I see everyone is praising this novel here but from the start of vol. 2 it wasn't the type of story i would expect due to its title i don't like the direction in which the character development of mc is going

If truly want to read what ruthless protagonist is you can read "Warlock of magus World "

I highly recommend it
the story progress is relatively good the character development is great the side character great there is not much cliché
The cultivation system is interesting and fresh The world building is fantastic.

Great arch so far man can’t wait for more, just have 1 grievance and it’s that the events panning out seems like everyone is progressing and MC is stagnating I know author saving it for giving him huge crazy power spikes but it sucks, not fussy about his cultivation speed cause you know not trying to read fast lvl novel like solo leveling but other aspects, like his alchemy skills were growing like crazy and now he is just stuck at mortal sovereign and every 30 chapter they describing something great mortal sovereigns can do and are still relevant, he just feels like a pill farm at this point like the alchemy isn’t going hand it hand with boosting him

Not taking away how OP his alchemy and everything is but it kinda sucks that it’s been a whole 500 chapter since he stepped into mortal sovereigns and no little to no improvement. Just glad that Wei Wuyin is back in action though hope we don’t get flooded with info dump over info dump back to back and the story can progress cause it looks like this novel is gonna be one of those 3000+ chapter ones so we in for a long ride

Overall thanks you Author Kevin-San hopefully you don’t kill is with more monthly hiatuses man, we need to see the plot rolling

And to correct what peeps keep saying Mc doesn’t have a gonna die the next day attitude he just knows that one day he may not survive the calamities so he tries not to deviate from his cultivation path to increases his odds. Which I appreciate instead of a Mc always saving female lead then she leeches onto him

Or this alt cultivation ones were they facing tribulations/calamities but they just get handed everything to cheat it at last minute or unlock new found resistance etc.

We all know Wei is gonna clutch it but it’s not given away that he will


And I have a prediction that one of these calamities might actually kill him but they’ll pull a bs Nirvana rebirth rising from the ashes coming back stronger hack moment

Still one of my fav cultivation novels on this site, we don’t get that constant fight fight fight, but excellent writing skills and story telling from the author

Yea like, it's like writing an essay and trying to catch word limit. It's like the readers are 10 year olds where he goes to great lengths to explain everything in detail. Info dump every chapter.

The story is good but harem is the worst I have ever read. The mc is like a garbage collector.

The author has rather peculiar tastes when it comes to women and relationships.

So fellow readers proceed with caution.

Damn man, this stuff is good.

Trust me, first 19 chaps are really boring with the info dumps ( like description of every woman out there, her b.reasts, a.ss ), and introduction to other characters that wouldn't be useful to know I'm the longer run.

But everything (for now) has its purpose.

If you've stopped before chap 19, then remember first chap where he killed the boy?

That was the whole thing that made the novel possible (like without him, he wouldn't have met with )

Anyway, it might be painful to read through until 20th chap, but then it gets better.

Idk about the later chaps as I just reached 30th chap
