Chapter 1125: Heading to the Ancestral Court Again |
"But you know, after everything we've been together, I'm starting to really look forward to learning more about our past lives. You gave up everything to be reborn for me, so that means you loved my past self more than your own life. And this past self of mine—just how extraordinary was she to make you love her so much? I really want to know what happened between us before."
Seeing the hope and anticipation in her eyes, Tang San smiled. "You'll know. Initially, I thought that your memories would be entirely erased, but it seems that's not the case. Since you had those flashbacks while breaking through, it means that you still have access to those memories; it's just that your divine consciousness is not at the level where it can reach them. I assume that when you become an Emperor and truly touch upon higher-tier Laws, you will be able to establish a connection. And when that happens, you will recover all your memories and you will find out what happened. I am pretty sure you'll be amazed. Our past life was just as incredible as this one."
"Mhm, I look forward to that day," Mei Gongzi replied softly.
Tang San smiled slightly. "But the day our memories return won't be an easy one. That day will also be the day we stand opposed to all Emperors."
"With you by my side, I'm not afraid of anything," Mei Gongzi said tenderly.
Tang San's smile deepened. "With me here, you have nothing to be afraid of. When our powers return in full, you'll understand just how different we are from this world."

The news that Jin Miaolin and Mei Gongzi had officially become engaged spread across the entire continent almost instantly.
Two Crown Princes had gotten engaged, with a grand wedding to be held in the Ancestral Court—this was a major event even for the Ancestral Court. Among the current Emperors, while some had close relationships with one another, none were married.
Even more importantly, he had participated in two Emperor slayings. If the first could be attributed to the power of the Ancestral Tree, then the second was a direct collaboration between three Crown Princes. The Tenebrous Demon Emperor had been no weakling; the fact that he had died by their hands made it abundantly clear who the future belonged to.
The Ancestral Court accelerated construction on the Blue Gold Palace. The Blue Gold Sacred Mountain quickly rose—partly to allow Jin Miaolin to move in and begin gathering life energy for the Ancestral Court, and partly as a venue for their grand wedding.
The Ancestral Court had already allocated significant resources to the three Crown Princes, but Xu An'yu was too busy to deal with that for now. He was overwhelmed managing the transition of the Tenebrous Dragon clan.
The Crystal Phoenix Demon Emperor formally had taken control of Black Dragon City and naturally renamed it Crystal Phoenix City. The Ancestral Court had allowed the Radiant Dragon faction to take most of the wealth and resources that had belonged to the Tenebrous Demon Emperor to Crystal City, but Lin Ximo wasn't about to protest. After all, with a major city now under his control, accumulating resources in the future wouldn't be a problem.
As a result, the phoenix race was now stronger than ever, with two major cities. The Undying Demon Emperor's Phoenix City and the Crystal Phoenix City weren't all that far away from each other, which meant that they could support each other as needed. So even though he was at the bottom of the Emperor rankings right now, the Crystal Phoenix Demon Emperor would inevitably rise in both strength and standing due to the wealth and power a main city provided.
After their engagement, Tang San and Mei Gongzi departed from Kali City, heading toward the Ancestral Court. One reason was to receive the resources prepared for their ascension to Emperorhood; the other was to prepare for their wedding. After the wedding, they would go into seclusion within the Ancestral Court and would not emerge until they were due to attempt tribulation.
What no one knew was that in secret, across all corners of the Daemon Continent, human settlements were quietly preparing for an unprecedented move.
Tang San and Mei Gongzi kept a low profile when they arrived at the Ancestral Court, avoiding unnecessary attention. Their entourage would arrive later.
Upon arrival, they once again chose to stay at the White Tiger Hotel, still the most comfortable accommodation available. Tang San would be spending much of his time overseeing the construction of the Blue Gold Palace, which would serve as his residence. The Tower of Life of the Ancestral Court would also be built there, and the construction required his direct involvement.
If it weren't for the Tower of Life, there was no way a mere Crown Prince would be permitted to construct a palace already, let alone in the very heart of the Ancestral Court. Mei Gongzi and Xu An'yu were no exceptions; construction of their own Sacred Mountains would have to wait until they officially became Emperors. This alone showed how clearly the Ancestral Court favored Tang San.
By now, every major race knew: Jin Miaolin was the one the Ancestral Court was supporting with all its might. The certainty of that support had grown even stronger after the fall of the Tenebrous Demon Emperor.
At the top floor of the White Tiger Grand Hotel, in a familiar place with familiar energy, the White Tiger Demon Emperor was already there waiting for them.
The moment he laid eyes on his granddaughter, his eyes lit up. Perhaps it was love's glow, but Mei Gongzi looked more radiant than ever. The tension between her brows had noticeably relaxed, a sign of internal clarity. For cultivators, this kind of emotional clarity was tremendously beneficial—allowing cultivation to progress with half the effort.
And seeing their hands tightly clasped together, it was obvious the two were deeply in love. With their engagement now official, there was no longer any need to hide it.
"So you really got her in the end, you rascal," said the White Tiger Demon Emperor with a chuckle.
Tang San grinned. "That's not quite right, Grandfather. Little Mei chose me as the prize for the matchmaking tournament. I was the one… gotten by her, if I may say so."
The White Tiger Demon Emperor laughed. "Yeah, I remember how popular you were back then. A whole flock of young girls wanted to marry you! There was even talk of those four eight-tailed Celestial Foxes marrying you as equal wives…"
"Stop, stop, please don't say another word," Tang San quickly begged for mercy. "Your granddaughter's a jealous little bottle of vinegar. Spare me."
The White Tiger Demon Emperor burst into hearty laughter, while Mei Gongzi pinched Tang San's waist and glared at him. Who's the vinegar bottle, huh?!
The White Tiger Demon Emperor turned to Tang San and said, "You'll need plenty of resources to construct the Blue Gold Palace. Let me know what you need and I'll do everything I can to support you. As for the Tower of Life, that one will be funded by the Ancestral Court, so feel free to ask for anything. No one will question you. After all, we're all counting on you."
Tang San nodded. "The main focus is the Tower of Life. Once it's built, Little Mei and I will enter seclusion inside to prepare for our tribulation."
At the mention of tribulation, the White Tiger Demon Emperor's smile faded. He said seriously, "Facing the tribulation and becoming an Emperor is the most critical step. The Ancestral Court will fully support you, but your own effort is just as important. You'll need to fully consolidate your powers and aim for success in one go. You've said it yourself that your tribulation will be particularly difficult. Even if other Emperors are willing to help, in the end, it's still up to you."
Tang San nodded. "I already have some plans. Grandfather, if you're free these days, please spar with us. Only by training with you can we feel completely at ease."
The White Tiger Demon Emperor gave him a wry look. "Can't you let this old man rest? You trying to kill another Emperor already?"
