Chapter 466

The three Unity Realm cultivators stood up from the rubble and looked up.

In midair, the crystal-armored figure stood with arms crossed, seeming to look down arrogantly at them.

Lin Mei activated her spell, a blue light emanating from her body, accompanied by a crackling sound as her bones realigned. She moved to the side of the Immortal Master, wanting to check his injuries.

The Immortal Master gestured to stop her, emitting a purple light from his body, also accompanied by cracking sounds as he stood tall with furrowed brows, remaining silent.

Lichi looked to the Immortal Master, awaiting his command.

Seeing the three no longer acting rashly, Su Hao couldn’t help but laugh, “So, still want to fight? If I wanted to kill you, you’d already be in two pieces.”

Lichi spoke for the first time, his voice filled with masculinity, “You killed Shihuan, didn’t you!”

Su Hao replied, “Who’s Shihuan? I don’t know!”

Lichi clenched his fists but said nothing more.

The Immortal Master lowered their gaze and murmured, “Let’s try again, the Four Purple Aurora Formation!”

Lin Mei said, “But we only have three people!”

The Immortal Master suddenly reached into his own chest and pulled out a purple light from within, to the shock of Lin Mei and Lichi. The purple light took on a humanoid form and stood beside the Immortal Master.

Now they had four people!

Lin Mei widened her eyes in disbelief, “Master…”

The Immortal Master waved his hand, “No need for words, set up the formation!”

With that, he and the purple light beside him flew off, while Lin Mei and Lichi sighed and followed suit.

Four figures formed a huge square, trapping Su Hao in the middle. Their spells connected seamlessly, and the Aurora Formation was completed in an instant.

Su Hao chuckled, “Still not giving up? I’ve told you, formations are useless against me! Coincidentally, I also know formations. Let’s see how mine fares!”

With a wave of his hand, twenty-four ‘Universal Swords’ flew out from the void and arranged themselves around, emitting a blue-green light.

‘Twenty-four Flying Sword Formation – Bewildering Illusion’!

Compared to the Immortal Master’s ‘Four Purple Aurora Formation’, Su Hao’s ‘Twenty-four Flying Sword Formation’ was faster, completing almost simultaneously.

The ‘Four Purple Aurora Formation’ sent thick purple streams of light rushing towards Su Hao from below, while the ‘Twenty-four Flying Sword Formation – Bewildering Illusion’ emitted a red and blue mixed light, shining on the four individuals.

It seemed like an eternity passed, yet it was only a moment. Su Hao floated unscathed in the air, while the Immortal Master had lost their balance, sprawling on the ground, struggling to get up, obviously affected by the ‘Bewildering Illusion Formation’, dizzy and disoriented.

The ‘Four Purple Aurora Formation’ also collapsed.

As for the purple light avatar created by the Immortal Master, it remained unaffected, just standing there motionless.

After a moment, the Immortal Master gradually regained their senses and locked their divine thoughts onto the looming figure in the sky, feeling exceptionally hopeless.

They had tried various methods but were completely powerless against the crystal thief!

“Give up?”

This thought arose but was immediately rejected!

If they gave up so easily, what would all these years of effort amount to? What were they pursuing as their ultimate ideal?

Absolutely not, they couldn’t give up! They had to try again! There must be a way!

The Immortal Master gritted his teeth, and his hazy mind suddenly cleared. The overlapping images in the sky merged together, and his eyes found focus once more!

Seeing the Immortal Master regain clarity, Su Hao didn’t hesitate. The red and blue lights of the ‘Twenty-four Flying Sword Formation – Bewildering Illusion’ once again shone upon him.

“Aba kari~” Unintelligible words escaped the Immortal Master’s mouth as he lost balance again and tumbled to the ground, trying to regain control over his body.

Only those who had experienced it could understand that feeling, right? The consciousness was extremely clear, but unable to find direction. Everywhere seemed up, yet everywhere seemed down. When one thought they found the right direction, they realized it was the opposite…

Even more despairing was the inability to use spells, as if the spiritual power was unreachable, and even limbs seemed detached from the body!

Lichi woke up shortly after.

Su Hao muttered, “Awake, not bad!”

Then, with a sweep of the red and blue lights, Lichi once again found himself rolling on the ground.

Next was Lin Mei. Su Hao shone the red and blue lights on her, and the old lady rolled on the ground while shouting in fear.

