    One of my first novels, so maybe I'm biased.Even now I can read it calmly, as it causes nostalgia.My first trip with a spear owner.(which prompted the search for fencing masters and other professionals)

    It's a great story.An interesting story.I would like to mention such a quality as "Pride" in the main character. He feels proud of his perseverance and efforts in martial arts, which were given in blood and sweat. Despite the fact that he himself is calm and modest. In general, I advise everyone, both novices and veterans!

      If you would like to see another story where the protagonist reaches the highest point of mastery with the spear, I would recommend 'The Second Coming of Gluttony,' a very good novel.

    Truth be told, I was driven by the recommendations.
    And this drive continued for 790 chapter after the tolerable 200.

    That means, all good that was in the novel ended at the mark of ~150 Chapters.
    All good and all new. After the 1st arc, all else are useless repetitions with no substance.

    Plus, the author constantly tries to use false logic and lies to put the plot in the necessary direction.
    And I hate this style.

    P.S.
    Turns out, people that give this novel and MC a high score - didn't read any books\don't value their time.
    For the 1st book in Cultivation genre, you can always go to the Warlock of the Magus World, and then follow with Er Gen's series. (I love Wang Lin [After the 1st 800 Chapters], I didn't like Su Ming [Although, he is a lot similar to this novel's Lin Ming], and, objectively speaking, Meng Hao was his peak performance)

    After them, it would be hard to find a decent enough read.
    But there are still some: Sage Monarch, for once (which was all I wanted from the XuanHuan styled novels, and still compels me to search good once in this sub-genre), or Desolate Era (I strongly believe, that I've read, at least, a dozen of novel, for the past year, that started exactly as Desolate Era, but were worse overall).

      I love how you downplay everyone who likes the novel only to than follow it up with Warlock of the Magus World and even something like Sage monarch(not as bad but still wouldnt put it anywhere near even something like Desolate Era despite finding it only barely good), (Er gen novels are fine just that they are leagues above Warlock of the Magus World), desolate era while fine is pretty much what you have as a critic of this novel, and lastly for someone who has 'read books' you didnt realy recommend many good Cultivation novels espically considering that, excluding Er gens ones, half of what you recommend is just not good. Truly something i would expect from someone who not only considers Warlock of the Magus World at the same level as Er gen novels, but also as a good novel(if it wasnt your first novel than you dont realy have an excuse for that tbh)

      Also Xu Qing is completly beyond the other 5(btw that with Magus world is a joke, it comes from the people that claim its a flawless masterpiece and say its good points are the things it actually is the worst at, personaly dislike the novel even without this but doesnt mean much otherwise and i find Sage monarch also just mehh since i am pretty much incapable of remembering anything about it even tho i know that ive read it completly)
      (Also the reason im so contary is because of that downplaying of everyone liking the novel and that i disagree with your opinion, while yes the novel does repeat itself and probably has quite a bit of cliche its not anywhere near being a complete waste of time, i personaly liked it and can see people disliking it espically considering how old it is, but i still find it solid overall)

        I do not, that Magus is a complete remake of the original novel with fixed plot and cultivation level points, but it doesn't make any worse than the Er gen novels.

        In truth, that is exactly the novel you need to read, to accept the cultivation mentality.

        Lots of tropes in cultivation genre are unlike the western fantasy with flashy magic, politics, schemes and chivalry.
        And hardly any Chinese novel makes the effort to introduce the readers to the world as a whole, and it's rules in particular.

        P.S.
        As for Sage Monarch? One point in which he is leagues above other MCs is preparations.
        They are usually skimmed over, with is another major advantage, in my opinion, but he usually waited to his absolute peak strength for any advancements and dashing actions.

        If it is not enough to call it good, then I am confused as to what novels are actually good.

          You fundamentaly dont understand the word Entertainment? So called bare logic in Entertainment, can only remotly exist based on personal feelings of people.
          If it is not enough to call it good, then I am confused as to what novels are actually good.
          It's quite simple: your question depends on what you're actually asking. If you're asking what's good for you personally, I don't know and frankly, I don't care; you're the only one who can answer that, and if you ask anyone else, they can only answer for themselves as well. If you want to know what's good in general, you're essentially asking for an average of perceived ratings, and when people like me try to rate something based on this type of general "good", these are merely estimations based on what I believe about what others believe about certain tropes, actions, character development, world-building, writing quality, and so on(if its just my own"good" it obviously only considers what i like). These estimations cannot reflect how "good" something actually is because, fundamentally, there's no accurate measurement for that type of stuff, and even if there were, we most definitely wouldn't discover it in our lifetimes; everything is just an estimation, and more often than not, it's inaccurate. Just because something is popular doesn't automatically make it good, because many people can still dislike it, and conversely, something can be totally unknown yet potentially be something everyone would find "good," and all of this is merely a very general conceptualization and simplification.

            That is indeed an issue. Too often I find reviews completely conflicting with mine on my favourite stories.

            Oftentimes the reviews even conflict among themselves. It leaves me at a loss on how to find stories I'll like without having myself read simply everything (, or finding someone similar thoughts?)

            Well, there's a lot more I could say regarding the forms of reviews that may be more beneficial to me.

    По моему мнению у тайтла явно проблемы с оценкой. 1) Эти бесконечные пощёчины, что есть в каждой второй культяпке. 2) гг как всегда идёт в какую-то секту либо в школу несмотря на свой офигенный чит. 3) постоянное недооценка гг, а потом:"ОООО КАК ОН СМОГ ЭТО СДЕЛАТЬ ЭТО ЖЕ УДАР, ЕГО ЖЕ ПРОТИВНИКОМ БЫЛ ТРЕХЯИЧНЫЙ СИМБИОТ МУТАНТ, КОТОРЫЙ ОДНИМ УДАРОМ СВОЕГО ЧЛЕНА ПЕРЕВОРАЧИВАЕТ ГОРЫ И РЕКИ. Короче, для начала своего пути в веб-романах пойдёт, но когда у тебя за спиной много прочитанных тайтлов, где как и гг, так и второстепенные персонажи хорошо прописаны становится непонятно откуда такая оценка(максимум 3-3,5/5).       I agree, in recent years there have been only a couple of normal books in the cultivation genre. There is too much garbage in this genre now.
      What can you do, people want crap with a system where the MC becomes OP on chapter 5 for no reason. When such crap is popular, you would expect that only such books would be written by authors.
      Finding something good in the cultivation genre is becoming so difficult that it is easier to just reread the old ones in a circle.
