In Japan, Minami Yuuki received a love simulator.

What’s the point of a fake simulation?

He used to disdain it.

Until he discovered that he could acquire skills honed in simulated life and even gain future information through simulation.

Simulated romance is really fascinating! Collapse

Good novel... Author is a bit too competent tough. I decided to wait for tl and not read mtl so i can focus on forgetting Nao, since the author wants it that way.

Nao best girl, altough the most troubled. I would love an neet beauty like her around...
I feel like if I kept reading, my thoughts would get crowded with her reaction to the actions to the protagonist in reality and it would ruin my experience. So... Goodbye, novel. For now.

Damn author being too competent for his own taste. You don't create a story so sweet that it can move me and then throw it away under the pretense of a "harem" or whatever.
Continuing to read would be betraying Nao, even if he chooses her later or just abandons her.

I pretended that everything that happened in that simulation was reality, and reality was just a simulation, because that was indeed the perfect life that many would wish for.

I have really enjoyed the read so far, and it has definitely earned a place in my favorites. However, as I delve deeper, I find that my post-midnight reading sessions are becoming increasingly depressing. The immersiveness and the dedication the main character puts into their efforts yield a high-quality narrative, but as another reviewer pointed out, it feels almost too good for its own sake. I would rate this novel a solid 10/10, yet the stark contrast between the character's simulated achievements and their real-life struggles makes me want to step back. Still, the compelling urge to uncover what happens next keeps me engaged, even as it unfolds as a slow burn. I feel inclined to savor this story over several days rather than devouring it in one sitting, which is my usual habit. The author is certainly doing their job well, deserving at least an 8/10, as I find myself simultaneously loving and hating the novel with each turn of the page.

As of chapter 75, I have very mixed feelings about this. Objectively it's decently well written, especially for a simulation type novel. But subjectively, it's a bit too bittersweet.

...I honestly can't remember exactly. It's been like half a year. Probably something to do with him experiencing very sad/depressing lives or some very fulfilling ones then just coming back to reality. And as can be seen in other comments, reality is the one where it starts to become a bit meaningless.

Very good if not a bit sad, but plenty of funny moments with a great MC and interesting female leads (Ch. 88)

This is a good read better than i expected and ignore the people saying he is using the simulator wrong because in my opinion he is using it as is intended-to build perfect relationships and it was even revealed in a chapter where he tried to get future knowledge that it was impossible.

Thanks to GPT (MTL Webnovels), I was able to read the book until chapter 280. I've decided to stop reading it. I started getting very bored around the 200s, but since there are 376 chapters, I thought I could hang on until the end.

Unfortunately, the book started getting too ridiculous for me to continue. I don't even care about the ending anymore. Given its repetitive nature, it's pretty easy to predict how things will progress. Basically, whoever the main character simulates a romance with always falls in love with him. Failure is never an option.

Everyone around the main character is a girl.

At the end of each girl simulation, they see that life as a dream and, accepting the other girls, suggest creating a large harem for the main character. Even more absurdly, the main character only spends time with girls; even at 50 years old, he is with one of them every day. This makes things even more boring as the story revolves solely around his relationships with these girls.

In reality, there is little progress, and the book is obsessively focused on the main character's relationships with the girls in the simulation. Honestly, with a system that can simulate life and the future, there are so many interesting possibilities. These kinds of simulation stories have endless potential. The main character could use the knowledge gained in simulations to bring about technological advancements, explore space, or interact with extraterrestrial races.

Of course, I didn't expect all that from this book, but I hoped for at least some interesting action or mystery. Unfortunately, the book remains monotonous and contains nothing beyond the relationships with the girls.

This is the most accurate review here. Don't know why there are so many downvotes. But the whole plot about fml's seeing the simulation through dream was dogshit. The author only introduced it so it cause lead to some harem kind off thing. The MC is also a man child. Bro abandoned his own daughter to avoid conflict with his wife. The early chapters are good but leave it after the whole Yuko plot starts very dogshit plot. Both of them didn't deserve Mayuri.

Read all available chapters (64). It's pretty decent (though kinda depressing), but MC doesn't really utilise his simulations properly at all, and makes pretty bad use of it too imo.

Do NOT go into this thinking its going to be lighthearted. The first girl suffers from severe depression which leads to some (simulated) deaths/hospitalizations
. The second girl, though she hasn't been explored much, seems to be suicidal.

I'll spoiler tag some things below, mainly on some of the simulated outcomes. Most are very depressing though - warning for depression, neglect, hospitalization, neglect, deaths, suicide etc.

In terms of the actual girls, the first one he simulates with is someone he doesn't even know (she is a NEET neighbour who spied on him and become obsessed - secret pictures, shrine, sniffing a handkerchief he dropped etc.)
He spends the vast majority of his simulation chances on her, even though she is clearly a lost cause multiple times.
Out of his few "successful" simulations with her, the first ends up with him
. The second "successful" simulation with her is the major one which honestly should have had him stop trying with her.
Honestly he should've cut his losses there imo, but he decides to stick with simulating her and finally gets a "good" end after realising that she would rather be a lover than a wife - him treating her like an actual love interest is too much for her, so he pretends to not care too much about her, which seemingly works.

The second girl has only had 2 simulations, but she seems to be just as troublesome. She appears emotionless, not caring about anything. The first simulation ends abruptly, with the reason being given in the second -
During that second simulation he realises that she

One big thing which I'm personally not a fan of, was that after his proper successful simulation with the first girl, he gets the ability to review that life whenever he wants in his dreams. But for some reason the girl also gets that dream as well, alongside her being able to remember it (despite him only having spoken to her for a few days irl.) It makes it feel kinda pointless, since the simple fact of her having that knowledge (albeit as a dream) means that the simulated path forward won't match anymore.

The latest chapter has him waste some chances on reliving a random day in his only properly successful simulation, rather than keep them for proper use. Normally it wouldn't be an issue, but the number of simulations is limited by time/gifts [more get added every week, though that hasn't happened yet, or with gifts given by love interests with feeling - he gets 1 from a gift from his sister and another 3 from a gift from the first girl.] He also uses up a rare "free choice" chance which he only has 1 of, that normally costs 5 simulations. Just to experience this random day, rather than to step in and change the direction of a simulation at a key point.

Basically if you're fine with problematic girls and an MC who prefers making choices based on emotions, then give it a try. MC himself is fairly smart and is a smooth talker, so it's not like he is annoying or difficult to read.
