There is a very strange restaurant in the City of Sin. Elves and dwarves must share a table, orcs are strangely well behaved, dragons are only welcomed on the small square in front of the restaurant, and the demons must bring their own stool.

This strange restaurant with their strange rules continuous to attract a long line of customers.

«This place serves the best food! The chef of this restaurant is a genius!» Some of the guests in the restaurant left glowing reviews. But these guests have a word of warning for other guests, «No matter what you do, never, never attempt to kidnap the boss or try to ‘eat and run’. You will die.»

A cute little girl stood near the door, and demanded in her tiny voice, «You have eaten the food, now pay up, or I will beat you to death.» The five-meter tall dragon suddenly felt a chill running up its spine. Collapse

Its just a slice of life in another world making food in a restaurant. Adorable situations are prevalent with the daughter and situations. The main story drama is about getting his strength back since he was backstabbed by his kingdom essentially. But as a transmigrator he does things his own way to solve matters and remain 'low key' which is obviously impossible.

    Positives:
    - Adorable daughter
    - System is sentient and interactions are good
    - Staff and pet are also adorable/interesting
    - Cooking is pleasing to read
    - Lots of random restaurant characters and drama
    - Types of food sold are interesting

    Negatives:
    - Its very Chinese biased. Chinese style restaurant, Chinese rice, Chinese named food, Chinese Knifes, Chinese multiplication table etc. Its very Chinese-centric in another world lol.
    - Main story is a bit badly written. Questionable. And a little off.
    - MC is famous due to restaurant, but still pretends to be low key
    - Slow progress in story/development.

Overall its good to read since its sweet stuff with the kids. Don't take the main story too seriously its a slice of life to pass the time. So I give it a 4.4/5!

An ordinary Chinese businessman who likes to criticize restaurants was transmigrated to the body of a crippled legendary genius. Equipped with a culinary system that sells literally anything be it recipes, ingredients, bike, submarine, aircraft, tank or tablet, he shall beat up unrealistically retarded villains and conquer the world with his Chinese foods together with his super adorable bullied halfbreed Elf daughter with her two strongest plot-armor masters and his "strong", "capable" and equally legendary but actually certified damsel in distress wife.

One's enjoyment of a book is always subjective. However, I believe my experience will be a lot different from others so I will start off my review prefacing some few things:
Due to my background and later values, "foreign" books has always to me been a bit weird and sometimes uncomfortable. However, that's the majority of the books out there and so I learnt to just accept the things written and move on. Generally, it won't affect my reading experience. This time though, it really did. I'm not quite familiar with the term because I rarely ever use it nor am I involved in a circle that does, but I believe people would call consider me relatively conservative. So take parts of my review from that standpoint I suppose

Before talking about what I dislike, I will first say I very much enjoyed the first half, which allowed me to overlook certain aspects of the story. Later it does become a bit dull, consequently highlighting those previously overlooked aspects, but even then it's nice to pass the time with. My fondness of Amy basically solo-carried my attention all the way to the end, else I don't think I'd be able to make it anywhere after around the 1000th chapter. She's definitely one of the most likable characters I've read in a webnovel. The system is superb as well, made me wonder who is calling for "Daddy" in the title.

There are inconsistencies I've noticed littered throughout the story, but it wasn't anything too major so it's not a damning factor to me. In terms of world building it's fine, nothing special. The introduction of the antagonists in the latter half of the story was a bit weird though, raised some doubts on my understanding of their world. The writing isn't anything special either, just fine.

    Now for my gripes:

I seriously cannot stand how Mag interacts with women despite having a daughter. Now, it's not as if I've not read of such characters in a story before, because indeed I have. But normally, they are without child (or a scumbag, in which case my mindset going into the story is wholly different). And so I give them leniency in my mind. When one is a father, I expect them to act in ways where no misunderstandings would occur with another woman not the mother. Mag here on the other hand keeps getting himself into situations I can only describe as scandalous. I don't think it's conservative for me to say a man with a daughter should not have another woman not his family nor lover in his house overnight. It's not as if he could not have them (he does this with several women) stay another place

