On the Yuan Continent, fantastic beasts and powerful cultivators exist. Their immense power is capable of shattering mountains and emptying oceans.

On this continent lives John Fenix, an unfortunate youth who is unable to cultivate and wield such immense power. John could only powerlessly look up to others and watch as they soared to heights unseen.

After a fortuitous encounter with a mysterious object, John finds himself able to cultivate. Determined to never feel powerless again, John sets out on a cultivation path filled with danger and excitement. Utilizing powerful cultivation arts found within the mysterious object, John sets out to write his own legend and ascend beyond the heavens. Collapse

Too many cliches and naive MC. He fking cares for literally everyone in the world and has inferiority complex. I mean I held on until more than 100 chapters but nah. Too dumb and forced plot like an old chinese novel trend.

I honestly rate this really highly. I’ve read quite a few of these kinds of novels and I think this is one of my favourites. MC is NOT a pussy, he just doesn’t kill everyone willy nilly. If you cross him, he’ll get them back no questions.

If you like this type of mc then I genuinely recommend “Outside of Time” by Ergen.

Alternatively, you can read "Beyond the Timescape". Same novel as Outside of Time but with higher quality translation. However this one has less translated chapters compared to Outside of Time from Webnovel

As Kelly45 said mc is a pussy and not an asura. He literally doesn’t kill innocents like that ain’t an asura, that’s retarded.

Tbh, I don't imagine an asura as a mindless killer even though it's supposed to be a demon. I picture an asura as a fighter that kills thousands or millions on the battlefield. Something glorious, otherwise, why would they be known for their fighting capabilities ? How does killing innocents (I imagine you mean people who haven't cultivated before or have low cultivations) show your fighting prowess ? But, maybe that's just me. For the fellow Daoists that read this message, I'd be interesting in knowing what you picture an Asura as kef

Asuras are Indian battle demons. They only have power in their eyes and they will destroy everything for that. They aren’t necessarily evil but the mc is just trash. He just dishonors the title of asura. Now again it’s been so long since I read this novel.

Nah man Asura or Asur can both be good and malovlent, in the vedic period Good Asur are called Aditya led by Varuna while bad Asur are called Danava led by Vritra infact some of major gods ruling Swarga are said to belong to clan of Asuras and all have different kind of powers, not just in eyes

I think it depends on how you see Asuras, some see them as demons which only have power in their eyes so they will destroy everything in their way towards other strong people (instead of going to the strong person and fight him/her to the death and accidentally kill innocent people/people with low cultivation in a city/sect it would instead choose to kill indiscriminately because why not). While others she them as demons which only have power in their eyes but they wouldn't kill weak people, because they are weak they are not worthy enough maybe a if they are a nuisance they would kill them but not just because (think they are humans while the weaker people are ants).

Excuse me asshole, but what got you so pained about my comment. Is it the poor quality of the book, or the fact that Chinese authors write better cultivation novels, because newsflash, they do. So f#ck off

it's a generic cultivation novel, it's okayish I guess. There is nothing unique or original. For me MC is absolutely off putting, so I dropped. Give it a try if you have time, maybe you might like this. Peace ✌️ out.
