Chapter 952: Respect

Kyle's True Sin Aura returned, and the surroundings became oppressive. He didn't activate his Momentum, but the sheer density of his Momentum still influenced the surroundings.

Kyle didn't feel any different. After all, this was just his normal aura. This was just who he was. To him, everything was normal.

Yet, he didn't know how his normal self appeared to others.

When the Tribe Members felt Kyle's oppressive aura, their faces turned white.

The Energy going into Kyle's mind was so dense! It was even denser than Melvaro's Energy, which could only mean one thing.

This was a Legendary Sage!

Even more, the sheer power of his Momentum and the intensity of his aura were not things they had ever seen before on a Sage. Not even Lieutenant Generals had such an intense aura!

They knew that he was not a Spirit Lord, but at this moment, they felt like they were in front of one of the Commanders of one of the Forts. Only the Commanders and people even higher in rank could exhibit such an intense aura.

"Is that enough?" Kyle asked with annoyance. "Do you also need a demonstration?"

Melvaro's heart shook as he perceived Kyle's aura. Melvaro's goal was to become a Lieutenant General, but Kyle's Aura was even more intense than the aura of a Lieutenant General! Attaining an intensity in aura that rivaled Kyle's was not his current goal. It was the goal of his goal.

"We apologize for our disrespect," Melvaro said before performing a respectful salute.

"Even if your power were fake, disrespecting someone with a True Sin Aura is already worthy of condemnation. You people have chosen a fate worse than death to repay Ayuvar, and as citizens of Ayuvar, we must thank you with our lives."

The other members also saluted respectfully.

Yet, before Kyle could make an answer, everyone pulled out their weapons, and then...

CRKSH!

All of them severed their left hands from their arms. The left hands dropped to the ground, leaving bloody splatters.

"Let this be a sign of our apology," Melvaro said respectfully.

Kyle looked with raised brows at the severed hands. Naturally, all the wounds on the Tribe Members' bodies had already healed, but that was not the point.

This was just a symbol to show their sincerity.

When Kyle saw all of that, his annoyance vanished, and he sighed.

"It's fine," he said, waving dismissively. "You didn't need to do that."

"It was our choice," Melvaro transmitted.

"Whether you've acted as a Magnet, a Decimator, or a Detector, you have already saved more lives than all of us combined. We are not doing this for you, but for us. We all want to protect Humanity, and you have done more for Humanity than we have."

Kyle sighed again. Yes, they had antagonized him first, but he almost felt bad for them now. Their words were genuine, and they've shown their remorse.

"It's okay. There are no issues," Kyle transmitted. "Just leave me in peace, alright?"

"Of course," Melvaro answered. "The Melvaro Family thanks you deeply for your contributions to Humanity. If you ever need help, we are willing to give you all the support we can offer."

Then, all of the Tribe Members teleported away.

"I've heard that people with a True Sin Aura are respected in Ayuvar," Star Genesis commented, "but I hadn't expected them to be respected to this degree."

"Yeah, it's a bit weird," Kyle answered, "but it also makes sense. One Sage can only do so much. A True Sin Aura, even on a weak Seeker, can do much more. Everyone can create their own True Sin Aura by killing weaker Demons, but not many people are willing to condense one. Sin Flames don't feel that bad to me, but to others, they must feel horrible."

Star Genesis nodded.

"I've heard that the Fifth Refinement is as bad as Sin Flames."

"Yeah, but it's different," Kyle answered.

"The Fifth Refinement is about as bad as Sin Flames, but in a different way. Sin Flames put a fire under your ass and make you move, while the Fifth Refinement wants you to stop moving."

"Is that better or worse?" Star Genesis asked.

"Depends on how you live your life," Kyle answered with a shrug. "Do you always want to rest or never want to rest? It depends on the person."

The two of them kept talking as Kyle continued severing pieces of the Spacetime Metals.

After some time, Kyle was finally done with the process and handed Star Genesis the small bits of Spacetime Metal.

"Thank you," she said as she looked at the metallic pieces with narrowed eyes. "After you're done comprehending the Law of Spacetime Metal, tell me. If everything works out, I might be able to help you."

"Sure, I'll do that," Kyle answered.

The two of them went back to the Sect Branch, and Kyle went to the Law Well for Minor Water. Once more, Kyle saw an exhibition and a couple of areas in which people could feel the Law with their bodies.

"Sir, please, you may have my spot," a random member of the Tribes transmitted to Kyle.

Kyle looked over with raised brows. "How much?"

"It's for free," the member said. "The Melvaro Family has declared their support for you."

Kyle scratched the back of his head.

"I need a spot, yes, but I'm also not poor. I can just pay for it. You probably also need it."

"It's fine," the man transmitted. "The Melvaro Family will reimburse me."

"Yeah, thanks for the help, but I don't want to take advantage of people I barely know," Kyle transmitted. "Just let me buy it."

"Sir, the things you have done for Humanity can't be measured in Merits. As an inhabitant of Ayuvar, it is my duty to help you. You have helped us, and if I don't help you, I can't call myself a human. Have you not felt something like this before? I wish to help you because of what you have done for us. If I don't give this spot to you, I will feel like I'm trampling on your sacrifice."

"So, please, just let me help you."

Kyle closed his eyes and took a deep breath.

He knew the feeling the Tribe Member was talking about.

"Fine, I will accept. Thank you," Kyle transmitted.

"No, I should thank you," the man transmitted as the two of them swapped places.

"If you ever need help, reach out to the Harlan Family. I might not be a high-ranking member, but I can assure you that the Harlan Family pays its debts and supports everyone who defends Ayuvar," the man transmitted.

"I'll keep that in mind," Kyle transmitted.

The man nodded once before leaving the Law Well.

Kyle watched the man leave with a complicated expression.

"Power is respected in Ayuvar, but only to a certain extent. If I simply relied on my power, the Tribe Members would leave me alone. We would just be strangers."

"In order to truly gain respect in Ayuvar, you must contribute to Humanity and make sacrifices. A Primal's power is almost worthless. Nobody would pay them any mind. In Humanity's eyes, their power is not worthy of respect."

"Yet, if you're willing to condense a True Sin Aura, even such a Primal will be deeply respected by Humanity. Once again, it's all about impact. The greater your impact on the war, the more value you have. Most people's impact is measured by their power, but if you condense a True Sin Aura, your impact is far greater."

"In Ayuvar, power is secondary. The most important thing is the weight of your contribution to Ayuvar."

Warma really giving us some plot-based whiplash trying to make us think we'd get a face-slapping arc, but honestly this is way better.

My words from two chapters ago were unnecessary. It seems that the face-slapping was simply an intermission