This was Su Hao’s first time using the modified ‘Three-Day Bewildering Illusion Formation’ against enemies, unexpectedly effective! Just a glance and the sense of balance of the entire world disappeared immediately, whether they were ordinary people or fused cultivators, everyone was equal.

Sure enough, after less than a hundred glances from Su Hao, the three Unity Realm Cultivators sat on the ground with expressions of indifference, no longer showing any resistance.

It was also first-class for breaking the enemy’s will.

Su Hao landed in front of the three, set up the ‘Opposing Spatial Barrier’, and tilted his head, “So, can we have a nice chat now?”

At this moment, the Immortal Master regained his senses, his sunken face looking at Su Hao, “What do you want?”

Su Hao said, “Ha! If you had asked earlier, you wouldn’t have suffered so much! What I want is simple, just some answers! If you cooperate nicely, I won’t harm you, but if you refuse… hey, you’ll eventually agree, won’t you? I have ways to persuade.”

The Immortal Master exhaled deeply, seeming to understand something, stood up, and regained his previous composure, “What questions?”

Su Hao said, “I have many questions, you’ll need a little patience!”

Then he asked the first question, “What do you want with that creature you captured?”

The hearts of the three Immortal Master clenched. Indeed, when they went to capture the creature, they were targeted!

In response, the three could only sigh in misfortune, realizing they had walked right into a trap and couldn’t blame anyone else.

The Immortal Master answered calmly, “To extract spiritual power.”

The answer was accurate and concise, but it didn’t reveal any useful information. However, Su Hao didn’t care.

Su Hao continued, “So, what about the fifty-eight Unity Realm cultivators in the basement?”

The expressions of Lin Mei and Lichi slightly changed, but the Immortal Master seemed to have anticipated this and answered calmly, “To extract spiritual power.”

A smirk appeared on Su Hao’s lips, “Just to extract spiritual power? With so many Unity Realm spiritual powers, I don’t think they are very useful to you. It’s better to let me take them!”

With that, Su Hao’s Diamond Armor surged under his feet, quickly enveloping the entire basement of the palace, destroying the formations within. Amidst the surging crystals, fifty-eight living corpses emerged one by one, along with the creature they had just captured.

The Immortal Master remained silent, while Lin Mei briefly showed a flicker of anxiety on her face but remained silent as well.

Su Hao continued, “It seems you don’t mind. So, I won’t be polite!”

With that said, the Diamond Armor surged onto the creature, enveloping it, and with a wriggle, the creature disappeared.

The Immortal Master’s pupils contracted.

Su Hao’s Diamond Armor climbed onto another living corpse and disappeared again.

One after another, with each disappearance of a living corpse, it felt like a knife stabbing into the hearts of the Immortal Master, their years of effort seemingly turning to nothing…

What is a hundred years of hard work? What is it to be on the verge of success only to fail?

Indeed, all the treasures collected over the years scattered, and the plans made for many years seemed to be realized, but today, they became distant again.

The reputation of the crystal thief was indeed well-deserved!

How long would it take to start over from scratch? He didn’t have time anymore!

Moreover, it was no longer just a matter of time, but even if he had hundreds of years, he couldn’t succeed again!

Because his chips were all used up, and that arrogance in his heart had been completely worn away today! He once thought that being in the Unity state made him invincible, surpassing all fused cultivators. Now he realized how naive his thoughts were; there were always people beyond people and heavens beyond heavens!

Furthermore, where could he find so many Unity Realm cultivators? In recent years, they had been almost wiped out by the crystal thief and their trio…

It’s not that there were none left, but they had all hidden in remote mountain valleys, afraid to show themselves. With such a vast world, how could they be found?

As Su Hao sent away the last living corpse, the Immortal Master also breathed out the last sigh of frustration, casually finding a place to sit down and suddenly asking, “Friend Jia Wei, what realm are you in now? Have you already reached beyond the Unity state?”

Su Hao replied, “Can’t you tell? I’m in the Nascent Soul realm!”

The three Immortal Master muttered silently to themselves, “I believe you’re a ghost!”

    Chapter 466

The three Unity Realm cultivators slowly climbed out of the rubble and looked toward the sky.

High above them, the towering crystal-armored figure floated with his arms folded across his chest, calmly looking down at them as though the entire battle had never posed the slightest challenge.

Lin Mei immediately activated a healing technique.

