Chapter 853: The Lost Galaxy

[T/N: This is a disgustingly large chapter (3 chapters worth), I hardened my heart and didn’t break it down into multiple parts this time. However, if chapters with a similar length become the new norm then I’ll be forced to break them down into smaller parts.]

During the period of copying these materials, Xiao Yu had already begun a preliminary analysis of the microscopic civilization’s scientific and technological data. Of course, the materials stored in the microscopic civilization’s central computer did not include only science and technology. Other materials, such as culture, history, experiences, society, and so on, were also inside. Xiao Yu copied all of those over as well.

The historical development of a Level 7 Civilization, from the time it first possessed writing and the ability to record its own history up to the present, had enormous reference value for Xiao Yu. From these materials, Xiao Yu learned that the microscopic civilization had originally arisen from another supercluster, one more than sixty million light years away from the Virgo Supercluster where Xiao Yu currently was. The microscopic civilization had already been an advanced Level 7 Civilization for nearly ten million years. During these nearly ten million years, the microscopic civilization had traveled through tens of thousands upon tens of thousands of galaxies, and had made corresponding records for each one. Xiao Yu was naturally very interested in these materials.

But what interested Xiao Yu even more was another portion of the records. That portion concerned the civilizations the microscopic civilization had encountered during its nearly ten million years of travel. The microscopic civilization had encountered many, many civilizations. Among those civilizations, some were more advanced, some less advanced, and there were even several Level 8 Civilizations. However, the microscopic civilization’s records regarding those Level 8 Civilizations were much scarcer, and many of them contained speculative elements. It was likely because the microscopic civilization also could not understand those Level 8 Civilizations too deeply.

But there was one regrettable point, namely that the materials Xiao Yu obtained were incomplete. There were many gaps and missing sections in these records. But this was understandable. The microscopic civilization fleet Xiao Yu encountered was not this civilization’s main fleet. The microscopic civilization’s main fleet had already been in the Large Magellanic Cloud, and had been destroyed along with the rebirth and destruction of the Large Magellanic Cloud.

However, the most critical scientific and technological portion was not missing too much. Xiao Yu came to understand the development process of the microscopic civilization’s technology, the circumstances they encountered after becoming a Level 7 Civilization when choosing their development direction, and how they had gradually evolved their bodies to become so tiny.

“Technology is only a tool in the hands of intelligent beings, yet this tool fundamentally changes the intelligent beings themselves.” Xiao Yu sighed inwardly. “Step by step, beginning from the form of normal-sized intelligent lifeforms, they carried out modifications, making their bodies smaller and smaller, then directly interfered with the evolution of their bodies through technological instruments, and in the end transplanted only the organs responsible for thought into machines, then continued developing from there… Every Level 7 Civilization has a magnificent story, and the microscopic civilization is no exception.”

Although he belonged to an opposing camp from the microscopic civilization, and although the main body of the microscopic civilization had been destroyed by him, this did not affect Xiao Yu’s admiration and respect for the developmental course of a civilization.

“Level 7 Civilization really is a watershed. Before becoming a Level 7 Civilization, the microscopic civilization was like the Level 6 or Level 5 Civilizations I had encountered before, with only small differences, nothing more than some differences in technological details. But after becoming a Level 7 Civilization, the development of civilizations began to diverge explosively. The gap between different civilizations became unimaginably huge. Like this civilization recorded by the microscopic civilization, the macroscopic civilization? Every intelligent being within that civilization possesses an enormous body, some bodies as large as a planet… That is truly hard to imagine. During the development of this macroscopic civilization, I wonder whether they integrated technologies gained from research into Alien Beasts? Developing their bodies to become larger and larger, that seems almost the same as Alien Beasts.”

“Mm… sure enough, there are also civilizations of the main universe direction. They specifically take the development of the small universe as the direction of their civilization’s technological progress. Their small universes may encompass an entire galaxy. I wonder whether civilizations of the main universe direction have conducted research and made progress regarding the reconstruction of the Rules within the small universe? A Level 7 main universe civilization probably still would not have that capability, but Level 8 is harder to say.” Xiao Yu thought silently.

Xiao Yu had already slightly touched upon the mysteries of the Rules. Since destroying a small universe could return that small universe, along with the Rules inside it, back into chaos, then there must necessarily be a way to determine the Rules within it anew. Perhaps some civilization really had created a small universe that operated entirely according to its own wishes, and within that small universe, all Rules could be altered according to its needs. Among the civilization types Xiao Yu presently knew of, civilizations of the main universe direction were the closest to his speculation.

