and the MC is fixated on what happens when you lose relationships because of time, which is fine as a side note of the story, but overtime it became the focus, and the mc change so much that it alienates its audience, I know we want MC to mature and be cool headed though what happened was that it became too realistic to the point that you don't like the character anymore for example, He made human experiments which is not bad, he put on a slavery seal or mental seal to several people. As if he is making himself the bad guy. Yes, we can make reason why he did that, but we can consider it unconventional, still it leaves a bad taste in your tongue and also, I realized one of the weaknesses is the not existence Indepth explanation of magic cultivation. As if he only reaches the next milestone every passing time. All in all, boring sorry

It's a waste of time if I'm being honest

Translation quality varies, but in general it is pretty crappy. I've seen better MTL (which makes me assume, that this IS some sort of edited MTL in the first place), but I have also seen worse.
What pisses me off the most is the world building. It borrows a lot from 'Warlock of the Magus World' (which is fine), but in a very lazy way. There's no real reason given for having so few supernaturals around. I can live with the excuse given for having few actual Magus/Wizards due to lack of materials and low concentration of elemental particles (and that other thing), but almost everyone can become an acolyte and cast low level spells. All person needs is spell model and meditation technique with no apparent drawbacks. One really needs to hold his suspense of disbelief about how such useful knowledge became scarce in the first place, given that supernaturals don't give a crap about regular people.
Warlocks being 'dumb' and throwing books out is also UNBELIEVABLY stupid.
Heck, most things MC does is often unbelievably stupid too. Kudos for at least some consistency, I guess.
Most chapters in this work can be nitpicked to death due to how poorly thought trough things in this work are in general.
Like the translation, it's not the worst, but calling it good is VERY generous.

This novel has some translation issues and some questionable character actions but overall I think it is worth reading and is enjoyable. It has a very interesting premise and introduces us to the larger plot pretty early on.

There are many time skips and the focus of the story is on Eli experimenting, learning, and trying to get the maximum use of his immortality while still progressing at a decent pace. Action is rare but still present.

This novel is between a 3/5 and 4/5 for me. I recommend you give it a try.

This novel is off to a good start and I liked the first 120 chapters, but I am seeing it is started to fizzle out like any Chinese novel would, starting from when he entered the warlock camp, totally boring arc.

MC is too laid back and cautious, as he is an immortal.
Interaction with other characters are utterly meaningless as he stopped giving a damn about them, for his own mental health of course. If MC is involved in research all the time with lot of info dumps, chances are, that novel gets boring real quick.
MC doesn't believe in forming proper relationship, not after all his friends died of old age in bryne empire. He brands people's soul and turn them into his slave, regardless of friend or foe, which has started get on my nerves.

A very good novel. If you like Warlock of the Magus World you will like this. Except this one should be titled Magus of the Warlock World. One small problem, The author sucks with numbers.

This novel gives me the warlock of the magus world/the wizarding world vibes and i love it.
I love the mc but i wished the the mc went into a romantic relationship in his twentys. Because it will have given us the chance to see some romance and later when she would die it would have carried more wait because we didn't see the mc's mortal friends getting too much development
