Chapter 800: The Law Of Chaos Is Overpowered

One soul remnant after another was annihilated. Their soul essence became nourishment for Lin Moyu’s own soul, steadily raising his soul grade.

These soul remnants had once been mighty beings of extraordinary caliber, and the soul essence left behind after their destruction was of exceptional quality.

Lin Moyu could clearly feel the soul grade rising at an astonishing pace.

In mere moments, he achieved progress that would normally require years of arduous cultivation.

When he first heard of this method, Lin Moyu had been skeptical.

Antares had emphasized that improving soul grade was far more difficult than raising soul tier or soul grade.

Yet this method appeared deceptively simple.

Later, however, Antares explained its limitations.

It was merely a temporary shortcut with a clear ceiling, and soul remnants were rare, especially powerful ones.

Worse still, they were dangerous.

To enhance the soul grade, the soul remnants had to be of a higher level than the user.

Such soul remnants retained formidable combat capabilities.

The soul remnant of Sword Venerable, for example, had directly erased the Dragon Emperor.

Had Lin Moyu not possessed Undead Gaze, a law art uniquely effective against soul remnants, handling them wouldn’t have been nearly as easy.

Even so, Undead Gaze had limits. Encountering an exceptionally powerful soul remnant could still put him in danger.

According to Antares, many powerhouses of the greater world ventured into ancient battlefields in search of high-level soul remnants to enhance their soul grade.

Most of them were killed by the soul remnants, and some were even possessed. Very few succeeded.

Antares had only allowed Lin Moyu to enter the Burial Ground of Gods and search for soul remnants left behind from the great war after careful consideration.

The most important factor was Lin Moyu’s own overwhelming combat power. Even Transcendent 9th tier would struggle to kill him.

In addition, his soul-type attacks were devastatingly effective against soul remnants.

All calculations indicated that the Burial Ground of Gods posed little real danger to him.

Reality proved Antares correct.

As the soul remnants were slaughtered in waves, Lin Moyu’s soul grade rose at a breathtaking speed.

Suddenly, undeath flames erupted across the air. The corpses controlled by the Zerg began to resurrect one after another.

These remains had belonged to powerful beings, each at least at Transcendent God-level in life and masters of laws.

The moment they became resurrected, they immediately unleashed their laws to eradicate the Zerg infesting their bodies.

No true powerhouse would tolerate another kind nesting within them.

The soul remnants of the Zerg and the Dreadbeasts quickly noticed Lin Moyu.

Instinctively sensing the threat posed by Undead Gaze, they charged toward him.

The soul remnants moved with terrifying speed.

Formless and intangible, they slipped effortlessly through the defenses of the undead army, bypassing layer after layer until they reached Lin Moyu directly.

At that instant, Bone Armor erupted with dazzling radiance, blocking the intruders.

Simultaneously, law art linkage activated.

Bone Prisons bound the soul remnants in place, followed immediately by a violent barrage of Bone Fangs and Bone Spears.

Infused with the law of undeath, the bone attacks could damage the soul remnants to some extent, though their destructive power was far inferior to Undead Gaze.

As Undead Gaze locked onto its targets, a strange radiance suddenly emerged from Lin Moyu’s fingertip.

It was a light unlike anything in existence.

Every color seemed to converge within it, blending into a hue impossible to describe with words.

It was the radiance of the law of chaos. And for the first time, it revealed itself to the world.

Fused law art: Time Curse!

[Time Curse: formed by fusing Soul Incineration, Soul Curse, and Soul Poison. It invokes the law of time while retaining the effects of all three skills, accelerating the target’s flow of time. The maximum acceleration depends on the user’s soul rank.]

A faint hum echoed through the air as the soul remnants of the Zerg and the Dreadbeasts before Lin Moyu were engulfed in a strange light.

Soul Incineration. Soul Curse. Soul Poison.

The three soul-type law arts descended simultaneously.

Individually, each law art was already deadly against souls.

Combined, their power became utterly terrifying.

As the three law arts erupted, the law of time activated.

The cursed soul remnants experienced an acceleration of their personal flow of time.

Lin Moyu had no idea how fast their time had been accelerated, but the result far exceeded his expectations.

Less than half a second after the law art was cast, the charging soul remnants disintegrated into nothingness.

Streams of soul essence poured into him.

At that moment, Lin Moyu’s eyes flickered. He finally began to understand the true nature of the law art.

[Soul Incineration (100% fusion rate): burns target’s soul. Duration, efficacy, and range are determined by the user’s soul rank.]

[Soul Poison (100% fusion rate): inflicts poison on target’s soul, causing continuous damage. Duration, efficacy, and range are determined by the user’s soul rank.]

[Soul Curse (100% fusion rate): curses target, comprehensively reducing all attributes and amplifying all damage received. Duration, efficacy, and range are determined by the user’s soul rank.]

Soul Incineration and Soul Poison were not one-off damage types; instead, they dealt damage over time.

The effects could persist for days, months, even years—or vanish within seconds.

Everything depended on the difference in strength between Lin Moyu and his target.

There was no fixed duration.

Meanwhile, Soul Curse continuously weakened the target’s soul while increasing the damage it suffered.

Under normal circumstances, however, the damage inflicted within any given moment was not overwhelming.

These three law arts focused on cumulative damage over time, not explosive bursts.

If the target received sufficient healing during the process, they could survive indefinitely despite the ongoing torment.

But the law of time changed everything.

By accelerating the target’s personal flow of time, the curse forced the target to endure the entire duration of the damage in an instant.

Damage that should have taken a full day to accumulate could now erupt within mere seconds.

The result was catastrophic.

Not only did the damage become unimaginably concentrated, but healing also became impossible to keep up with.

Only now did Lin Moyu truly understand the skill demonstration he had witnessed earlier, how a single skill had extinguished an entire star.

Every living being within that star had been cursed. Under the acceleration of the law of time, all accumulated damage detonated almost instantly.

To outside observers, the star had died in ten seconds.

But within the distorted flow of time, who knew how many years the star itself had experienced?

A thousand years in a single instant was no longer impossible.

The law art was horrifying.

Worse still, it was nearly impossible to defend against.

The law of time infinitely amplified all damage.

And at the root of it all was his Infinite Fusion law art.

The fundamental law behind Infinite Fusion was none other than the legendary law of chaos.

A sharp light flashed across Lin Moyu’s eyes as understanding began to settle in.

The true essence of his power had finally revealed itself.

No matter how one looked at it, the law of chaos was overpowered.

“So one of the fundamental properties of the law of chaos is fusion…”

“As expected of a legendary law.”

“When I have the chance, I should experiment further. Perhaps other laws and law arts could also be produced.”

After several moments of contemplation, Lin Moyu fully grasped the principle behind the law art.

Then he slowly raised his hand.

His soul locked onto the remaining soul remnants one after another.

With each tap of his finger, the light of Time Curse flickered.

Every soul remnant touched by it instantly crumbled into ash.

Boom!

All of a sudden, the dark mist churned violently as an enormous figure burst forth from within.
