Chapter 953: Another Increase!

All three parties participating in this war were existences at the Level 7 Civilization tier. Whether Xiao Yu, the Dark Star Civilization, or the Level 7 Alien Beast, all had mastered the space energy formula and all had mastered methods of obtaining energy from space. But this method existed more as a stage-based achievement. Being able to obtain energy from space only represented that a civilization’s understanding of space had reached this technological height. It did not mean that all of a civilization’s total energy needs had to be obtained from space.

Compared to obtaining energy from space, under normal circumstances it was still more economical to obtain energy by dismantling stars. During intergalactic voyages, obtaining energy from space could be considered a helpless choice. But when large amounts of matter were normally available, especially during wartime when energy consumption was enormous, only large numbers of stars could support such massive energy expenditure.

So whether it was Xiao Yu or the Dark Star Civilization, both had once dispatched huge stellar collection fleets. It was precisely these stellar collection fleets that supported the violent war at the front lines. Around these transported stars, countless overt and covert battles had also taken place, such as interception, breakthrough, ambushes, and so on. Although the scale of these battles was not as grand as the main battlefield, in terms of excitement and tension, they were actually even higher than the main battlefield.

At this moment, one of Xiao Yu’s unloaded fleets sent out to transport stars detected signs of curvature flight in space. The signal showed that not far from this fleet, there was a large-scale phenomenon of space being warped. This was clearly an operation to warp the space around a star and transport that star. But Xiao Yu had not deployed any fleet in this area at the moment, so this fleet currently traveling through curvature space did not belong to Xiao Yu. Then it could only belong to the Dark Star Civilization.

Since it had been discovered, there was no reason to let it go easily. Through covert observation, Xiao Yu quickly determined the scale, combat readiness, and route of this transport fleet. Then he quietly had his own fleet lie in ambush beside the route the enemy would inevitably pass through, and silently wait.

This would be another surprise interception operation, just like the countless interception operations that had erupted before. When the Dark Star Civilization’s fleet passed by, Xiao Yu’s fleet suddenly launched an attack, forcing the Dark Star Civilization’s fleet to hurriedly disengage from curvature space and return to normal space. Then came a battle that, though small in scale, was exceptionally brutal.

In the end, Xiao Yu paid the price of three Province-Class ships and several dozen small ships, and destroyed more than half of the Dark Star Civilization’s escort forces. Seeing that this star could not be preserved, and in order to prevent it from being taken away by Xiao Yu’s fleet, the Dark Star Civilization’s fleet cleanly destroyed the star before fleeing, causing it to undergo a supernova explosion.

Using the afterglow of the exploding star, the Dark Star Civilization’s fleet fled in panic. After observing the now worthless expanse of stellar wreckage for a while, Xiao Yu’s fleet also quietly departed. This brief battle seemed to leave behind nothing other than the destruction of one star, the formation of an expanding nebula, and a small amount of warship wreckage.

But the naturally evolving chain of cause and effect in the universe was always proceeding. Without either civilization noticing, some changes were quietly taking place. This exploded star seemed to have triggered something, and the mechanisms it triggered further set off other reactions. Everything progressed in a chain like falling dominoes, concealed and cautious, so much so that even Xiao Yu’s intelligence monitoring network failed to discover it.

Everything returned to calm. Both civilizations continued doing their own things, transporting or intercepting, ambushing or counterattacking. Everything was normal. This was merely a very insignificant incident, and no one’s gaze had fallen upon it.

Meanwhile, at the core of the Feiyuan Galaxy, beside the Central Black Hole, the surprise assault against this Level 7 Alien Beast had reached its most critical moment. Xiao Yu had paid a heavy price, exterminated countless powerful Alien Beasts, and finally pushed his own fleet, led by the Dream spaceship and including the extreme stellar body war star group, to a position not far from the Alien Beast mother body.

“I can finally launch a direct attack on it…” In that instant, such a thought flashed through Xiao Yu’s mind.

Then Xiao Yu hesitated not at all. Beneath the heavy entanglement of clustered Alien Beast clouds, he boldly launched the attack.

