    why does sunny oscillate between being dumb and smart,
    he was able to do his shit in the colluseum and survive while developing his weaving technique which is like an insane feat not only physically but also to simply come up with how to do it.
    and now he somehow forgot that in that second nightmare (which simulated a time before the spell) there were also countless awakened (which he for some reason hasnt bothered to question yet, like how was that possible when there is no nightmares/spell to activate ur aspect n shit but ig our mc was busy testing his ying&yang bond with his girlfriend)

      When i read it, it seems he was playing devils advocate or being skeptical rather than actually believing it.
      Could he be holding his hards about awakened in 2nd nightmare or just forgot?
      Plus, hes not as genius as he thinks he is. He got weavers powers which allowed him to do the things. Someone smarter or more talented prolly could of done it faster.

        now that you mention it, yeah he probably was playing devils advocate. i must have missed it

        but i still think his feat of weaving shit back there while fighting for his life on a daily basis is insane. he has weavers "powers" yes but only in a sense that he can technically form and see those strings that doesnt mean hes gonna instinctively know how to do it properly right?
        even during the nightmare itself he didnt really question why awakened exist did he? (except at the start once) isnt that dumb? its ok if the novel doesnt answer it for another 1000 chapters but he should at least be questioning it

          The thing is, desperation can do wonderful things. Ever hear the phrase 'necessity is the mother of invention'? Similar concept here that explains why he could do the weaver thing.

          Thats not to say sunny isnt talented, at least in certain areas but a genuis he is not.
          Sunny is as flawed as everyone else. In many cases, he was too focused on survival to bother thinking about things. In others he just didnt have the talent.

          The beauty of his character is that hes flawed like every other human. It doesnt mean hes dumb, just that he doesnt always think of everything.

    Actually the logic is good. In other novels Gates are appearing and the Earth is flooded with Magic essence. Logic might be the same here, the more Soul essence are accumulated on earth, the easier it for the Nightmare gate to open up.

    Its like kinda feeding the earth as much soul essence as possible to move on to the next stage

    to those thinking the forgotten shore awakened caused the chain of nightmares, the chance is zero. maybe a little, but in the upcoming chapters you will see that thousands of gates open in the antartic center alone. there is east and west too. there are only 100 forgotten shore survivers so its numerical not possible. we saw in one spot seven gates opening at the same time. imagine the whole continent
