Chapter 94-3: New Option Assassin Build (3) |
Half an hour later.
A new post once again pushed the Assassin Build discussion to the top of the trending board.
[Holy crap, this Assassin Build is insane! I’m blown away. The kill efficiency feels no weaker than the mages’ AoE.]

Here’s what happened: My buddy and I were exploring the southeast area of the Blood-Soaked Plains when we saw a group of players fighting in the middle of the Swarm. We didn’t think much of it and just kept going.
But on our way back, we saw that almost the entire player squad had been wiped out, except for one player who was still alive. His performance absolutely stunned me.
He must have been using the Assassin Build Star Vein combo that was just posted on the forum.
How should I describe his performance… actually, forget it, words fail me. I’ll just post the video instead.
I’ll skip the earlier footage of the player squad fighting in the Swarm. Here’s the main highlight. (Attachment: Video)

Clicking on the video revealed a scene where the Swarm looked like a crystal flood covering the earth, buzzing and humming in endless noise.
The camera zoomed in quickly.
A black silhouette could be seen darting through the Swarm.
As the video zoomed closer, it became clear that the player weaving through the Swarm had embedded the Duskhaze inherited soul. Every strike landed perfectly into gaps between the Swarm, solidifying briefly before slipping back into mist form to avoid the bloodthirsty bites of the insect warriors.
In his hand was a blood-colored dagger engraved with runes. Every thrust precisely pierced the insect warriors’ weakest throat points.
Solid form, stab, mist form, retreat… each seamless transition between solid and mist form in the Swarm looked like a graceful dance on Death’s scythe, where a single mistake would mean instant death.
Yet this player seemed to master the rhythm of the Swarm, navigating the brink of life and death, landing each assassination and retreating with razor-sharp precision.
It was as if every breath was part of a calculated formula.
Target distance, strike angle, number of nearby insects, attack frequency, insect movement speed… every factor was calculated with absolute precision.
This scene instantly reminded many viewers of the final sentence from the earlier Assassin Build guide.
‘Treat every assassination as a meticulously choreographed performance.’
That sentence was perfectly embodied by the player in the video.
Though surrounded by hordes of insects, they appeared like lambs awaiting slaughter in his eyes. Every action was performed with supreme elegance.
He found brief openings amid countless possible mistakes, striking each bug down in one blow. Even when unable to kill instantly, the marks would detonate seconds later, dealing area damage.
In this region submerged by the Swarm, the player painted a portrait of death with his flesh and blood.
It was nothing short of an artful massacre.
At the end of the footage, the player, clearly exhausted, could no longer sustain himself and was unable to restore stamina with potions inside the Swarm. He was eventually overwhelmed and dissolved into black mist upon death.
This post quickly soared to the number one spot on the trending board, surpassing the Assassin Build guide by four ranks.
Shrimp Heart Pig Heart: I’m literally crying from how awesome this is. The Assassin Build is the true answer in this version. The kill efficiency is insane, nearly every attack takes out one bug. Mages need 3-5 fireballs to kill one, and they have to worry about mental stamina. In terms of attack frequency, mages can’t even compete. With this kind of kill efficiency, who dares say the Assassin Build isn’t viable? (Dirt Poor Slams Table.jpg)
Refuse Internal Strife: Oh my god, I watched the video three times and was amazed every time. This performance was absolutely stunning. The entire battle could be described as elegant. If it weren’t for stamina depletion, I feel like he could’ve killed dozens more bugs. His control over timing was precise to the second. Who is this god? I want to follow him!
Warrior of the King’s Path: Quietly retracting everything I ranted about in the last Assassin Build guide post. Honestly, I clicked into this post ready to roast it again, thinking the Assassin Build was pure trash compared to Gargoyle builds. But after watching this video, I’m speechless. We’re all playing the same game, but this guy looks like he’s hacking, pure miracle-level gameplay. I’ve saved the video and will rewatch it often.
Endless Night: Absolutely incredible, but I still want to warn any players who watch this and feel tempted to try Assassin Build.
You must understand that what makes this Assassin Build powerful isn’t the Star Vein combo, but the player’s combat skill.
I can say with full confidence, with this player’s level of combat technique, he could dominate with any melee build.
Compared to players of the same level and Star Vein combo, he’s several tiers above.
As for the average player, even if you pick Assassin Build, you’ll be totally lost once you enter the Swarm, unable to find any openings. You’ll shift into solid form and get instantly wiped out.
But yes, the Assassin Build is perfect for highly skilled players.
Just like the player in the video, his combat awareness and mastery allow him to overcome Assassin Build’s low margin for error and even push its upper limits higher.
In short, only pick Assassin Build if you’re absolutely confident in your skill.
For ordinary players, trust me, don’t touch it.
I guarantee you’ll switch back to your old build within 24 hours.

Ashes’ performance, fighting alone against the endless Swarm after the rest of the veteran squad had been wiped out, was captured and uploaded to the forum by a passing player.
Everyone who watched the video was blown away by Ashes’ display.
His incredible kill efficiency, perfect timing, ghostly movement, and flawless mastery of switching between solid and mist forms… after Ashes’ video went live, much of the criticism toward the Assassin Build began to fade.
But as Endless Night had pointed out.
This Star Vein build was only manageable for highly skilled players. Ordinary players would face endless frustration, unable to replicate Ashes’ graceful dance through the Swarm and precise executions.
The video made many players start recognizing the importance of skill.
With the same Star Vein combination, technical players could push their capabilities far beyond the average, creating many more possibilities.
And this was precisely the development trend that Qi Sheng, quietly observing from behind the scenes, wanted to see.