“There is another point… civilizations in their budding stages really are similar. In the initial stage of this microscopic civilization’s development, just like humans in the Earth era, they also passed through the steam age and the electrical age, eventually reaching the atomic age. These fundamental technologies are all the same. It is only the applied technologies that developed some differences because of variations in civilization customs and body structure.”

“Let’s take a look at their computer technology… let’s see what their computing technology has that is worth learning from…” Xiao Yu roughly browsed through the materials obtained from the microscopic civilization, and in the end focused his attention on computing technology. Computing technology had always been the technology Xiao Yu was most interested in, and it was also the foundation and basis for his development of all other technologies.

With a single order issued in Xiao Yu’s mind, immediately, among all the scientific and technological materials he had obtained from the microscopic civilization, everything related to computer technology was presented before him.

“Their computer technology is not more advanced than mine. In fact, its overall performance is even somewhat inferior to mine. But that is fine. They took a different path from mine, and these things are still of great inspiration to me. Hm? By continuously reducing the size of computers in order to shorten response time, indirectly increasing computational speed? This method is good. It is worth borrowing.”

“Making use of their microscopic technology to directly engrave computational elements onto atoms or molecules and other microscopic particles? Making corresponding functional arrangements by taking advantage of the different molecular and atomic structures of different substances? This is also a good method.”

Xiao Yu only felt that his horizons had been greatly broadened. Merely by giving the materials a rough look, without even carrying out a detailed technological analysis, Xiao Yu had already reached a preliminary conclusion. After fully digesting the microscopic civilization’s technology, the performance of his computers would increase by at least eighty percent.

This was the power that came from combining the technologies of two different types of civilizations. Eighty percent was only the most conservative estimate. The final result was very likely to far exceed that number. This was not a matter of one plus one equaling two. After the technologies of two civilizations were combined, the power they produced could very likely be far greater than two.

This was the first technology Xiao Yu had obtained from another Level 7 Civilization, and this point also prompted a bit of reflection in Xiao Yu.

“The microscopic civilization once said that the Guardian of the Way uses powerful methods to maintain peace among advanced civilizations. It is precisely because of this that among Level 7 Civilizations, a large number of non-war-type civilizations appeared. Perhaps… it is precisely because of this one plus one greater than two issue that the Guardian of the Way strictly forbids wars among advanced civilizations, because clearly, war is the best way to promote technological integration among civilizations. But it is also precisely because of this that those interest-based civilizations excessively lost their combat power, and also lost their ability to protect themselves. If there were a war-type civilization that defeated many other interest-based civilizations and obtained large quantities of all sorts of different technologies, wouldn’t that mean this war-type civilization could develop comprehensively?” Xiao Yu silently thought about this issue. The thought made his heart pound with excitement. But immediately afterward, Xiao Yu rejected the thought. “A Level 7 war-type civilization must certainly be one of the Guardian of the Way’s highest priorities for surveillance. The Guardian of the Way would never allow such a situation to happen. However… since the Guardian of the Way no longer has the ability to forcefully safeguard peace among advanced civilizations, then for me this seems like an excellent opportunity.”

“Then… what about the war between me and the microscopic civilization? That also belongs to the category of war among Level 7 Civilizations.” Xiao Yu thought of another question. He felt a trace of worry in his heart, but immediately dismissed it. “There should not be any problem. In this incident, after all, I bore the responsibility of the executor and helped the Guardian of the Way complete causality. Perhaps because this was also beneficial to the Guardian of the Way, the Guardian of the Way tacitly allowed me to obtain a little benefit as well.”

This was very possible, but at the same time it also meant that if Xiao Yu took the initiative in the future to attack other interest-based civilizations, his luck might not be so good. Xiao Yu would very likely suffer direct interference from the Guardian of the Way.

“As for what happens later, I’ll deal with it later.” Xiao Yu thought secretly. “If the technology of that civilization is sufficiently attractive to me, I do not mind taking a risk.”

At this point, the microscopic civilization’s technological materials had all been fully collected. These nearly one million microscopic civilization spaceships no longer held any value for Xiao Yu.

“You may go.” Xiao Yu said. “I will keep my promise and will not harm you again. I also have to leave, to continue on my own journey. The universe is so vast that we will probably have little chance of meeting again.”