Blue light enveloped her body as a series of cracking sounds echoed from within. Her broken bones rapidly realigned themselves.

She hurried to the Immortal Master's side, intending to examine his injuries.

The Immortal Master raised a hand, stopping her.

Purple light spread across his body.

His bones also snapped back into place one after another.

He slowly straightened himself, his brows tightly furrowed, remaining silent.

Lichi merely looked toward the Immortal Master, quietly awaiting his orders.

Seeing that the three had finally stopped charging forward recklessly, Su Hao couldn't help laughing.

    "So..."

    "Still want to continue?"

"If I had intended to kill you..."

"...all three of you would already have been cut in half."

Lichi finally spoke for the first time.

His deep voice was filled with restrained anger.

"You killed Shi Huan... didn't you?"

    Su Hao blinked.

    "Who's Shi Huan?"

    "I don't know him."

    Lichi clenched both fists.

    But he said nothing further.

    ---

The Immortal Master lowered his eyes.

After a long silence, he murmured,

    "Let's try once more."

    "The Four Purple Aurora Formation."

    Lin Mei hesitated.

    "But..."

"There are only three of us."

Without answering, the Immortal Master suddenly thrust one hand into his own chest.

To the astonishment of Lin Mei and Lichi—

He slowly pulled out a mass of purple light.

The light gradually condensed into a human-shaped figure, standing quietly beside him.

    Now...

    There were four participants.

    Lin Mei stared blankly.

    "Master..."

    The Immortal Master interrupted her.

    "No more words."

    "Form the array."

The purple avatar immediately flew outward.

    The Immortal Master followed.

Lin Mei and Lichi exchanged helpless glances before taking their assigned positions.

Four figures occupied the four corners of a massive square.

    Spiritual power connected instantly.

The Four Purple Aurora Formation was completed.

    ---

    Su Hao smiled.

    "Still unwilling to give up?"

    "I already told you..."

    "Formations won't work against me."

    "Coincidentally..."

"I know a few formations myself."

    "Let's compare them."

    He casually waved one hand.

Twenty-four Universal Swords emerged from empty space.

    Blue-green radiance connected them together.

    ---

Twenty-four Flying Sword Formation — Bewildering Illusion.

    ---

Compared with the Four Purple Aurora Formation...

Su Hao's formation activated even faster.

    Almost simultaneously—

Thick purple beams surged upward from below.

    At the same moment...

Red and blue radiance burst from the Twenty-four Flying Sword Formation, washing over the four cultivators.

    For an instant—

    Time itself seemed to stop.

    Then...

    Nothing happened to Su Hao.

    Meanwhile—

The Immortal Master suddenly lost all sense of balance.

He stumbled violently before collapsing onto the ground.

His body twisted awkwardly as he struggled to stand.

The Bewildering Illusion Formation had completely overturned his sense of direction.

The Four Purple Aurora Formation instantly collapsed.

Only the purple avatar remained standing quietly.

    It seemed completely unaffected.

    ---

    After several breaths...

The Immortal Master barely regained his bearings.

Looking toward the crystal-armored figure floating overhead, he felt an unprecedented sense of helplessness.

    They had tried everything.

    Every technique.

    Every formation.

    Every spell.

Yet none of it had any effect whatsoever.

    ---

    "Should I... give up?"

    The thought surfaced briefly.

    He rejected it immediately.

    If he abandoned everything now...

Then what had all these years of effort been for?

What meaning remained in his pursuit?

    No.

    He couldn't give up.

There had to be another method.

    ---

The Immortal Master gritted his teeth.

    His blurred vision gradually recovered.

The overlapping images before him slowly merged into one.

    Just then—

Su Hao casually activated the Bewildering Illusion Formation again.

Red and blue light swept across the Immortal Master once more.

    "...Aba... kari..."

    Nonsensical sounds escaped his mouth.

    He immediately collapsed again.

    His consciousness remained perfectly clear...

Yet he couldn't distinguish left from right.

    Up from down.

    Front from back.

    Every direction seemed correct.

    Every direction also seemed wrong.

    Even worse—

He could no longer properly control his Spiritual Power.

His limbs no longer seemed to belong to him.

It felt as though someone else had borrowed his body.

    ---

    Not long afterward...

    Lichi recovered.

    Su Hao nodded approvingly.

    "Not bad."

