Chapter 94-2: New Option Assassin Build (2) |
Comment Section:
Endless Night: Brother, your post is excellent. This Star Vein combo is very feasible. But why the jab at the Gargoyle… I can already sense a wave of Gargoyle players heading this way. Get ready for some heat. Liked and bookmarked, retreating now (Explorer Escape.jpg).
Murderous Intent Rising: The build looks really strong, but have you considered one issue? Our enemies are mainly the Swarm and Black Tide, both overwhelming in numbers. No matter how strong, the Assassin Build is best suited for single-target eliminations. Against the Swarm and Black Tide, its killing power is too limited. Builds like Gargoyle combined with defensive inherited souls are far more effective. Assassin Build feels more suited for solo players.
Dark Land Is Fun: Bookmarked, going to test it out shortly. I think the combo is quite practical. Sure, it’s got a weakness against the Swarm and Black Tide, but its kill efficiency is extremely high. As long as you’re killing something each time, the high efficiency makes up for everything else. Still, I don’t get why the OP had to diss the Gargoyle. Its strength is well-proven. Paired with Taunt, it’s practically a guardian angel for teammates in the Swarm, maximum safety.
Hesitation Leads to Defeat: The OP is probably a solo player. In team play, Assassin Build has little meaning. AoE magic is enough. If not, just add another mage. Assassins aren’t really suited for starter village maps. Sure, they might perform excellently against powerful single targets, but in team play, Assassin Build ends up at the bottom of the ecosystem. In short: useful, but not that useful.
Shrimp Heart Pig Heart: First, I’ll say it, dissing Gargoyle wasn’t right.
That said, here’s my take: why can’t Assassin Build fit into team play?
Do we really think our future enemies will only be the Swarm and Black Tide?
In faction warfare, Assassin Build players handle decapitation strikes or deal with troublesome enemy DPSs. For example, in the Swarm, there’s a type of bug that sprays liquid energy, extremely hard to deal with. Can Gargoyle Builds or Spirit Weapon Builds charge through and take it out? Obviously not. But with Assassin Build players, they can stealth deep behind enemy lines, take out critical targets, and ease pressure on the frontline. I believe every team needs Assassin Build players, that’s how a fully equipped team should operate, covering all weaknesses.

The appearance of the Assassin Build Star Vein combo sparked heated debate across the forum.
Especially concerning the Assassin Build’s role, players voiced many different opinions.
But one thing was clear: the Assassin Build was perfectly suited for solo players or lone wolves.
With its extremely high mobility and burst damage, both travel and monster hunting efficiency received a huge boost.
However, the build also had a fatal flaw.
Compared to melee-focused Star Vein combos like Gargoyle, Assassin Build was defensively fragile. Even after unlocking more Star Vein slots later, players would still embed pure offense-oriented inherited souls, never considering defense or sustain.
This was the biggest difference between Assassin Build and other Star Vein builds.
Even mage players embedded inherited souls like Qi Eater to ensure sustained combat.
Only Assassin Build pursued the most extreme output.
The debate drove the post’s popularity higher and higher, pushing it onto the forum’s trending list.
After reading Guide, quite a few players felt tempted to try the Assassin Build.
Though its role was highly controversial, the appearance of this guide officially marked the arrival of a brand-new Star Vein build: the Assassin Build.

Emperor’s Mound Mountain Range, Blood-Soaked Plains.
The veteran squad, led by Li Tie, was approaching a nearby Swarm devouring the land.
Voice Channel:
Old Dog: Hey, did you guys see the new post trending on the forum?
Machete: What post? I never check the forum. Give me the details.
Ashes: Same here, I don’t read the forum. Vice Commander, what did you find?
Big Steel: I’ve never clicked into the forum once. So, what’s going on?
Old Dog: (Forum link)

Driven by curiosity, the veteran squad members all clicked on the post.
They soon saw the shared Assassin Build Star Vein combo.
After exiting the forum, everyone simultaneously turned to look at Ashes.
Ashes stood about 1.8 meters tall, with a clean buzz cut. Though he was also a super gene warrior, his height ranked at the bottom of the team.
In Li Tie’s special operations squad, Ashes was responsible for reconnaissance.
Seeing everyone staring at him, Ashes looked a bit confused.
“Why are you all looking at me? I handle intel gathering, target surveillance, and terrain scouting. I’ve never handled assassinations or sabotage.”
At this moment, Old Dog grinned and said.
“Actually, there’s a lot of overlap. I think this build suits you perfectly. Assassins need stealth and speed, both your specialties. Add in your outstanding concealment and observation skills, and this build fits you to a T. Switching to the Assassin Build Star Vein would also help fill some of our squad’s combat gaps…”
After hearing Old Dog’s explanation, Ashes fell silent for a moment before nodding.
“Even though I quite like the Spirit Weapon Build, since you said so, Vice Commander, I’ll switch.”
With that, Ashes summoned his Star Vein panel and began dismantling and recombining his build.
Not long after, once Ashes switched his Star Vein combo, even the aura around him noticeably shifted.
“Let’s go test it out on some bugs.” Li Tie, leading at the front, spoke up at this moment.
The squad immediately quickened their pace, advancing toward the raging Swarm.
