Edit 3: Encountered this bit in chapter 186 and I think it fits the main character quite well for those who only at most want a preliminary glance at his character

Simply put hes selfish but also human he doesn’t care much about civilian lives and if he has a choice between saving a person or getting a little bit stronger he will pick the option to get stronger and this has been showcased before this through the chapters

Edit 2: 7.6 Like I guessed it’s one of those novels with the world having humans transforming into a species that can transform into “monsters” that have to eat humans

But the novel has a bit extra with something called the “mist” a third party due to the fact that Deviants can still be hunted and killed by the Mist and the Monsters within it

But there are some who worship the mist and are in a symbiotic relationship with it by giving exact coordinates within human cities to the mist so it can descend there since it needs coordinates otherwise it has to encroach on human territory slowly

It also allows the deviants who give the coordinates safety within the mist even giving them the ability to self destruct to keep secrets safe anyways there’s also awakened among human probably from F-SSS tier so far we only have heard of two SSS tiers



And plenty of SS and S rank individuals but haven’t heard of one that can detect Deviants yet but the author is keeping that on lock probably for later and so far the main character only has around one? Two?
People suspecting his identity I’m only sure of one the second is just for wiggle room from where I’m at (chapter 60)

Gonna read but first impression is it’s one of those slop novels where the mc discovers 90% of humanity has been replaced and he’s one of them but “retains his humanity” hopefully not will return with the preliminary 50 chapter review

The premise of this, specifically the synopsis, had alot of potential. It made you wonder, what is the author going to present? A morally complex story about a son that loves his parents and friends but is actually an ambitious monster that eats humans in the dark to survive and grow stronger? Maybe a tense story about a human eating monster who ate his parents and is constantly suppressed by society, who has to be careful to not get caught and killed? No, the author instead sucked the potential from the premise, packed it up in a trash bag and personality took it outside and loaded it into the garbage truck to be taken and incinerator with the rest of the garbage.

Deviants need to eat humans to survive and could have been a good plot point to explore, however the mc for no reason doesn't need to eat humans for survival. Truly a narrative decision that throws moral complexity out the window. But wait, deviants need to eat humans to grow stronger, surely the mc won't just stay weak and ordinary for the whole story, right? Indeed, he does the impossible and awakens a superpower of the highest rank... author truly doesn't like depth in his story. Within 20 chapters being a deviant became a useless plot point. But how can the author reconcile with his selling point becoming useless? the mc can actually grow his deviant powers by eating Mist monsters. Wow. Withing 25 chapters, this story went from a potentially morally deep or tense horror story to a power fantasy slop. Author is truly talented.

I only really read 25 chapters but all my desire to continue reading was sucked out, so I can't keep on going. It may still be a decent story and maybe if you liked the blue exorcist, you may like this, since it seems to be following a similar direction but I doubt it would be as good. I will probably never find out but I wish you good luck.