Then the Bewildering Illusion Formation illuminated him.

Lichi immediately began rolling across the ground once more.

    ---

    Next came Lin Mei.

She had only just regained her senses before another burst of red and blue light swept over her.

She let out a frightened cry and also collapsed helplessly.

    ---

    ...

This was Su Hao's first practical use of his improved Bewildering Illusion Formation against powerful opponents.

    Its effectiveness even surprised him.

Regardless of whether the target was an ordinary person...

    Or a Unity Realm cultivator...

Everyone lost their sense of balance equally.

After fewer than a hundred activations...

The three Unity Realm cultivators simply sat on the ground expressionlessly.

Not one of them attempted to resist anymore.

Its ability to completely destroy an opponent's fighting spirit was truly first-rate.

    ---

Su Hao slowly descended before them.

He established an Opposing Spatial Barrier around the area before tilting his head slightly.

    "So..."

"Can we finally have a proper conversation?"

The Immortal Master slowly regained clarity.

Looking directly at Su Hao, he asked,

    "What do you want?"

    Su Hao laughed.

"If you had asked that from the beginning..."

"...none of you would have suffered so much."

"What I want is very simple."

"I only have a few questions."

    "If you cooperate..."

    "I won't harm you."

    "If you refuse..."

    "...that's alright too."

"I have plenty of ways to persuade people."

    The Immortal Master slowly exhaled.

    He stood back up.

His former calm demeanor gradually returned.

"What do you wish to know?"

    Su Hao nodded.

"I have quite a few questions."

    "You'll need some patience."

    Then he asked,

"Why did you capture that creature?"

The expressions of the three changed slightly.

    Sure enough...

Their operation had been observed from beginning to end.

    The Immortal Master answered calmly,

    "To extract Spiritual Power."

    The answer was concise.

    It revealed almost nothing.

    Su Hao didn't mind.

    He immediately continued.

"What about the fifty-eight Unity Realm cultivators imprisoned beneath your palace?"

Lin Mei and Lichi's expressions shifted slightly.

    The Immortal Master remained calm.

    "To extract Spiritual Power."

A faint smile appeared beneath Su Hao's crystal mask.

    "Only to extract Spiritual Power?"

    "I don't think so."

    "So many Unity Realm cultivators..."

    "I doubt they're merely batteries."

    "As for them..."

    "I'll be taking them."

    He lightly stamped his foot.

Diamond Armor rapidly spread beneath the palace.

Every hidden formation underground was instantly destroyed.

    The crystal surged upward.

One unconscious Unity Realm cultivator after another emerged from underground.

    Finally...

The grotesque monster was also brought to the surface.

    The Immortal Master remained silent.

Lin Mei's face briefly revealed anxiety.

    Neither spoke.

    ---

    Su Hao smiled.

    "Since none of you object..."

    "I won't stand on ceremony."

Diamond Armor flowed over the monster.

    The enormous body disappeared instantly.

The Immortal Master's pupils contracted sharply.

    Then—

Diamond Armor wrapped around another unconscious Unity Realm cultivator.

    That cultivator also disappeared.

    One after another...

    Every unconscious captive vanished.

Each disappearance felt like another knife piercing the Immortal Master's heart.

    Years...

    Decades...

    Centuries of preparation...

Everything was disappearing before his eyes.

    What did it feel like...

To spend more than a hundred years pursuing a dream...

Only to fail when success was finally within reach?

    The Crystal Thief...

    Truly deserved his reputation.

Even if he started over today...

How many more centuries would he need?

He no longer had that much time.

    More importantly...

Even if he had centuries to spare...

He could never repeat what he had accomplished.

    His greatest bargaining chips...

    Were gone.

    His confidence...

    Was gone.

    His pride...

    Had also vanished today.

He had once believed that reaching the Unity Realm placed him above everyone else.

    Only now did he realize...

    There was always someone stronger.

Always a higher peak beyond the highest mountain.

    ---

By the time the last unconscious Unity Realm cultivator disappeared...

The Immortal Master also let out one final weary sigh.

He casually sat down nearby before quietly asking,

    "Fellow Daoist Jia Wei..."

    "What realm have you reached?"

"Have you already surpassed the Unity Realm?"

    Su Hao answered naturally,

    "Can't you tell?"

"I'm only at the Nascent Soul Realm."

The three simply stared at him.

None of them believed a single word.
