Just finished it. It was definitely worth the read, but the rush could be noticed from the last 200 chapters.


A definite 5/5 novel. It took me 2 months to get over the first hundreds of info dump chapters, but then I just got carried away until I finished it in about 4 months.



In any case, anyone got any novels (like published ones) that are recommended which are up to standards?

Also novels with good writing and plot without cliché troupes could be recommended. I'm out of options recently.

I personally liked the novel, even though it took some time to get myself to start it.
For me, the biggest turn off was the synopsis and the talk about steam punk and a lot of churches. But after having nothing else to read, I just started this novel and I can only say, it got me hooked.

If you fear that this will be a novel with the mc clashing against the church’s at every opportunity, you can be at ease. The churches are generally very reasonable(at least the orthodox) not like in the Middle Ages.
And the steam punk aspect is very realistic, befitting a 19th century like fantasy world.

The „power system“ is very well fleshed out and the author took his time and put some thoughts behind it.
The same with the world background. The Kingdom where most of the plot takes place, is based on Great Britain and does it job justice. What I mean by that is, have you who is reading this ever watched Sherlock Holmes with Robbert Downey jr. ? There are probably better movie examples but what I want to explain is the way every thing is grimy and full of coal dust. While reading this novel, I could really imagine the dirty streets, the smok filled air and general 19th century like industrial pollution.

I also like the fact that the society works without the mc, of course we follow him but that doesn’t mean everyone lays down his work the moment the mc leaves and waits for him to come back so that they become „alive“ again, like in other novels(hope you get what I mean).

I can only give you the advise to start and give it a chance.
There is a reason this novel got so highly rated.

Plus I will definitely support the author, even though I read it here for free( I don’t want to start the typical discussion but for a novel as great as this the author deserves some love and support)

I've read many reviews about this novel and I have personally read it and I must say with upmost respect,you all are morons. You review a novel after reading it until the end and not read 1-2 chapters only. Read it until the end or don't even review at all, you're just tarnishing the good name of authors

reviews here are suspicious as hek. This novel is ok.. as some who hates hyperboles, its definetly not anywhere near masterpiece. If they say it is then they dont understand the definition, or their experience is only that much.

ps. web novels is not a place to find "masterpiece" regardless of how much you read.

There's this story where the mc wakes up in a deserted place after being unconscious (we come to know of the mc being saved by his mentor while they were attacked "I think it was in a prison")..the mc travels looking for a habitable place till he finds a farm infected by pests.. a certain villager thinks the mc wants to further ruin there farm to decrease there yields but the mc refutes the notion saying that instead he can help them kill the pests..the villager his happy and go consult with the village elder who in turns out to be enthusiastic, the mc (who is an array smith /rune smith whatever its called in the book) then proceeds to draw an array/rune which helps eliminating the pests after some time..the mc is taken to the village as an honoured guest..the mc hunts in the village and soon we see him meet a strong young girl in the forest who is in danger from a "barbarian" unfortunately helps come accidentally from a young man( from a large sect who offers him help)..the mc soon lives with the young girl at the village but after some time they decide to leave the village to a big town searching for an academy..soon the mc reaches the town while taking place in the academy competitions he start selling swords,sabers imbued with runes which seem to be much better than others on the same level.. the mc makes enemies with young masters and during the end of the competition he is treated unfairly by the judges but soon he rescued by a power house who came looking for the young girl..the mc learns of his true origins and how his father was massecerd and also how his talent was snatched by someone when he was still young..the mc makes a journey to his real roots but we see a certain family trying to hinder journey he forced to massacre his way.. when the mc reaches his destination he finds that his family has since fallen and are divided into three groups who are all enemies..the mc plans to reunite the family but we see him facing slot of difficulties..
Can someone help me find this masterpiece

This any good? Finished reading TLM a month or two ago and dont really want to commit to anything long term like that if its bad or mid.

Last 400 chapters translation, sure is a pain in the ass
I hope book 2 wouldn't have that kinda problem

The first time reading the best novel on the site after rereading TLM and I'm hooked. This is a MASTERPIECE. The writing style of the author attracts the reader forcing me to smash that next chap button and there are like little to no filler that feels boring
