The nuclear holocaust which caused the collapse of the Old Times on Earth should have wiped out all human life on the planet. Yes, the gods set up their beautiful Elysiums to provide sanctuaries for their chosen, but by all rights everyone outside the elysian lands should’ve perished long ago. Yet somehow, human life still managed to persist, even in the deadly, mutant-infested wastelands.

Cloudhawk was a young scavenger who dreamed of being as free as the hawks in the skies, yet seemed destined to live out his life scrounging for scraps in the wasteland ruins. Fate, however, is ever-fickle. A chance meeting with a ragtag group of mercenaries changed the trajectory of his life, bringing him into a world with mutants and metahumans, demonhunters and godslayers, and even gods and demons.     As someone who has completed the novel it's actually a pretty good one. At the beginning the MC is dumb, impulsive,etc but the author gives a great character development to the MC as the story goes. The World settings is also great. The ending was a bit unexpected but it was a good one.

    so as of now i am around 130-140 of this novel and i am conflicted on how to feel about it. for the most part i do like most of the story elements like world building, character personality, and the realism of the current setting. my main problem would probably be the mc as while i like that he tries to do the things he feels right it also makes him feel really unrealistic. with the way he grew up and being betrayed or backstabbed you would think he would be more cynical. i just don't know if I want to continue reading if the mc will continue being this naive even when everyone else keeps trying to teach him. if anyone can tell me whether the mc gets better or not please tell me.

    The novel is good. Has a nice idea, very good storytelling. But I dropped it🤣. I got tired of reading the fights. In Chapter 83 and the only place they had a break was in the early chapters, after then, bruuuuuhhh, my brain was on high speed and I couldn't keep up🤯🤯🤯

    MC always gets into fights within the space of two chapters after the last fight. Author didn't give the nigga a frickin break🤣🤣

      yes if u exclude the extreme pacing, then the novel is actually superb. U wont even notice its actually chinese. The translator has done such a good job.

      Also, u can imagine, the mc's name is Cloudhawk ryt. Obv, the name must have been a chinese name which if u tried to read it aloud, would feel like u r studying an insect. Instead the translator translated the names as well which made it so much better.

      Or else the story would have gone to shit if we couldnt understand that the names in the first arc were meant to be self-given to represent the person and we couldnt understand that if it were chinese

    Not recommended. If you're fine with a story with no clear power system and no way to tell whether the characters are on what level of strength then don't bother. The MC is supposedly strong but keeps getting his ass beat when he stupidly jumps into every battle thinking "I should be able to beat them" and then fights the enemies goons and is too tired to fight the main enemy and either has an Deus ex Machina moment I think that's what it's called, or gets saved by one of the more powerful characters at his side. Constantly contradicts himself, constantly makes stupid decisions (sometimes big brain decisions to be honest). He gets into fight after fight and lives by the skin of his teeth each time and needs to have other characters protect him while he uses his super human regeration which somehow still takes fkn 10 chapters to heal .... There's no rest in between fights at all. No time for the MC to develop at all. The only "training" he had was the during the time skip if I'm being honest. But that timeskip barely yielded any observable results. I'm right at the end of book 2 or 3
    . I might have to force myself to continue. I only realised how much of a mess the story is just now. At first I was enjoying it a lot. Book 1 is good. I have no idea what the people in the comments are saying about this being a "hidden gem"

      I mean, they're basically a cross between a zombie and a zerg that got an Int boost.

      No isekai, no childish handwaving turning a murderous drone into a shining heto.

      Plenty of humans struggle to contain their anger. Some don't even and just let it flow. Jails and life sentences would be a heck lot more rare if that wasn't the case.

      But I don't disagree that it's not for everyone. I just don't agree that the MC is very stupid. I think he does okay considering his circumstances... and is a heck more intelligent than many humans anyway lol.
