Aster is smart, it's been proven by the things he's done, so he's not that easy for lost from rizz or the autistic nuke to beat him... and yeah he let her live, or he would have killed her the moment he showed up, or ran to her and not walk when she was running away, or waited in ambush in her room when she teleported back, or give her mother a weapon to kill her with...

    Bro... Not Cassie's mother, I hope that Cassie will erase her mother's memories of this incident otherwise it'll be traumatizing. Also going this far for just Ariadne, just thinking about how far he'll go to stop thesus giving me chills

    For enemies like asterion, sunny type ppl are great nemesis( I mean shadow type attacker which do not have memories and just work on commands ) but for sunny humanity matters unlike asterion.

    Another character who fights by controlling others and using swarm tactics, we already had Skinwalker, Ki Song, Modret and now Asterion. These guys are very difficult to kill. I already foresee this entire volume being like an episode of Scooby Doo, with Asterion converting others and setting up ambushes while hiding, and Sunny and the others hunting him like cat and mouse.

      You have to look at it from Aster's POV.

      Here's what I think, Aster knows he's already got this in the bag, no matter what he's already won. He's already got the whole world as hostage right now. He's just not strong enough to completely dominate the other supremes like neph sunny, mordy and Cassie yet...not yet...so what he's doing now is preventive maintenance. By killing Cass or gauging out her powerful eyes, he's eliminated a future threat to his plans.
      In other words, any goal he achieve from here on means it'll be bad news for sunny and co in the future. He's crushed one eyeball. Half job done. Only one more to go

            The problem is that Sunny would win with little to no difficulty. All he has to do is transform into Saint and he is immune to all mental attacks. Asterion stands no chance against a foe like that and that is boring. Asterion most likely knows this so he would never confront Sunny on equal terms.