The microscopic civilization was silent for a long while. Afterward, Xiao Yu received a reply. “Let me give you one final sentence, Xiao Yu. This sentence is not recorded in our central computer. Consider it a reward for your keeping your promise and letting us go.”

“What sentence?” Xiao Yu asked.

The microscopic civilization’s message was full of sighing emotion. “The development of war-type civilizations has always been suppressed by the Guardian of the Way. Every war-type civilization encounters countless calamities beyond counting. In the future, you must be careful.”

Xiao Yu had already opened the spatial maze and opened the path for the microscopic civilization to leave. After the passage was opened, the microscopic civilization’s nearly one million spaceships immediately left and arrived in the outer universe, quickly vanishing without a trace.

But Xiao Yu knew they had not yet gone far. They were still lingering outside his spaceships.

“Since they are war-type civilizations, then they will rely on war to develop, and they will also inevitably perish because of war. Up to now, this has been the fate of all war-type civilizations in the universe. War-type civilizations are like meteors streaking across the sky. Though dazzling, they cannot last for long. You are only a preliminary Level 7 Civilization. After becoming an advanced Level 7 Civilization and gaining the qualification to choose your own development direction, you will need to think carefully about this issue.” The microscopic civilization said.

“Hmph.” Xiao Yu snorted somewhat disdainfully and said, “Don’t tell me that all the civilizations in the Rebel Alliance are non-war interest-based civilizations. Why have they not been destroyed according to the fate you described?”

“You do not understand, you do not understand…” What replied to Xiao Yu was the microscopic civilization’s faint sigh. “In the future you will understand… We are leaving… Farewell…”

That faint spatial fluctuation disappeared. Xiao Yu knew this was because the microscopic civilization had gone far away and left the range of his detection.

“Putting on an air of mystery.” Xiao Yu snorted coldly. “So what if I understand in the future? I will not become a war-type Level 7 Civilization, nor will I become an interest-based Level 7 Civilization. I will become a type of civilization beyond your imagination… I will become a comprehensively developed civilization, one that masters all technology, whether of war-type or interest-based civilizations…”

The scientific and technological materials Xiao Yu obtained from the microscopic civilization were extremely numerous. It was just regrettable that there was relatively little material concerning cosmic secrets such as the Guardian of the Way and the rebels. Presumably, this too was because this fleet was not the main fleet. But even the materials currently obtained were already a huge harvest, enough for Xiao Yu to analyze and digest for a long time.

“One last thing, then it is time to go.” Xiao Yu sighed inwardly and slowly began moving his fleet, gradually increasing his speed as he headed toward his predetermined target.

What awaited Xiao Yu ahead was a long journey of seven thousand years. Among all the known civilizations of the Local Group, Xiao Yu was the second civilization after the Guardian Civilization to undertake inter-group travel.

Xiao Yu had no interest in this title anyway. In any case, no one else would know of it.

Several hundred years after setting out, Xiao Yu once again passed by the Andromeda Galaxy. But this time Xiao Yu did not re-enter the Andromeda Galaxy. Passing by it was purely a matter of route requirements.

After crossing the Andromeda Galaxy, there would no longer be any major galaxies of the Local Group ahead of Xiao Yu. There would only be a few dim satellite galaxies of the Andromeda Galaxy, such as Andromeda I, Andromeda II, M32, M110, and so on.

Xiao Yu adjusted his course slightly, letting his route pass through as many of these galaxies as possible. While passing through these galaxies, Xiao Yu also carried out some observations of them. Some of these galaxies were desolate, while some were young and full of vitality. In these galaxies, Xiao Yu also discovered some other civilizations, but the technological development of those civilizations was not advanced enough. Xiao Yu had no interest whatsoever in making contact with them. No matter what those civilizations were doing at the moment, what sort of situation they were in, whether they were flourishing or facing life and death, Xiao Yu did not appear before them. While observing these galaxies, Xiao Yu only played the role of an onlooker.

Those civilizations would also certainly never know that not long before, a true Level 7 Civilization that had stepped onto the cosmic stage had just passed through their territory.

After passing through Andromeda IV, the last member galaxy of the Andromeda-Milky Way Galaxy Group in the direction of the Maffei Galaxy Group, Xiao Yu completely left the Local Group.

Andromeda IV was a dwarf irregular galaxy. Dwarf meant it was small, and irregular meant that the motion of its internal stars and the overall appearance of the galaxy were all irregular in form. It had not formed several obvious spiral arms like spiral or barred spiral galaxies, nor had it formed a roughly circular appearance like an elliptical galaxy. It was merely an irregular galaxy.

