Kenichi Yamada was a 35-year-old salaryman. As a hardcore game enthusiast, he was saddened by the modern trend towards casual games.

So, when a site claimed to be «for people who like to do things the hard way,» he just couldn’t resist. Thus, he was reincarnated into another world as Allen, playing on Hell Mode.

This is fantasy light novel about Allen’s journey as a summoner.

Reincarnated as a serf, he starts from nothing.

His journey begins with absolutely no knowledge of the world around him, just like those games he played 10, 20 years ago. Collapse

This is just a rant, not a real review - so i won't mark it as one.

The novel started out as great but the power system really fails it (it's just a numbers game), and mc's class is just way too weak for how much stars he's got. The difference between classes from 1 star to 2 star all the way to 5 star is noticably great. But the jump from a 5 star class to the mc is legit a regression. If he were on the same level as the hero he'd have no chance. The only fighting chance he had was when he levelled up his skill beyond the limits of a normal person, which is again, NOT equal.

They could have just made his class rating the same as the hero, it was not necessary to hype him up that much

The progression being "kill x number of monsters" or "do this x number of times" is just not interesting. Wow, he slaughters billions and gets 1% of his exp bar filled. Who gives a shit at that point? I wouldn't give it a rating past 7/10, but i get why people would give it more - hell even i did once.

I might of liked this if it was a into to light novels but after many great hits this one just feels like a intro to isekai, with bad(IMO) summoning skills.

Story-wise is fine, but I only got to chapter 150.

Another summoner 75% of web or lightnovel mc's become summoners. Even if that novel is not about summoners. Not too many good mc's out there who kick ass on their own

Well, casual games are way more commonplace now
I actually disdain to call them games, because there's no challenge to the point where it's even in the advertisement and publicity of games

My favourite genre - incremental - is just completely flooded with them
No challenge, just stripped down to the very basics of watching a number go up with no user input
      Like a glorified digital clock

And I don't like gacha games to begin with, but they're always advertising with stuff like - 800 free draws if you start now
With 16 billion resources to build the strongest base

Where the hell is the game if you beat it just by starting it up?

Guess I’ll just wait for the LN to catch up since the sites I read on don’t feel the need to update this series.

There most certainly are new ones, almost daily, it’s just literally every site but the official one(which is very hard to read off of, hate their UI) has forgotten about this for some reason.

but 14 in chapter 150 ish. i know it sounds kinda slow, but you guys have to factor in the story building also. it's a known RPG trope, the moment the character is strong enough, they will be somewhat fast travel the shit outta the journey and skipped most of the environment details, and just show the most important part of the journey.

Kind of felt like the author was keeping him young to avoid having to write any meaningful romance. That way, there could be a convenient time skip and the girls already love him.

He started out at 0yrs old though and has been continuously practicing since then, and the scale of the enemies have slowly gotten larger since then. If you’re gonna mention his current age, at least mention the starting age and general progression to get to that age.

Okay, I will. For anyone who is bored enough to read the comments on a pirate site...

The general progression is slow and boring. He starts off at 0 years old and you have to read his whole childhood for over 150 chapters. There is no meaningful romance or harem progression as the MC is a kid but also one of those Japanese herbivore MCs. Fin.

Will say as an added bonus. The harem progression is very minimal so for those who don't enjoy harem this is some of the most bare bones harem there can be, it's entirely not in the way of the story.