Tens of millions of Spatial Cannons pierced straight through the dark void, rushing toward the Alien Beast mother body as enormous as a star at Faster-Than-Light speed. During their advance, some of the beams created by these Spatial Cannons were blocked by dense Alien Beast swarms and did not directly strike the mother body. Others cut their way forward, finally truly making contact with the mother body’s flesh. Xiao Yu saw that, as the Spatial Cannons struck first, the hit areas on the Level 7 Alien Beast mother body began to emit a strange red glow, as though steel were being continuously melted. In only a short moment, the glowing red regions rapidly expanded, and in the end rolled outward like festering decay.

Subsequent attacks such as spatial tearing, black lightning, and clusters of Spatial Bombs followed immediately. The scene of this battle made Xiao Yu think of the air-to-ground warfare of the Earth era, countless combat aircraft circling in the sky, while explosions continuously erupted on the ground…

After these attacks came the extreme stellar body war star group, which, though suffering heavy casualties, still retained powerful combat strength. Under Xiao Yu’s control, all of these extreme stellar body war stars adopted the most basic, yet also the most effective, attack method. They all began spinning at high speed, then slammed violently toward the Alien Beast mother body like meteors from the heavens…

Once again they canceled all gravitational shielding, completely releasing their own powerful gravity. Countless Alien Beasts or warship wreckage once again began converging toward them. Even some weaker Alien Beasts could no longer resist being pulled over. There were simply too many Alien Beasts here. As for the Alien Beasts converging toward these extreme stellar body war stars, even Xiao Yu had no way to distinguish whether they were being helplessly drawn in or were actively approaching in an attempt to attack.

Huge clouds of hydrogen gas, or clouds of other elements from the white dwarfs, once again appeared within this chaotic region of space. Some extreme stellar body war stars, after being submerged by the Alien Beast sea, never resurfaced. Xiao Yu knew they had been destroyed. But more extreme stellar body war stars ultimately broke through the blockade. They were like great ships breaking through towering waves, still surging forward, still heading toward the Alien Beast mother body!

In the end, they crashed into the body of this enormous Alien Beast. Some of the Neutron War Stars directly plunged into the body of this powerful Alien Beast and began causing destruction from within using their own gravity and other attack methods. Another portion of the Neutron War Stars gave up the idea of entering its body and instead began searching for large Alien Beast offspring to fight, waiting for chances to attack the mother body. The White Dwarf War Stars were also fiercely attacking it. Some White Dwarf War Stars even directly drilled into the enormous holes from which Alien Beast offspring were born, blocking those powerful Alien Beasts inside the mother body before they had fully emerged…

The defense of the Alien Beast mother body itself was somewhat beyond Xiao Yu’s expectations, but still within an acceptable range. Judging by the current intensity of attack and the defensive capability of the Alien Beast mother body, it would not take Xiao Yu very long to completely tear it apart.

After Xiao Yu launched the full attack without hesitation, he was met with an almost insane counterattack from the Alien Beast sea. Countless large Alien Beast swarms behaved as if they had gone mad. They completely disregarded their own lives and frantically attacked Xiao Yu’s fleet. At this moment, the battle truly entered its white-hot stage.

And at this time, Xiao Yu once again detected something unusual.

The Alien Beast mother body before him seemed to be trembling violently. Xiao Yu could be certain that if the Sun experienced this degree of shaking, it would have long since fallen apart into pieces. And this Alien Beast mother body was indeed beginning to split apart, only the manner of its splitting was different. Xiao Yu saw that as it continued trembling, even more cracks and holes appeared on its body, and then the most shocking thing happened, from these newly formed cracks and holes, enormous quantities of Alien Beast offspring also began to pour out, and these later offspring were generally somewhat larger than the earlier ones.

That was not the most important thing. The most important thing was the speed at which this Alien Beast mother body was producing offspring. After these new cracks and holes appeared, its speed of producing offspring once again soared dramatically, increasing by a full fifty times over what it had been before.

An increase of fifty times in speed, what kind of concept was that? Xiao Yu was already struggling somewhat against the current Alien Beast ocean. If, after a period of time, he had to face an Alien Beast ocean fifty times larger than this, Xiao Yu would have absolutely no reason to survive. Not to mention three hundred thousand extreme stellar body war stars, even three million would all be buried here. Whether the Dream Star Cluster-Class battleship could escape would be difficult to say.

Though the situation was indeed hard to imagine, all of this was truly happening right before Xiao Yu’s eyes, leaving his heart deeply shaken.

“Could it be… that the Logic Weapon is really this powerful…” Xiao Yu muttered to himself inwardly.