Inside it were only fewer than one hundred million stars, and the amount of dust clouds within the galaxy was very sparse. This meant that this galaxy had a very weak ability to create new stars. Without new stars replenishing it, the original stars would inevitably dim over time, or become white dwarfs, neutron stars, or black holes. This galaxy was destined to dim, and in the end become a desolate dead land inhabited only by extreme stellar bodies.

If, within a galaxy, all sorts of extreme stellar bodies occupy the majority, while the number of stars representing survival and hope falls below a certain limit, then that galaxy will completely vanish into the starry sky. It is unlikely that any other civilization would ever find it again. It would be like a man-eating monster hidden in the darkness, quietly waiting for any existence that accidentally wandered into its sphere of influence.

Of course, when stars die, for example when becoming red giants, the outer layers of the stars expand into the universe, and when becoming neutron stars or black holes, supernova explosions occur and in the end scatter large amounts of stellar material. But there is one critical point, namely the distribution of this dust. The dust slowly expands outward from the location of the parent star, and it is very difficult for it to intersect and merge with other dust. In other words, relying on this dust to form the next generation of stars is also quite difficult.

This was a desolate, lifeless, tiny little galaxy without any hope. Just as in the Earth era the borderlands of nations were always barren, the borderlands of the Andromeda-Milky Way Galaxy Group were equally barren.

After passing beyond Andromeda IV, before Xiao Yu there was completely no large collection of mass left, and not even any macroscopic matter at all. There were no stars, no planets, and much less any star systems or galaxies.

The environment Xiao Yu found himself in had a pitiably sparse matter density. Compared to this place, the so-called vacuum regions inside stellar systems, such as the interior of the Solar System, were simply wealthy men. Here, the density of matter had even reached the unprecedented level of only one atom per one hundred cubic meters. This was equivalent to evenly dispersing one drop of water into six million cubic kilometers of space.

This was still because he was not yet too far from the Milky Way-Andromeda Galaxy Group. Xiao Yu believed that as he got farther and farther from the Local Group, the density of matter would decrease further still.

It was as if in the entire universe there was only Xiao Yu left alone. In this boundless, lonely universe, only Xiao Yu’s fleet was sailing. Ahead were distances of hundreds of thousands and millions upon tens of millions of light years at every turn. Across such immense distances, Xiao Yu could make contact with no macroscopic matter other than his own fleet.

Perhaps, since the birth of the universe, no civilization had ever come to this place, and no star had ever arrived here either.

Loneliness and desolation were the norm here, but behind the phenomenon of extremely sparse matter there might also be hidden other mysteries, as well as some physical phenomena in which Xiao Yu was very interested.

The main universe was stable. Whether stars or planets, all had their own orbits. The disorder of certain galaxies or certain stellar systems, such as meteors flying chaotically, could not affect the overall stability of the universe. It seemed as if the universe were predictable.

But after coming into this environment approaching absolute vacuum, a portion of the truth of the universe was exposed before Xiao Yu. Here, Xiao Yu could easily perceive one thing, namely that the universe was not tranquil, and that here, some things did not all abide by the Rules currently prevailing in the universe.

For example, virtual particle pairs. These belonged to the microscopic world, and coincidentally, among the scientific and technological materials obtained from the microscopic civilization, there was a great deal of research into these phenomena.

Vacuum was not completely empty. It could also be very lively.

In vacuum, many particles could suddenly appear in places where previously there had been nothing at all. Their appearance had no reason and no pattern. After appearing, they would exist only for an extremely short time, then annihilate one another and disappear. This phenomenon could occur anywhere. It was as if the laws of the universe failed here.

Here, mass and energy were not conserved. It was only because they existed for such a short time that the overall conservation of mass and energy in the universe was maintained.

Even Xiao Yu had no perfect explanation for this kind of thing. Xiao Yu guessed that perhaps when he fully understood all of this, his technology would once again undergo a leap forward.

Time quietly slipped away in this boundless emptiness. In the blink of an eye, several thousand years had passed, and Xiao Yu finally arrived at the true edge of the Andromeda-Milky Way Galaxy Group.

The meaning of edge here was that once he crossed beyond this point, gravity from the Andromeda-Milky Way Galaxy Group would no longer occupy the dominant position. Instead, the gravity of other galaxies would begin to dominate the things here, even though there was basically nothing here at all.