Camilla is the epitome and the final manifestation of what I dislike the most in regards to what I have said. When they first had the SM thing in the hut, I could overlook that somewhat because of the context. What I despise was how Mag allowed Camilla to serve as an employee of the restaurant despite her actions. I don't care how great a person and how capable she is, for what she have done I would never let her be employed under me, especially when I have a daughter. I continued to overlook her being patiently until I could not help but be endlessly frustrated with Mag when he was outed by Amy to Irina that he has allowed Camilla to sleep on the floor of his bedroom twice now already. At that point I decided to completely overlook Mag's relationships with women, because it was just so hard to read. Irina wasn't all that great either, I prefer reading Irina in her antics, not when she's with Mag

To conclude, I actually don't really hate Mag, only how he interacts with women. I don't believe a lot of people will share my dislike though. So if you're just looking for a nice sol, this is overall a great read

So he keeps his identity hidden and limits his own actions even at the end for whatever reasons even though he’s such a known/famous person… I don’t understand it at all sigh

Well, try and putting your self in his own shoes. Honestly MC's actions seem really realistic to me. When youve got something to protect other than your reputation or influence, i dunno maybe PEACE. When he wakes up in the morning, he doesnt have to be bothered by fanatics and followers or he doesnt have to worry about his enemies causing havoc in chaos city or in his everyday life including his family and employees. Or he doesnt have to bother about challengers. He doesnt have to bother about schemes coming his way. He just has to cook and continue his business. His daughter wouldnt be burdened or wouldnt be targetted by human royal family or his enemies or schemes like marriage and fake friends. Have you thought about it? Theres a lot to lose for a guy who seeks peace if his identity gets revealed.

Ofc hes strong and could probably deflect all threat but wouldnt it be better if there is none at all to bother? If there were frogs coming at you, youd easily beat the shit out of them. Even if they come in tens. But whats the benefit in that? Wouldnt it be better if there r no frogs coming at you at all?

Wait are you 15 or something?

I agree and it's has already happened before they crippled the original alex and he almost lost his daughter so if he does not learn from his predecessor then I would say that the mc is dumb

1st I don't believe there to be spoilers other than some things you learn in 1st couple chapters maybe, but I apologize if there are.

I read this novel 3 times. The first time was to chapter 1250, the second time I started over and went to 1970 when the translation got there, and now from beginning to end.

This out of the almost 200 Eastern novels I have read is probably one of the best. The beginning does start a little slow and sometimes it may feel like it drifts away from the restaurant, but you need to realize that the MC has 2 identities and so the restaurant is not his only plot the author gave from the start. This book is an exhilarating combination of cultivation\system, slice of life, and business genres that it is a book hard to not praise.

MC is very well done. A lot of people complain about the slow growth or the way he acts, but by the end I felt it was beautifully done. In the beginning he is not in a good situation and unless you want him to be OP instantly it normally takes time to grow. As for his personality please keep in mind he has 2 lives worth of memories and experiences and when you consider both he makes sense.

Character growth is great for the majority of the characters and the comedy throughout it was well done. I especially enjoyed the comments that some characters randomly throw out at times that seem to show their true personality and helps them seem real.

Pacing at times did feel a little slow but afterwards you would realize it was actually well done for what was to come. I never felt that the slice of life got too long, or the battles dragged. It always felt that either I wanted more, or it felt perfectly timed.

The worst part of this book is probably the hunger inducing descriptions at times otherwise I truly have trouble picking fault with anything unless I am being petty. This story is better than most books I have bought, and I fully intend to read it again later. Hands down one of my favorites. Honestly though if you read to here, just read the book already.

The system here is a little weird. It does what it want, changes it rules as it please and break them when it want. Also, cant see the reason it'd need so much gold instead other similar system that uses sprit stones for fule. Dont know if it good or bad, I just find it....unsettling.

I really enjoyed the start of the novel but as it continued progressing, I got more and more bored as everything has become stale and you could just predict what would happen next. I also skipped some chapters and even after I skipped said chapters I was still able to understand what was happening in the story. If I can compare this novel to another novel, it would be Gourmet of Another World, I also enjoyed the start, but I got more and more bored because the series was more about fighting than the actual cooking part.

I read this novel in this site, but because of curiosity I read it until complete in mtl

Great world building, great writing quality, the characters is story rich and not abandoned/forgotten as story progress, the story is heartwarming with some good conflict and conclusion.

The mc is not stupid, pretty smart actually. He even tricked his system occasionally.
Oh, and I love mc interaction with his system, it's hilarious 😂.

And he still hiding his identity until 2300+ chapters, basically for protection of his slow life and daughter.

The ending is satisfactory, although little bit rushed like most novel

Conclusion, better than most Chinese novel. Rate : 3.99/5