For the first time, the gravity of other galaxy groups exceeded the gravity of the Local Group. Perhaps this contest of gravity had no real meaning at all. After all, at this position, because the distances were simply too vast, the combined gravity of the more than one hundred galaxies of the Local Group, along with countless stars, black holes, neutron stars, and other celestial bodies, was still not as great as the gravity of one spaceship beside Xiao Yu. But this was, after all, one method of dividing the territories of different galaxy groups.

“Just like when Armstrong first left Earth and stepped onto the Moon, just like when I first left the Solar System and arrived at the Tianyuan IV system, just like when I left the Milky Way Galaxy and first entered the Large Magellanic Cloud, now I have left the Local Group for the first time and entered the territory of another galaxy group. Maffei Galaxy Group, here I come.” Xiao Yu silently said this to himself in his heart.

“Perhaps in the future I will also have a chance to leave the Virgo Supercluster for the first time and enter other superclusters. Perhaps I will also have a chance to leave the Local Supercluster Complex for the first time and enter other supercluster complexes… This vast universe holds limitless possibilities, and my future likewise holds limitless possibilities…”

Here, he was six million light years from the Milky Way Galaxy, 4.8 million light years from the Andromeda Galaxy, and still more than four million light years from the nearest galaxy in the Maffei Galaxy Group.

The sky Xiao Yu could observe entered its darkest period. To naked-eye vision, no matter which direction one looked from this place, one could not see many stars. Just a few dim points of light made up the entire field of view.

Even those few dim points of light were not ordinary things. Each dim point, less bright than any random star in Earth’s night sky, was in fact a galaxy, and a very large and bright one at that. The distant separation of millions of light years concealed every detail of these galaxies, erasing all of their splendor, grandeur, and immensity into the darkness, leaving them to present themselves to observers as nothing more than dim points of light.

The Milky Way Galaxy could not be seen here with the naked eye, and even the Andromeda Galaxy required a person with very good eyesight to strain in order to see it. The distance was simply too great. As for Xiao Yu’s target, the Maffei Galaxy Group, it was in even worse condition. The largest galaxy in the Maffei Galaxy Group, Maffei One, was not even as large as the Triangulum Galaxy, so naturally it could not be seen from this position.

Ahead of Xiao Yu was a true void. It seemed that there was nothing at all ahead, only darkness. Xiao Yu was advancing toward this void. Telescopes were like the sharpest surgical knives, allowing Xiao Yu to cut through all the deceptive illusions the universe had laid out using great distance, and to find what he wanted. Though to the naked eye there was nothing to be seen ahead, Xiao Yu knew that as long as he continued sailing, after several thousand years he would encounter another kind of brilliance. There would be warm stars, familiar planets, vast galaxies, and everything he wanted.

During these several thousand years, with the aid of the scientific and technological materials obtained from the microscopic civilization, Xiao Yu’s technology once again began to advance. Of course, the most obvious improvement was in computing technology. The facts were exactly as Xiao Yu had expected. After integrating the microscopic civilization’s technology, the average performance of the computer equipment he manufactured increased by three hundred percent compared to before.

Now possessing more computational power, Xiao Yu began analyzing other technologies and conducting research and development on his own technology with even greater strength. After analyzing and digesting certain technologies of the microscopic civilization, Xiao Yu even carried out further research on top of the microscopic civilization’s foundation. Xiao Yu was certain that at this moment, even if the microscopic civilization came to compare microscopic technology with him, he would absolutely win.

This was Xiao Yu’s excellence. Any technology, as long as he looked at it once, he could immediately understand, digest, and truly make it his own. This was also the support for Xiao Yu’s confidence in the future.

Time still passed slowly, while the starry sky before him remained unchanged, always so empty and dark. Yet within this darkness, Xiao Yu made a new discovery.

Xiao Yu discovered a point of light. Perhaps because previously he had only focused his observational power on Maffei One and several other large galaxies, as well as some relatively important targets in the celestial sphere, only after the distance had shortened and the brightness of this point of light had increased to a certain degree was it discovered by Xiao Yu’s uninterrupted sky survey observation system.

The uninterrupted sky survey observation system was constantly observing the entire celestial sphere at all times and had never stopped. Through this system, Xiao Yu constantly monitored every movement in the universe, such as where a gamma-ray burst had occurred, where an information storm had appeared, where a supernova had exploded, and so on. But because it was uninterrupted and covered the entire celestial sphere, its observational precision could not be too strong. So it was only now that Xiao Yu discovered this point of light. After discovering this unexpected point of light, Xiao Yu immediately mobilized his elite observational power and aimed it at this location.

This point of light had never appeared in Xiao Yu’s previous records. Although he had already observed this region many times, Xiao Yu had never discovered it before. This meant that it had to be very small and very dim.

Further observations confirmed Xiao Yu’s speculation. This was a very tiny and dim galaxy, or rather, it was not a galaxy at all, but merely an independent star cluster.

It was truly too small. Inside it there were only a few thousand stars, occupying a span of less than two hundred light years. For something this small, calling it a galaxy was really not very appropriate. Moreover, Xiao Yu discovered the most astonishing point of all. Inside this little thing, there was not even a black hole occupying an absolute mass advantage to dominate everything. It seemed that these few thousand stars relied only on the mutual gravity between themselves to maintain the stability of the group.

At this moment, this little stellar group was only a few hundred years of travel away from Xiao Yu. Xiao Yu had always been very interested in such strange things, so he adjusted his course once again and headed toward this little group.

The discovery of this little thing caused the title of nearest galaxy to Xiao Yu in the Maffei Galaxy Group to change hands, transferring from another galaxy to this little group. This little group was only a few hundred years of travel from Xiao Yu, but it was still nearly one thousand years of travel from Maffei One. It drifted outside the Maffei Galaxy Group and was moving away from the Maffei Galaxy Group at an extremely high speed, approaching the Andromeda-Milky Way Galaxy Group.

This was a lost little galaxy. Just like the rogue planets Xiao Yu had once encountered in the Milky Way Galaxy that belonged to no star, this too was a wandering galaxy.

Several hundred years later, Xiao Yu arrived within this galaxy. After his journey had lasted nearly six thousand years, in this distant foreign region, Xiao Yu had finally come into contact with macroscopic matter once again, luminous stars, planets with stable orbits, lively asteroids, and so on.

Xiao Yu carried out detailed observations of this little galaxy. In any case, it was only this small, and a detailed observation would not take Xiao Yu too long. Xiao Yu discovered that there were almost no gas and dust clouds in this galaxy. Most of its internal stars also had histories of more than ten billion years.

This meant that for at least nearly eight billion years, no new stars had been born within this little galaxy. There was also another very strange point. Xiao Yu found that the stars within this little galaxy seemed to be divided into two factions, and the two factions differed greatly in elemental composition, stellar type, and other aspects.

These two factions of stars could not possibly have formed in the same place. They probably had not even formed within the same galaxy.

Gradually, Xiao Yu formed a conjecture regarding the formation of this galaxy.

It was possible that more than ten billion years ago, or even earlier, these stars had all been scattered in different locations, or in different galaxies, moving according to their own orbits. But galactic collision shattered that calm. This was a gravitational war between two galaxies. During this collision, the black holes at the centers of the galaxies would all suffer extremely intense gravitational influence. They might even gradually draw near to one another and eventually merge into an even larger black hole. In the course of this fierce gravitational war, these stars that had originally not belonged to the same galaxy came together by accident, were bound by their mutual gravity, and formed an open cluster.

A star cluster was a unit of celestial structure one rank below a galaxy and one rank above a stellar system. The largest warships Xiao Yu currently manufactured were Star Cluster-Class battleships, larger than Star-Class battleships. A star cluster might contain several stars, or it might contain tens of thousands of stars. For example, the Pleiades, the Hyades, and the Beehive Cluster in the Milky Way Galaxy. According to type, star clusters could be divided into globular clusters and open clusters. If the little galaxy before him were inside a large galaxy such as the Milky Way Galaxy or the Andromeda Galaxy, it would belong to the category of an open cluster.

After this little galaxy formed into an open cluster, the gravitational war between the two great galaxies continued, and in the end cast this newly formed open cluster out of the galactic domain. From that moment on, it left its homeland and began to wander.

After some calculations, Xiao Yu reached a conclusion. In the endless future, if its luck were good enough, it might be captured by the Triangulum Galaxy and eventually merge into the Triangulum Galaxy.

“What an interesting little fellow.” Xiao Yu thought somewhat regretfully. “What awaits you ahead is still time counted in billions of years. Good luck. It is a pity that I do not have enough time to stay here.”

Xiao Yu’s fleet slowly left this lost galaxy and continued sailing forward. The Maffei One Galaxy was just ahead.
